The Bill of Rights, the first 10 amendments, only apply to the Federal Government, not the States. However, the 14th Amendment makes the Bill of Rights apply to the States for all citizens. The 14th Amendment also goes on to define who is a citizen, just in case there is confusion. You remember the 14th Amendment don't you? That's the Amendment that Trump says he can abolish just by executive order. The 14th Amendment is pretty fucking important, especially if you are a gun enthusiast like myself. Without the 14th Amendment, although the Federal Government could not confiscate your guns, the states certainly could.
