Deputies detained Perlberg and subsequently located narcotics and a firearm in his possession. The Lee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit responded to assume the investigation.
A search warrant for Perlberg's room at the Riverview Inn was executed. In total, detectives seized of 17.2 grams of Fentanyl, 13.63 grams of crystal Methamphetamine, and 0. 66 grams of Cocaine.
Perlberg was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and an array of narcotics charges to include Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of a Controlled Substance without Prescription.

Two consenting adults should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as its not harming anyone else. But LE and advocates do not see it that way. They want to cast a wide net and increase punishments, not to those who are violating the trafficking laws, but to punish consenting adults.

Perhaps there are more details than the news story, but as it reads, this guy sounded like he picked up a SW, who took money from him in exchange for some activity with his him and his buddies, to help her out, but she was out to scam them, so she fled his car with his phone (why did she take his phone if she was a victim trying to get away?) and then told the cops that he was forcing her. Nothing actually happened beyond that. And it seems plausible that the women was out to rip him off, but because the current law allows a woman to claim victim and then the guy gets treated as a trafficker when he is just a john, this guy has lost everything in his life and will likely die in prison.

Two consenting adults agree to participate in an activity. In the past, both are guilty of a misdemeanor according to the law. So neither of the consenting adults would want to admit their participation. But that has changed over the years. Now a consenting adult woman can claim she was a victim and thus she does not face any legal consequence, with the flip side of the coin being her story used to get her out of trouble is then used to get the male for trafficking. The system is unfair and unjust as it punishes men and not women. If the penalty was merely a fine, that is one thing. But these advocates that want to label all johns as traffickers because the see P4 P as a major sin, want to persecute johns, which includes not only potential jail time but sex offender registry.
I think some of these people think they are helping women, but they aren't. And I question their motives. A local women's shelter raised 300 K at a fund raiser recently. At one time, women really needed shelters to escape men. But nowadays most women have many more options and are not usually trapped. So as the need for shelters ebbs, these organizations turn towards other causes that keep the money flowing in and their leadership making 6 figures a year. They are making money by changing the narrative to make P4P into something more sinister than it is.

I am curious about everyone's process, particularly when TOFTT. When you find a potential provider, that doesn't have any legit reviews, what is your process to get to the point where you are comfortable meeting up? I generally start by searching phone number, and then I'll look for reviews on the review sites and this forum. If I get a response from someone I have a photo I will request that I will on occasion actually get. There have been a few times I've asked someone to step out the door so I can see it's them, but without an actual cop check that isn't really proof of identity. Is there any obvious things I am not thinking of? I feel like I do root out a lot of fakes, not sure if I have avoided any LE, but I do feel like often my caution keeps me from meet ups that would have otherwise been positive, either because I decide not to go, or I annoy the provider with my requests. Any insights are appreciated!
