My story is years ago I had a hard time getting hobby funds undetected. So I would take $20-$40 cash back at the store and go to a slot machines at a bar. We all get scammed, tricked, fooled, and disappointed by the "non-pros" of the world. This post hopefully helps you navigate it all so you don't get scammed, tricked, or disappointed AS OFTEN. If you're new to it all, please use this as your beginner guide / rulebook.
(And whoever is able to edit the thread name, please do. "Non Pro's" is grammatically incorrect.).
Have YOUR price. You know your budget or what you're willing to spend. Stick to it. More often than you think, girls on the boards will meet your price if it's fair.
What they're "used to" has no bearing on you. A LOT of girls will tell you about the price they're "used to" from previous arrangements. It's often a lie, or they got that amount one time from some sucker who was desperate. If that's really what they're worth, they wouldn't be looking. They'd have someone willing to pay that all the time already.
NEVER front payment. Ever. I've been taken advantage of, too. No matter how long you've been seeing her or how well the conversation is going, never front payment. With your money in their hands, those girls are FAR more likely to stop seeing you to make good on a promise.
Messaging apps are often scams. "Do you have Signal?" if a girl says that to you, it's typically a scam. If they can't text you directly or use a "common" messaging app, it's probably some dude in Uzbekistan who is trying to scam you.
Be realistic. When you look at a profile, think to yourself: Have I ever seen a girl that hot walking around my city? Moreover, are the pics she has posted recognizable to me as part of my city or town? If she's crazy hot and all her pics are in Paris, guess what? She's in Paris.
AI is real. Scammers are starting to use AI to create dating profile intros. I know because I got AI to spit out an intro for a fake profile that was almost the same as what the profile postedbased on the info I was able to get from the intro (mid-20's, nurse, etc.). Be smarter than AI. If it seems to well-written, it's likely fake.
Resist buying content or visiting them at the club. Many girls are using these boards to drive clientele to their strip clubs or to sell their OnlyFans content. If you're there to meet someone to have fun, avoid these situations, even if they frame them as a precursor to actually hanging out alone. More often than not, you'll never get past that first step.
Never make a deposit. If you're asked to make a small deposit to "prove you're real" or as a down payment for a date, block or report that account and move on. That person is a scammer and is having the same conversation with dozens of guys just like you RIGHT NOW.
Grainy pictures = fake profiles. Scammers screenshot pictures from Instagram or other sites / apps and then edit them to avoid detection. Usually, they crop the photo, which prevents the image from detection when you do a reverse image search. But this also leaves them with grainy pictures. If the pictures on a profile are grainy, proceed with caution.
Do NOT fall for sob stories. This is the same as fronting payment. More often than not, when you hear the sob story, it's a sign she's trying to get what she can out of you before never seeing you again. It doesn't even matter at what point in the relationship this hits. I've "dated" women consistently for over a year, trusted them, and been hit with sob stories I fell for. And never saw them again. Stick to your arrangement terms, whatever they are, and don't stray from it. If she needs the money, she can put in the work for it.
"Open" relationships are double-trouble. If they're in an "open" relationship, they're doing this to get money for both of them. Whatever that looks like. You're inheriting the wants of two people instead of one, and that's almost always more expensive and annoying. It's like seeing a managed provider, and it will always be a headache for you.
Some of them are just tourists. A lot of real women on these boards are just checking it out and have no intent to actually meet up. I'm not going to parse why, but if she's not ready to meet up, just hide / block her and move on. She's free to waste her own time but don't let her waste yours too.
There is no "silver bullet" for the non-pro boards. I'm finding a LOT more fake / scam profiles than ever, and boards like SA do a terrible job of protecting you, the real user. I've met a few decent women there recently, but it's getting a lot harder to find the good ones.
We all get tricked and scammed. It happens to everyone, whether they want to share that publicly or not. Some are scammed out of thousands, others much less.
You have to protect yourself, and we have to look out for each other.
If you need a TL; DR for this post, here it is: Have your price, be clear about what you're looking for, and stick to it.

First, thanks for the report. Always good when we can share info here.

Can be some other complications professionally depending on what you do with some jobs. In the end though just be careful and think with the right head. Checking I'd is a good idea when in doubt but you mentioned that you are. 18 is the number that really matters, not if they are still in school or not as you can graduate before 18 as well and that would still be an issue (generally speaking without getting into some other specific laws that can vary based off of your age).

If you do sub, you spend a lot of time messaging a lot of girls. Get them to move the conversation offsite that way you can maintain contact with them after your sub expires.
In a month if you can easily talk to a ton of women, narrow out the scams and the girls who will flake (never give someone money before meeting them) after that you have a fairly decent amount of girls you can still contact for fun. When and if you get tired of them you can sub for another month collect some more ladies to contact and rinse and repeat. Seeking has taken a downturn for me lately. A TON of fake profiles, and the ones who are real seem to stop using Seeking quickly, or have GPS. You can still find a real, reliable gem now and then, but it's getting harder to find them.
FetLife exists, but it seems like a bit of a mess and requires a lot of time. I haven't done too much with it, admittedly. I know some have had luck there, but it seems like the typical 20-guys-for-every-girl scenario from what I gather.
SecretBenefits has lingered in my browser history, but it seems dubious. A LOT of the profiles shown there are "active now" which sets off a red flag. I also don't see a lot of overlap between women on SecretBemefits and those on Seeking (which could be good as there are a lot of scammers on Seeking, so maybe SecretBenefits girls are real? SecretBenefits also seems like it could get really expensive as you have to purchase credits, and basic conversations require 10 credits. Seeing a girl's secret pics is another 10.

Seems to me there's a few different categories. Like an image of how they see a relationship working:
The "glorified escorts" - they're really just an escort and they know it. But looking for simps with money to be regulars. You might find some cheap ones, and they may go BB. But the quality and expectations are lower. You get what you pay for. Cheap means it's more likely you'll find drugs and drama and less attractive.
The "elite" SBs. They see themselves as the jet-setter super-hot companions of a rich young hot dude that flies them to Cancun whenever they want. Some of these women have GPS (which, in my opinion, is just a way of saying they value their services much higher than most hobbyists would) but some are genuinely elite-level providers. Probably will get turned off if you even ask for a price. Cause, as they say, "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it anyway".

Want to see how they answered a few dating-app-like questions? 10 credits.
Want to "boost" your message to someone so it appears more prominently in their inbox? 10 credits.
You get the point.
As a business model, it works for Secret Benefits. It works for them because this "hobby" is largely a numbers game. You have to message a lot of people to get even one interaction. For various reasons. Or no reason at all. Women you try to start conversations with simply don't engage. The credits system means you end up spending more, and more often.
When you use all of your credits, Secret Benefits will offer to double your credits for free on your next purchase. If you buy within the next 10 minutes. Even with that double-credit "deal," you end up with the same number of non-responses. It's just more work, really. Whether you message 100 people or 200 people, you might end up with two replies.
The profiles I interacted with are shown to be active, and engaged on the site. There is a specific way to tell when girls are actually using the site and when they just have a browser tab of the site open or in the background. I know I wasn't messaging a defunct account.
The validity of the profiles is suspect in many cases, and the Secret Benefits team is really defensive of the idea there could be a single fake profile on the site. I edited my profile at one point to note I would only be interacting with verified profiles due to some accounts being fake, and the customer service team reached out to me immediately. And THEY edited my profile to remove mention of fake profiles. I find that alarming; you're not even in control of your own profile.
Verified profiles are billed as ones where girls post a short video where they say "let me be your secret. " And there are many verified profiles with those videos. There are also profiles shown to be verified which don't have those videos posted. I asked the Secret Benefits customer service team how posts can be verified without a video posted, and I was told the girls send the video in and the team verifies it, but the videos aren't posted to their profile. When I asked how a girl could request the video not be posted, I got no response.
I also found at least two videos I felt were created with A. I. - in part because I found the pictures to be taken from social media accounts of women who are overseas. The videos showed the women saying "let me be your secret," but the videos are of poor quality. One of the girls is an OnlyFans creator, too, and I wonder if she was paid to make the video without knowing what it would be used for. Speculation, of course, but it is suspect.
All that said, I feel many profiles on Secret Benefits are real women who are really in this area. I've chatted with a few, but conversations seem to fall off for no reason. I chalk this up to Secret Benefit's interface, which doesn't adequately highlight which conversations have new messages. It's easy to miss when someone messages you, especially if you get a lot of messages. I'd messaged many women a few times before I got a response (because I saw they were active) and each mentioned they were having issues keeping up with messages because of the site's layout.
Many women have profiles on both Secret Benefits and Seeking Arrangements. I've met two women on Secret Benefits who do not have Seeking Arrangements profiles, and both were an experience I chose not to repeat. One was very clearly on a lot of drugs (she said she was high on weed, but I think there were a lot of prescriptions at work, too), and the other just wasn't a very nice person. Not a representation of Secret Benefits, of course, but it was my experience with women on that site who are ready to meet up.
So, brass tacks: is Secret Benefits worth it?
Not really. It's not a firm "avoid this site at all costs," but I don't think that spending money on credits is effective or efficient. In an A / B test, I spent about 3 x at Secret Benefits and had the same number of conversations that felt as though they could lead to a date and / or fun.
I care about how much is spent out of pocket for meaningful interactions. Seeking Arrangements has a lot of fake users and other issues, but it's still the best bang for your buck (pun intended).
Maybe, in time, Secret Benefits will improve. I'd like to see it change how it displays new messages to people, and take verification more seriously. Secret Benefits feels like it's Temu compared to Seeking Arrangements as Amazon. Both are a mess in their own way, but you end up finding what you want at Seeking Arrangements more often than Secret Benefits.

You have to be discerning to find the fakes. First, as I've said before, ask yourself: is this hot girl really someone I think would be living in my area? Take a look around, are you seeing girls that good looking, generally? If not, this should sound alarm bells.
Second, how good are the pics? Most girls don't have professional photogs following them around. If the pics on the profile are crystal clear, chances are they're from some sort of professional account. This isn't always true, though; some women do have professional photos taken for various reasons, but if the pro photo seems like it's for a business or meant for some social media influencer thing, there's a good chance it's fake.
The same can be said for really grainy pics. Those are often screenshots of video or screengrabs on a mobile device.

Seeking is terrible at filtering out fake accounts. It can be hard to tell which accounts are fake early on. By the time may of us notice / recognize a fake, we've been texting them for weeks and they suddenly ask for money or want us to subscribe to their bogus OnlyFans or Snap profile.All great advice. I would add to watch out for the delays in meeting. I quickly switch to text, and if she won't commit to a meeting date within a few texts, I will block the profile and move on.

I think I remember reading that they deliberately didn't implement it because they want people to "discover each other organically" or some bs like that.

And the woman whose account was being used to start fake conversations never signed up for Seeking Benefits. She signed up for another site altogether, and her profile was syndicated to SB.
So, long story short, SB appears to be starting fake conversations from real accounts using A. I. , and syndicating profiles across various sites. This would also explain why they were so adamant they filter fake profiles. Why worry about fake profiles when you just use A. I. To start fake conversations from real accounts?
Great way to get dudes to waste their tokens, too.
Anyway, that's their business model. Now you know.

I knew from the onset that she was likely a scam but some days you just want to see the story they will weave.

Eventhough their hit percentage is low, it only takes few to make it worth their time. It amazes me those that fork over money, or even worse share personal information that gives these people leverage to extort. Never share more then you are willing to lose and always pause and think it through. If it looks to good to be true, it likely is. If you aren't sure, ask them to meet in person. The fakes will find an excuse or start asking for money. Usually these will start small, hoping you send money or get your name through epay services. A common trick is asking you to order them an Uber to meet you, which once you do, they now know your name. Now they know your name, maybe your phone, maybe what you do for a living and then you got trouble and an easy target for extortion.

I hit the cancel membership button a couple of days ago and since then, SA has been bombarding me with discounted offers which I keep ignoring.

Use that card and a new email you have never used. And be carefull going forward. Any mention of money and pay per meet or ppm and you are done.
