I've always wondered about the laws concerning "bad checks". Most people (particularly teenagers or college-age adults) have bounced a check or two in their lifetime but get it cleared up before it becomes a real problem. Is there a certain amount on the bounced check or a frame of time in which they decide to just arrest you instead of working it out with the bank?

The law will vary but typically after the check is returned NSF (usually twice) it is turned over the the bad check division in the PA's office. The PA tacks on a collection fee and gives you a certain time period to pay the full amount plus the fee. If you fail to do so they will eventually issue a warrant but you can still go in and pay the total costs and get the warrant dropped.

Needless to say this process makes the PA's office money and drags on for six months typically.

I haven't paid attention lately is Dillon still available?

LexiI sent an email to a traveling escort who didn't want to use me a as a reference becuase she had "heard" from a client that I had been busted. Another client told me she wouldn't use me as a reference bc of this. I emailed her and told her she should have asked me this or did some research. I haven't been busted since I first came on the interenet. (4 years) That was a false rumor. My point to her was that bc she didn't ask me, she missed out on genuine clients. Probably not a bad idea. I have used the Travelodge at Brooks and I-240 (Springbrook??), and also the motel now named the Clarion right across the street. This puts you close to the interstate with easy access to either Downtown or the Riverfront, and also close enough to the Bellevue track to be useful. Both are monger friendly or monger indifferent. The old Days Inn, now called the Airport Inn, is a shithole, although monger friendly.

The motels at the other end of Brooks and up Airways, the former Best Value Inn and Knights Inn, are shitholes, you might as well stay at Casey's, IMHO.

Speaking of which, a couple of the notels on Bellevue ain't all that bad. The Skyway is kind of nice actually, and the Sun and Southern Sun are passable. The Parkway Inn and Bellevue Inn are not as nice but are not awful and all of the places are monger friendly. I would rather spend the night in a haunted house than in Casey's, they should tear that place down. The Park Lane on Lamar was nicer the day before they tore it down than Casey's has been in 20 years. Even the now closed down Iris Inn was not as bad as you might think. LexiYou "visitors" are quick to infrindge on the teritory of the local providers but when they are more than willing to share not only their teritory, but information and knowledge you fail to enlist it because of unfounded rumors. Sarah is one of the most consistant and reliable providers around and if really did your "homework" as claimed by your "friend", you would know that just by reading this board.

So my advise to the "visitors" is take advantage of the information "locals" are willing to provide as many times that is the best available information one can receive. And if someone makes a statement about one of the locals it is best to check it out before passing judgment.

How about the Quality Inn on Brooks?

Never stayed there. As CD2 noted, I have stayed at the Clarian and they are monger indifferent, as is the Travelodge. They have, or at least had, a "side door" on the west side of the building where you can let a "visitor" in and not parade them past the front desk. They are a "hotel" style where you enter the room via a hallway as opposed to the Travelodge where you enter the room directly from the outside. The Clarian in not bad at all and offers weekly rates which are quite reasonable if you are going to be in town that long. You have access to I-240 from which you can either head downtown, toward the river or eastward toward Lamar from the "split". Do they still call that "Malfunction Junction"??

Personally, I tend to go for the Travelodge when I hook up with a friend who is also from out of town,I can just get the room and tell her the room number, no worry about her being hassled by the front desk clerk. Not that that ever happened at the Clarian. Either is a step up from the notel class of lodging.

I completely understand your way of thinking. I usually don't do that, but have in the past if it's a provider that I know can be flaky or undependable. Won't mention names as most of us know the ones that can do that. I would do the same process of setting something up for the later on hours but call others to check availability and see if I can call upon them if I can get away etc. I don't think I would take it as far as setting up two appointments and then picking whichever one I got ahold of at that time first. The two times I actually arranged meetings through CL Casual Encounters varied significantly. In one case, I answered an ad about 20 minutes after she posted it, she replied via a Yahoo email address, and rather than emailing I played a hunch, found her online via Yahoo Messenger, and we arranged the date within minutes.

In the other case, I answered the ad several hours (possibly as long as 10-12 hours) after posting, and she took her dear, sweet time about answering back (IIRC, 5-7 days). She answered with her digits, though, and after playing telephone tag for a day we were able to arrrange our meeting within another couple days (coincidentally, on my 50th birthday; I told her on our meeting that she was my birthday gift to myself that year :) ).

What, in your experience, has been "optimum" response time?Single women response time is that day, usually within 2 hours or so.... If it goes past that day, the odds are it won't happen. Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) is used for general purpose primers and budget priced interior and exterior latex paints. Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is used for concrete primers, high quality interior and exterior latex paints, bathroom and kitchen&bath paints. Basically, PMMA paints have much better adhesion to damp surfaces, they don't loose their adhesion and hardness under wet conditions, they don't tend to remain slightly sticky after they've dried and they're more UV, acid and alkali resistant than PVA paints.

Paints that use PVA plastic for the binder will be called "vinyl acrylic". Paints that use PMMA plastic for the binder will be called "100% Acrylic". Paints will use one plastic or the other, never a blend of both. There are many different kinds of PVA and PMMA plastic resins, so seeing the words "100% Acrylic" on a can of paint is like seeing "100% cow" on a package of meat. 1. There is no connection between membership status and moderation status. All Regular Members and most Senior Members are moderated. The only unmoderated members are the ones who have demonstrated that they can write using the generally accepted writing conventions, although there are a small number of Senior Members who were grandfathered into unmoderated status when I changed the system a few years ago.

2. Reports don't get moderated when I "get around to approving them". They are moderated twice a day, usually at approximately 12:00 AM and again at 12:00 PM every day.

The reality is that I bust my ass for 3 to 4 hours EVERY FUCKING DAY to moderate the reports on time, and I personally think that everyone should be thanking me for my efforts instead of complaining that I don't do it fast enough.

Something about this add was different just not quite sure what it was. Could have been a lot of things LE, some kids or just a dumba$$ giving us more adds to have to looke through to get to a rea one.
