The old rule of supply and demand! If some sucker will supply the $$ the ho will begin demanding it. This same kinda behavior is ruining the pricing in 3rd world countries.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting to this thread is that it is possible that ignorance is a contributor. Me for instance. I logged onto this section of the forum becuase I live near-by and thought I might like to partake of the local color. Haven't done it for years. I usually can be found in the CR or Thai section. Do my mongering there a few times a year. Was hoping to find an idea of typical pricing. I popped around the port. pages for nearly an hour and could only come up with two referances to pricing. It would help us all (out of towners/in-frequent fliers) if the locals would mention $ more frequently. Just a thought.
Heading for BKK in a few days but would like to try the local dishes again when I return. Will post. In the mean time could someone give me a brief $ guideline? The price I can get by negotiating firmly.
For some reason I cannot send a PM. I keep getting the message that PM is turned off and I have to turn it on. However, when I look under 'user control panel' I have PM turned on.
Anyone else had this problem.
Please excuse the dearth of reports on Portland. I have been up there three times cruising and had little luck. I had one decent BJ off of 82nd and that was about it.

You need to go to the left side of the screen and choose the option for last 30 days or so - then click on go. Your PMs will come up then. I think it is a glitch.

I’ve had one more dream of the NW stroll – here it is on 11/1/03, 9pm-11pm. A couple sightings:
9:30 pm, SW by the Fred Meyers on Burnside. She had tight white pants on with brown patches all over them, oh boy what a nice ass. My dream was better than ever, well, until she turned around and made eye contact with me. Not my thing, pass.

Log in and go to the control panel. On the left side of the screen, right below the tool bar with options for where to go is a "Show messages from" message with a selection box below it. The selection box probably reads "All Messages" but there is the option to select different choices. click on the arrow for more choices. I selected last 30 days for my option, and my test message came right up.

This option doesn't appear because it keeps stubbornly insisting that the PM option is turned off even though I have repeatedly checked that it is on (under 'user options'). Something is weird here. I have to relog in when I go to user control panel. I've checked and my 'cookies' are turned on. I even went in under 'tools' in my IE browser and made sure WSG was allowed full access to cookies under security options. Still have the problem. Then I turned off my adblocking software thinking that was it but it didn't fix it either.
Anyways, I am getting off-topic here and will have to write Jackson and see if it can be fixed. Not sure why it will not enable.
I ditto all the discussions below. Simple questions,
1. where can we turn on the PM option.
2. if "editiing my registeration profile" is where we can turn on the PM option, where can we edit our profile?

– Johhny, it has been a few years since I tried this scene. Perhaps its changed, but in my experience, it was a great way to seperate a man from his cash. Good experiences were few and far between.
Also – keep in mind that many of these places videotape the precedings with hidden cameras behind two-way mirrors. This is supposedly to protect the girls from LE fabricating stories about solicitation, and to keep a record as to who made the first "move".

I finally made a cruise through Parkrose because it seems there hase been some talk of some good action out there.
I don't know if the timing was not right or if I didn't find the right spot or what,...... but it SUCKED. I wnet through about 4:00. I went up Sandy and kept going on up past 205, past the video store and didn't see anything at all. I kept on going past a couple of cheap motels, and went on a liitle further and finally turned around at a little drive through coffe shack on the left.
On my way back as I came back past the cheap motels I saw a red-head on the other side of the road that didn't look so good, but seemed like she might have an ok body. I turned around to get a closer lok to see if maybe she was "do-able". When I got a closer look I made sure that my door was locked and rolled up my widow as she tried to approach me. I wanted NOTHING to do with that.

OK, I ran out of room on my last report, but needles to say it was a bad experience there. I don't think I will bother going back. What really scares me is that if these girls are out there working then I would guess that means that somebody actually picks them up.
I know the NW stroll has been a little slow lately but it still seems to be the best bet for me.

Poobah – It was one of those sunny days with really cold nights. The early afternoon was quite pleasant. By five or six PM it was COLD.

This is my first post, but have been lurking for a long time. I seldom have anything to share, but I thought I should give a little input.
Here goes. (Tuesday 11-1) I checked out the NW Stroll and found the usuall street hags and the toothless midget. No way for me. Then I spotted a nicely dressed 'maybe' at the HV bus stop. Sure enough, she was working. She was about 35 and probably not a druggie the way she was carring herself, body a 7. She wanted .2 for a HJ, .4 for CBJ, and .6 for FS. I passed and continued on the search.

Another Report from the Salem Cinema Movies.
Saw this small (5 Ft 2 or so) or so film star at the movies Thursday nite, 6 pm showing. Shw was a Broadway-7/11 star. She has a large head of red/brunette hair, trends to wear dark clothes and always has a back pack on. Liz (her first Name is Elizabeth but she usually goes by her middle name Alissa) is currently waiting to move into a new house and have the phone installed. She explains her actions to all in attendance that she has an oral fixation and likes bird watching as major hobbies. She likes to have the small ta-tas adjusted frequently. The price of this movie and popcorn was 30 cents.
Downside is that she is on anxiety meds and some time drifts off in the conversation. The Director has to some time make her focus and this may take some extra time. Think of it as bringing your own racket to a tennis match. There ares some seriously improved condoms out there. Hunt down a few of the top brands and try them. I think you will find it worth your time to bring your own. [Note: I mean improved in terms of *your* pleasure, not hers.]
Sure, you might not want to keep a dozen of them in your car, for whatever reason. But I think having one or two close to hand should be do-able.

Went out on safari about 5pm on Wednesday the third -- I had until about 8pm before I turned into a pumpkin.

There have been a few out there durig the times I have available to me when I won't be missed at home -- usually a couple hours in the early AM and 5 til 7 or 8 in the evening. Drove up Sandy as far as past 122nd. A couple of "might be's" out there, particularly between 102 and 112, but nothing when I went 'round the block. This was THE area for so many years! Cruised down 82nd -- didn't even find one who looked the part. By this time, I'm getting tired of this, and went back NW.

Actually had a couple of beneficial days in Portland last week. I had three experiences two were pretty good.

Blessings to the Forum! Old Father Priest is still holding Bible studies and hearing confessions around town. Tuesday Afternoon Report: ZIP again. I found time to make the NW to 82nd tour and back again in the early afternoon. Xmas shopping traffic was even more hellish.

Drove around the NW stroll 7-9pm and saw 1 SW. I would rate her a 3. I saw another one on the other side of the Burnside bridge who was also a 3. I hit NW on Sat afternoon, and then again on Monday.
On Saturday I saw two SW's I have seen before - (no thanks) and one hottie. The hottie was talking to one of the SW girls. She was ealy 20's brunette, very nice features and build. However, I did not have the time on Sat and so moved on.
Monday - things were much slower as I hit NW around 2pm. I saw a couple SW's again after hanging for a while but nothing to write home about. The I saw her, The hottie! She was wearing hip hugger jeans with sparkles on Sat, and a similar flashy, sparkly jeans on Mon.

NW Stroll
Had a couple of inquiries as to what I call the NW Stroll.
Imagine a rectangle, with the boundaries being NW 23rd on the west end to NW 16th on the east end and from W. Burnside on the south side to NW Everett on the north end. You can expand the box to include NW Flanders and Glisan on the north side and SW Alder and SW Morrison on the south side. I've had luck in both areas of the expanded box but not often.
Time of day varies, I've seen ladies out as early as 6 am and as late as after midnight . I'd say that the better times of the day would be mid to late afternoon and early evenings. Weekends early to late afternoon.

82nd from the Halsey overpass to Glisan seems to have become a popular stroll. I counted 3 in one pass yesterday and 4 including Crystal-Stacy last week. I live in the area and there seems to be some girls out during peak hours more there than anyplace else.
Also, according to a very reliable source, there is a team of girls running around the strolls taking pictures of suspected johns and their vehicles. There was a time (8 to 10 years ago) when Interstate and MLK Blvd were hot areas for SW action. All of the cheap motels up and down the street offered a place to go, and many of the ladies stayed in them (along with the drug dealing Daddies). However, LE started "cleaning up" those areas. It seems to be about the time more activity started in NW Portland. The strolls had a rep for being the part of town where you would find the more skanky women. However, I did find many pearls in the rough.
I have not shopped there in several years -- there is always too much LE around for my tastes. However, the last few years I have commuted on Interstate sometimes and have not seen a good posibility in a long time. I might try looking a bit closer, but SW activity seems to be WAY down since they started building the new light rail line.
I might just try the side streets around the old motels though, just to do a lttle research. I can't believe some ladies wouldn't be staying at those old motels.

Has been more than slow lately but last week did chance on the fair maiden Bonnie just off of Broadway. Had not seen her in over a year. Couldn't find place to stop but quickly circled block for a better, more prepared pickup and she was gone. drat. Did another loop of NW and headed east on Burnside all the way to 122nd - nothing. Looped south on 82nd, saw a couple of possibilities but was too picky. About half way south on 82nd saw a good looking busty blond standing on the corner, in the rain, with no raincoat or umbrella. I was in traffic and could not pull over so I turned at next street and came around for a pickup. Less than two minutes and she was gone. I circled north and passed by again but gone for good. Turned around to continue south and saw a couple of older tired walkers but passed on all. Recap- hour and a half driving in light rain, saw a few possibilities, several for sures that were missed and lots of water. Oh well, spring should have better pickings.
Question for requlars. About a month ago I saw a good looking 5'4" slim blond dressed in white jeans and white coat with writing on it walking east on Everett by the church. I passed by slowed down and gave her a long look, turned the corner, and then parked ahead of her on the other side of the street. She turned corner stayed on church side and walked ahead and finally crossed street. At the second corner she turned east, stopped and talked with a guy working at the corner. I pulled ahead on theat street and parked but she stayed at the corner, so I asumed I had made a mistake. I then pulled out drove 2 blocks and turned to get back to Burnside to cruise west. Went past FM turned to Everett and repeated looping. When I got almost back to Burnside, there she was walking west. I drove past her looked and turned north and stopped. She continued up Burnside.
So the questions are: does it sound like she was working?
If so, what did I do wrong? - not make enough eye contact, not signal her? Do you recognize her description and know that she has worked before?
Do you think maybe she though I was LE?
I have picked up in the same areas in the same car so I obviously do not standout as LE.

I travel to Portland on business several times a year and have had success cruising thanks to this board. On my last visit 2/22/04 I cruised 82nd and Sandy for an hour or so without success. Finally, on my way back to my hotel near PDX traveling NE on Sandy past 82nd but not yet to the 205 I spotted a young blonde in jeans 5'4" 120lbs. I cruised past her once to check the area for LE and came back around and made a right off of Sandy onto Prescott and waited for her to approach, which she did. However, just as she was about to open the passenger door I spotted a PD cruiser who made a left from Sandy to Prescott. I immediately hit the gas pedal expecting PD to flash their lights. To my unbelievable relief he didn't flash his lights or follow me, instead he stopped for the blonde.
My questions to the board - does Portland PD confiscate cars (I was driving a rental car) ? Can PPD arrest you and/or charge you just for cruising in that area? Can they arrest you and/or cite you if you are caught with a prostitute in your car? Can PPD arrest you or cite you for just talking with prostitute even if she isn't in your car?
P.S. I used to visit a SC called Webb's Pub which appeared to be closed down. It had a very neighborhood feel with some gems (full nudity and alcohol). Can anybody recommend a similar SC near PDX if possible, if not wherever in Portland.

Did a NW cruise last night approx 8 to 9pm, not much out. Saw one really nice girl, tall and thin (5'-6" maybe) jeans, blue "puffy" ski jacket, long brown hair (almost to her butt) with lighter highlights. Thought I should post the experiences of a friend of mine. He told me that he went to the NW stroll and met up with a SW named Angie. Comments he made about NW: He found the NW stroll a strange place to be a monger. There were plenty of ladies out that evening that might have been offended when he drove by slowly. One of them made his heart beat fast because she seemed to fit descriptions posted on WSG, but she put up her hood and kept walking. Then at a stop sign on 17th as he was about to leave one of the ladies he had dismissed kept looking over at his car. She asked if she could have a ride. It was a cold night so he thought he should help her out.

I was having lunch at a mall and I overhead a conversation (guy was talking on a cell phone). The guy was talking about a gal by the name of Red or Lexxxus (that’s how she spelled it) that advertises in the magazines. He picked her up Monday. OK, I admit it, I was letting the little head rule this week.

i have a few topics i want to address, so lets do it.
topic #1: sws.
okay the way i see it the whole thing is a bad deal and a bad deal for portland.
a. the deed is a criminal act and criminally risky for both sides. both worry about the other being le undercover.makes the whole process tense and filled with anxiety. doesnt seem like the ideal conditions for a good experience. i guess some people get off on the danger. but check it, than it isnt about service, but rather meeting a pathological/criminal need to break the law. im not calling everyone a deviant but take a good look at the reality.
b. speaking of pathological/criminal. the sws always have to worry about some sicko, psycho or just plain sociopath hurting them, injuring them, abusing them, murduring them etc. this makes the whole thing more tense and more filled with anxiety. and like i said, not the best conditions for an ideal experience.
on the same side people have to worry about the sws doing the same thing to them. not just the rip off game, but a sw robbing you, stealing your car, injuring you or just plain doing soemthing psycho. and people enjoy this risk?
c. the unstable mental condition of the sw can happen because of drugs. these women are unpredictable because of it and it motivates them. basically money flows through them to drug dealers which brings in more drugs to portland (not a good thing). and if you believe gov propaganda, money to drug dealers goes to terrorists. plus drugs like meth increase the aging and needle use (heroin and meth) means hep c or aids and makes the over all pool of women less healthy, less attractive and puts everyone at risk for stds
d. sws may be in a bad situation other then drugs like a pimp. i think an amp situation or even table dancing allow the women to keep the money they make.
e. ive heard that women come through portland to make money but why would really high class women or good women want to come to portland to work under these conditions? they could go to nevada and work on a ranch like other porn star quaility women who give porn star quality experiences. or girls that work in amps and other more controlled environments who make $1-2 for fs. why come here and walk the streets making less then the half the money? fresh women from foreign countries come/are brought into america to work in these more controlled environments. could you imagine if women from aroud the country and world came to portland becasue the situatioin here was good? this factor of crappy venues results in a decrease the overall quality of the pool of women also.
f. this desperation for money because of low prices, drugs, external pressures (pimps) results in more unsafe practices as no protection ussually results in higher prices. this means that the sw that went raw with hundreds or maybe thousands of guys does so with a guy that has gone raw with hundreds of sws.? then add in the iv drug use factor. do the math. its both very dumb and dangerous. women in more controlled environments in us and other countries practice better safety precautions.
g. the sw game leads the way to ****d sws which is a sad but very reall fact in portland. plus can you imagine being busted with a minor? you would be screwed on many levels and plus its just plain wrong to vicitmize a child/teen like that.
h. the whole thing is hit or miss? you have no idea if you will be sucessful or not? then people have to put alot of time, energy and risk into hoping that soemthing might happen. controlled environments takes the whole hit or miss factor out of the equation.
i question the whole sw game and people in it.
do yall get off on the danger? i mean there is risk from many angles. i mean the whole experience can be more stisfying, ejoyable, etc.
is it the hit or miss thing of random reinforcement that is addictive like gambling? i mean there all these reports of people going out and saying it was slow or nothing there.
so instead of just bitching about thye whole sw situation i propose some thoughts on how things can get better.
a. i've heard conflicting and inconsistent info on the whole escort situation. i know it will be more expensive and that rip offf happen quite frequently. i've heard some good things about it but you put yourself in atough situation, especially if she has a pimp, shadow or security there. can anyone give me some feed back on this?
b. the fv situation last year was a promising step towards something better as far as taking it off the streeet and puttting it into a more controled environment. i wonder about thiings in a city with video places with glory holes, gay bathhouses and gay movie theaters where gay sex occurs 24/7 and some how this is cool with le. yet le will harass sws and people driving around?
c. lingerie modeling places have potential but i have heard mixed reports about those places too, that mostly you pay alot of money for nothing. the amp setting would be even better.
d. indian reservations allow gambling and make money off of casinos. now what if they did the same thing with a ranch style arrangement like in nevada, where you drive out to the middle of no where to a safe, secure place?
e. fight the drug problem, not the prostitution "problem" in portland. the way i see it sw game puts money in the hands of addicts who then put money in the hands of dealers. thats why you always got the request to stop off of a at place so they can get high before hand or just plain rip you off. im stupid as i dont believe that the drug probelm can ever be "solved", but it can be changed.if you take drugs out of it then the whole prostitution game would change and would change for the better.
so give me your comments on the issues i address. im sure this post will piss people off but lets stop and think about the state of things in portland.

A few notes about the NW Stroll this week:
With the warmer weather I have been seeing a few more providers out and around when I check it out about 9 - 10 pm on weekdays. But it seems that almost every night this week there was LE with someone stopped on the back side of FM (East side of the garage). Be careful out there. I've been avoiding making the SAME loop too many times in a row.
One observation I wanted to make was that there are a lot more provocitive women out there recently. However, many of them are neighborhood "ladies" who either dress that way or seem to be on their way to one of the increasing number of clubs in the Oldtown/Pearl District area. Note to self - spend more time looking at their actions than their dress. I had a few false alarms, but there have been more SW's out this week, too.
Saturday night I ended up going for a ride with a somewhat shopworn lady of about 25 years, jeans, sweatshirt, heavy freckles, awfully skinny, and businesslike but not particularly friendly. Discussed life and the pros and cons of why anyone might want to give CBJ's in a car for .25, then returned her to 19 & Davis. Serviceable, but not worth a return trip.
Notably, on my last trip around the block about 7:30 PM, I saw what might have been the lady Randy heard about, but in front of the church. (Was the mini skirt bright blue?) Seeker741, If I could I would like to address my attraction to the SW scene. I live in Seattle but have mongered in Portland, but the dynamics you mentioned are basically the same anywhere you go. I'll respond to your lettered a,b,c,d, etc with the same corresponding letters.
A) I don't worry about the gal being LE. If she gets in my car she is not LE and even if we do get busted its a minor offense. Small fine; no jail time; basically a slap on the wrist. Having picked up hundreds and hundreds without getting busted, I feel relatively safe. Most of the girls don't seem too worried out it either. Perhaps a little danger can be exciting just look at all the extreme athletes. Also, escort and AMP's also get busted frequently and the names of the customers get leaked out.
B) I'm the kind of guy who can instantly put a SW at ease. At that point she is no longer apprehensive and it makes for a better date. Besides a lot of the time I am a repeat customer. And I've never had too much trouble with a SW going psycho on me. At least nothing a twenty dollar bill couldn't handle.
C) Drug addicts will find a way to purchase their drugs. If they aren't prostituting they are shoplifting, robbing, whatever. Also, I'm running into a lot of young, good-looking SW's that don't use drugs at all.
D) There are not enough AMP's or tittie bars around to accomodate all the SW's who would like to be in a better situation.
E) Women can easily make more money on the street than they can in Nevada or working for escort services because these services charge too much. I've picked up numerous SW's who also worked for escort services but are on the street because business is really slow and they're lucky if they get a couple of dates a day. Once again, there are just not enough brothels in Nevada to accomodate all the hot gals that would like to work there.
F) Use condoms then.
G) I ask for ID
H) Life is hit or miss. Sometimes the chase is as fun as the score. And my experience is that its usually more hit than miss.
I guess some guys are hooked on the risk and the danger and the hunt. I know I am. Also, for someone who likes to get laid several times a week the street action makes more sense financially. I've never found the one hundred dollar CBJ to be more satisfying that the twenty dollar one. I like the selection and variety on the street. I like not knowing who I will pick up that night.
Solving the drug problem would be nice but it seems to be as plausible as chasing the wind. Just as there will always be prostitution, there will be drug use as well. Perhaps legalizing drugs and expanding methadone programs would help get some prostitutes off the street, but for a lot of women, especially the hot non-drug using ones, its the money that they're hooked on as well as the life style.
BTW, Yours was an outstanding and thought provoking post. You make some excellent and well though out points. It might have been well-received in the morality of prostitution section.

A few thoughts - I will not address all of your concerns, but those that I feel are relevant.
1) It does not sound like you are cut out for mongering. Don't do it then.
2) Your concern for the rest of us is appreciated. Condoms are not "optional", nonetheless, I still get an annual check from the Multnomah County STD clinic (many std's have no symptoms in males). But I wanted to throw my two cents in and comment on a good observation that was made by Photo Dude. It is true that some women work the streets not just for the money, but for the thrill of getting a man off. 1) "Criminal" behavior is any act that violates criminal laws. It has virtually no connection to "right" or "wrong". What we do is generally against the law in the United States. It is legal throughout Europe and most of Asia. The only time I was ever arrested by law enforcement was for violating the racial segregation laws of the State of Texas. Was I "right" or was I "wrong"?
2) You tell us that, IYHO, SWs are bad for Portland. If you have some leisure time, read a book or two on the history of the growth of cities in the Western US. At critical points in their history Chicago, Denver, Seattle, and San Francisco all permitted prostitution as a civic good. In 1880 in Washington Territory, Port townsend was the major port; Olympia was the business/industrial center, and Tacoma was the rail hub. All Seattle had was a saw mill, some lawyers, and a lot of hookers. By 1900 Seattle was larger in population than the other three combined, and has never looked back.
Finally, your original comments betray a view of SWs as victims. The texture of the human psyche is so varied and complex that I dare suggest you talk to a few SWs before passing judgment. And always remember that mongering isn't for everybody; if you don't have fun, it's not worth doing.

seeker, in going back to my psychology 101 days i recall that random reinforcement is a powerful tool. i see guys cruising strolls that haven't produced a sw in years because that is what they're used to. inconsistency only means that some nights will be better than others.

OK, I've been watching your room now for about 2 years and only posted once or twice. First of all, let me thank you graciously for the service you provide keeping the annonymous johns informed. I visit the Rose City occassionally and always get a thrill of the hunt and rare reward.
Before I report on the local scene, please help me with this question. While a recent post talked about going to the bars on ladies night, it made me more curious about the Prtlnd girls in the bars. Historicaly, the strip clubs have been very much "look but don't touch." While there are some ladies who will offer a little bit of mileage, the more frequent response if you even try to touch varies from "don't do that" to her throwing a fit that will have you thrown out. IF the bar has a private place for table dances, and IF you spend a lot on a lady, and IF she is so inclined, you MIGHT get a feel or a touch from her, IF no one is watching. Better bet for something beyond a tease is on the street.
If you are simply looking for high mileage table/couch dances, there are a few places known for that. There was an article in the Oregonian a few months ago about places being in trouble with the state liquor board for allowing touching between dancers and customers, we might try to look that up. Have had good luck at the Boom Boom room on SW Barbur Blvd, but there were others listed. At any club, you might have better luck in the afternoons or other slack times for making a date for later. You will have the opportunity for more personal attention and conversation when you are the only customer or very few are present. By the way, while there might be more good looking women at Stars and other flashy clubs, they know it there and charge accordingly. Hotties know that they are hotties. Your dollar might be better spent at the Acropolis or one of the smaller working class bars. Better yet, out on the strolls.
My opinion -- "good clubs":
-- Dolphin & Viewpoint -- best of the "high class" places. But you will pay a lot and only get to look.
-- The Acropolis, but not during a busy time. A big but working class bar, lots of room to spread out, best shot at getting lucky and finding a date.
-- Many of the smaller bars -- depends upon who is working, and how much money they need today.
-- BUT, nothing will ever actually happen within the establishment. And be careful, if you ask the wrong person for a date, you might have to leave quickly.
Back to the subject of the board, notwithstanding all of the above, I have been asked by a dancer if I "date" on two occasions in the last 10 years. Both dates occurred outside the club, after her shift, once in a room and once at a nearby Fantasy Video. However, in both these cases, I was known by them to be a regular, I had spent a lot of $$ on them already, and had spent time conversing with them on multiple visits. The strip clubs are totally hit or miss. As Beetle reported the "higher" class strip clubs are to get you worked up only and a lot poorer.

So I guess I'll add another tale of woe. I went out on Friday night between 10:30 and midnight, and I cruised the east side, as is my usual custom. I have a question about Portland Police stings on Tuesday or Thursday nights in the PFZ.
About a year and a half ago on a Thursday night I was cruising the Portland strolls and was driving west on Sandy about 16th when I spotted a great looking blond in a cowgirl hat and a busty black girl standing north of Sandy on an angle street waving at cars to attract attention. 5+ years ago the MO of Portland LE was to conduct weekly or biweekly undercover stings against the girls on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The stings against the Johns were on Friday and Saturday late afternoon and through the evenings about once a month.
The monger map is a good strategy but you should never talk to a SW until she is in your vehicle and the both of you are driving away. Since she got into YOUR vehicle proving she was not a cop (for safety reasons cops will never ride with you). As a monger YOU need to come clean and perform an un-prompted intrusive cop check by touching her bare genitals.
A good john will scold a SW for asking you to perform the cop check because the act of her asking for the verification is behavior indicative of prostitution loitering and will at the least result in the SW receiving a 90 day exclusion at the very least. SW who get in the habit of asking for the check will eventually be excluded and all Johns will loose out.

I very rarely report on the site because I'm not much of a monger. but live in the NW neighborhood. I was out around 9:45 tonight and saw what appeared to be a police sting in NW. Particulary, about 4 cop cars were around Burnside and PGE Park around the Kingston bar. They were questioning 2 girls. both VERY attractive. One blond that one would never suspect to be a SW and another very attractive black woman, around 20-22 years old, tight body, school girl plaid skirt and black top. Definetly good prospects if they aren't police officers. Hard to tell as I was just passing by.

Observations and thoughts about NW Portland on a sunny Saturday afternoon:
I took a lap or two around NW about 4 - 5 pm on Saturday. Take a look at all of those low-cut tops and short skirts! So many skirts just up to THERE, and one young lady who was quite distracting whth just a fraction of an inch of tight buttocks showing just below the skirt hem -- and no visible sign of undergarments. It was heaven!
The fact is, though, I don't think I saw one SW the whole time. The Pearl District and NW 23rd Ave have become places where the "beautiful people" hang out and want to "be seen". Many of them walk through our prime stroll territory going between the two places.
One of the reasons that Portland LE has given over the years for enforcing prostitution laws is that our neighborhoods need to be free from mongers pulling over to gawk at citizens (who might or might not be provocatively dressed) who happen to be out taking a walk and harrassing them by asking if they are SW's. This is how the neighbors on Sandy Blvd got together 10 years ago and dried up that formerly productive place to find some action. This might explain why the LE presence was so high this weekend.
My suggestion: Please be reasonably sure that the ladies you pull over for are actually looking for business. If we start asking every lady who looks like a SW if they are one, and too many of them turn out to be civillians just out for a walk on a hot Summer evening, we will ensure ourselves of a long Summer of LE enforcement.

Your statement about the neighborhood harrassed by the hobbyists thus triggering LE action does not make sense at all. It is a misinformed statement at best.
Two Reasons. #1. Most hobbyists (can't say 100%) but majority of hobbyists are very discrete and quiet when they cruise to help out the SW, they look for non verbal cues from the girls. Sustained eye contacts, smile and many other body languages, as whether the girl approach the vehicle etc. No hobbyists would be so dumb to make proposition to any girls, SW or otherwise without some non verbal cues conveyed by the girls. Hobbyists definitely don't want to create a situation whereby a regular girl is mistaken to be SW. LE sting is one big reason. #2. In most cases, hobbyists wait for the girl to make a pass prior to stop the vehicle to pick up the girl. You hardly find hobbyists stop vehicle and making verbal messages to the girls indiscretely on the street. To say that the neighborhood girls got harrassed by hobbyists is totally unheard of and follow the same political left mantra of "clean up the neighborhood".
LE sting operation exists with or without neighborhood complaints. Just check 82nd and NW stroll off Burnside. These stroll far removed from any residential neighborhood yet, LE kept harrassing SW. All at the same time, further down Burnside, you had many shootings in one month with multiple murders going on. The cops still have no clue.
fatsoNot, I completely agree with Beetle Bug and will tell you it happens all the time. For some mongers any attractive single gal near a stroll is a target. They will often slow down and rubber neck and often stop. It scares the non-working girls to death. I had a buddy who lived near Pacific Highway once and his wife and daughter would often catch the bus there. They had to make a habit of keeping their eyes down and not look towards traffic. Even so, nearly every day two or three guys would stop and ask. A couple were even so bold (when she said to f-off that they were just waiting for the bus) to say "well if you change your mind there's fifty bucks in it for you." And personally I see guys do it all the time.
Another common question I see from newbies is "how can you tell if a girl is working", indicating to me that they've tryed to pick up a civilian in error. I've noticed that the non experienced hobbiest has trouble picking up the slight nod, eye contact, and subtle signs the SW gives off. So many SW's are so afraid of being busted they give off virtually no signs at all. You just have to drive to the next corner and hope they come over.
There's even been quite a few reports on the WSG that I've read by guys saying how embarrassing it is to mistakenly try and pick up a non-working girl. I've seen it myself. A lot of us kind of get in a sort of an addictive trance cruising around out there and after a few hours without luck do things they might not ordinarily do.
Another big mistake a lot of mongers make is discarding the condom on the street or wherever you park. When a business/homeowner/citizen/kid/pet, etc finds a discarded condom or ten in front of their place, you can bet they call LE. I remember pulling into one spot I thought was good and noticed literally dozens of used condoms littering the ground.
I believe that most mongers are responsible. But if you have a thousand mongers in Seattle or Portland (which is a really low guess) and only 1 out of 20 are irresponsible and try to pick up anyone or indiscriminately discard condoms -- that's fifty guys out there giving us a bad name.
Then of course are the wannabe pimps, drug use, increased traffic, crime, urinating in public that always occurs in any area where streetwalking flourishes. I've picked up a gazillion hookers but would not want them in my neighborhood.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if a girl is working or not. If I am not sure if a girl is working or not sometimes I will park and walk up to the girl and just say hello. This works well if she is at a bus stop. Quite often the girl will ask what's up. I will answer, just seeing what's out here.

Thanks to everyone who attended my Easter service.
After church I took a drive along Sandy to Burnside & back. It was impossible not to notice an older (35 or so) babe with long brown/red hair and a black leather or vinyl miniskirt working it in front of the Burnside Walgreens. She had an attitude like "I'm either going to get a customer in five minutes, or get arrested in five minutes." Could have been part of a sting, she was so obvious.

Oh come on Civ. target??? For "most" younger Males driving in the big city, on a sunny day, any attractive Female "anywhere" is worth a look. Mongers, hookers, or otherwise. Gals who are scared to death of being noticed by guys, should consider becoming Nuns... ( right Father? :) ) or remove makeup, whack hair, strap on the army boots and go Lezzbo.
Guys I mostly agree with Fatso. These women can't have it both ways. They want to dress sexy, wear a push-up bra, short skirt, naughty heels and purple lipstick - then complain about guys out girl-watching?
Also there's lots of guys of different ages who are rube mongers, newbies. Window shoppers. And first timer girls who, just like the rubes, get a little scared/ cautious... but have been "thinking about it".. daring themselves to have some anonymous sex AND earn that cool cash. Jeez, look in the popular weekly rags - page after page of sexy girls / ad's for escorts / you name it. Word gets around and girls these days keep pretty well informed - there's good money to be made.
The same high society "good girls" who would biitch ( and fantasize ) about a Monger giving them the eye... are busy with plans for gold-digging some rich dude. Same old games are being played with pussy being given, or withheld, depending on the size of a man's wallet.
I'm not talking about assholes. Any dude who would jam on his brakes, roll down the window and holler "Hey bay-bee, how bout a date!!" is a jerk anyway. Guys who would harrass women on the street like this, are not true mongers and will soon get busted, and rightly so. With LE these days, a self respecting hobbyist acts very discrete to avoid trouble. Same with the better girls... by the same token I avoid any boozed up hoe standing on the curb waving at cars. Bad date waiting to happen.

Out for a drive Saturday afternoon and hooked up with Cheryl in NW. Great un-rushed service, nice body, great rack.
Also noticed two young blondes on Everett, looked to be 20 or so? Cutest one had blue (I think) short capri type pants and white tee shirt, straight blonde hair, other one dressed close to same. Both extremely attractive and obviously looking. Looked to good to be true so took a couple close looks and passed. Anyone else see them?

Speaking of seeing girls that one is uncertain about, it happened with me this past Friday. The weather was nice and sunny, so I decided to come home via 82nd, hoping that the honeys would be out in force. Indications were good when I saw two middle-aged workers just north of Johnson Creek. Unfortunately, both had faces that looked like something out of the demented imagination of Clive Barker. Ouch! Hell no, they would have to pay me!
I still felt encouraged, though, since most of the strip lay before me. Up ahead I spied a nice pair of legs in white skimpy white shorts. She had that slightly bow-legged gait that is indicative of Asian women. Knowing that the chances of her actually being a worker were slim to none, I still turned around and drove by her. I caught her eye, and she held my gaze longer than a typical girl just walking on the street would do, but she did not smile. She was very cute, but she soon headed down a side street, and my wishful thinking was terminated.
Having a little circumspection is the key, as others have already suggested here. It is not that difficult to ascertain whether a girl is working or not with very non-threatening techniques. I never really worry about looking at girls on the street, they are on display and if they don't want anyone to look, they should stay indoors. Many times I find that they return my smile and are flattered and pleased that I am enjoying their appearance. Don't act freaky and threatening, and no one will feel frightened or oppressed.
Continuing on my route, I was disappointed to find only two pinch-faced regulars who I have never stopped for. They were not as bad as the earlier pair, but I would only consider them for a BJ in a desperate moment. Alas, no young nubile girls showed themselves, and I made my way home.
Fortunately, a girl I met on the internet is ready to suck me dry and swallow all that I can deliver, free of charge or other encumbrances. She is what you might charitably call a BBW, but I don't give a damn if she can give head as well as she claims. We have an appointment for Saturday morning, so I will let you mongers know how it cums along. (Yes, I have been very careful, I have checked her out thoroughly and have known her for about six months.)

Congratulations to all but about 9 mongers that figured out that there was a sting operation going on this last Easter weekend. The lesson to be learned is do not speak to a SW unless she is in YOUR vehicle. Streetwalkers that do not move more than 50 feet are probably cops. Girls who only talk through your window regardless of how gorgeous they are aren’t worth it. The only way she satisfies her end of the cop check is if she is in your vehicle while you are BOTH driving away.
According to a reliable source, there is going to be yet another sting (this time against the females) on portions of 82nd on Tuesday 04/13/2004.

The SW both looked similar and hung out together like they were on a powder puff team. On Saturday they both wore baby blue. On Sunday I only saw one on a cell phone on 82nd wearing similar style clothing but pink. Both had a difficult time getting picked up. Likely because anything that looks above a "six" everybody is afraid is an undercover cop.
