I'm no GM, but some do sit without asking for a drink. However, these KBGs are more like friends and don't want to sit in the bullpen while waiting for their customer to come in. I usually get them a good luck drink and many times, they sit for an hour, or something close to it, talking story. There are quite a few that are definitely KBG and customer just sitting around, and my gf confirmed that the customer gives the girl $xxx. She gets one drink and keeps the rest of money without getting another drink. Hell, my gf did that to her customers, too. LOL.

Summit lot is a mess, stay away. I have seen tow trucks at Makaloa area a few occasions.
904 is a place to go in Kalihi. Lots of beauties.
Vegas has nothing good there. Julie runs a good big bar. She brings out lots of food.

Korea is a pretty cool place and all types of foods are actually readily available. All except Hawaiian and Filipino which I really like and missed. Hostess bars there are known as room salons and the talent is unreal. I can't even think of any Hawaii BG that would even compare to some of the lower end talent in Seoul. None of them at older than 30 and they all look like K-pop stars. Prices are more pricey but we'll worth it. H.Brother Hinode, I stopped by Friday night about 11 and she wasn't there. The place looked pretty slow so she must have left for greener pastures. I went by last night about 10 and there was no parking, so I can't report on her. But, as I have said before, there are much better out there to waste your money and time on.

I prefer Oolong over green tea (darker brown blend). Just know it's going to be a similar price to any alcohol you might order (figure around $5). That holds true in any of the bars, vietnamese or korean. I highly suggest you read the "Tactics" thread or go with an experienced wingman. I've seen so many "new to the bar scene" guys all pissed off that they spent so much money and got nothing. Guys thinking that they dropped a hundred or two or more thinking they're going to take the girl home. Short answer is maybe. You are renting time from the girl when you pay for the $20 drinkee. That's it, nothing more. Some girls play "rub your thigh" or stroke junior during that time, some don't. You will get pressured to buy more drinkees, you will get signals that she is implying more, you will get tagged as her customer (so choose wisely). Stay polite, just say "no" when you've reached your level of monetary pain and move on if needed. Kapiolani girls are more aggressive than Kalihi girls for the most part. Vietnamese girls are more expensive, but give a lot more play. NEVER run a tab, pay as you go. Good luck.

.I wasn't going to mention it but since it's in the open; yes I've seen the Super-Moke animals around there too, and saw inside the room a little bit. You don't want to provoke guys (eg. by simply arguing your rights) who likely have been in the joint before and will assault someone never mind the consequences. They don't function like regular people and cannot be expected to be reasonable.
Maybe any of their regs are given preference over a KB customer, and in that way the whole portion of the lot is for the game room and subject to their enforcement, who knows.

SS.Hoban rings a bell but I can't picture it. I have clear fun memories of Seiko; we need more bars like that. Johnny is no longer able to attract good talent anymore, unlike when he had SP and SPII. If the superblock wasn't there, perhaps many hostess bars still would be. There aren't any classy places anymore, such as Vichon.

Anyway, future KB, CB, and VB owners when work at that location at one time or another (they when learn good from Ann and Patty). Had some KBs and nightclubs along Kona Street, right across Ala Moana Center, way before now Nordstrom, Bankoh, etc. Had one cigar shop with walk-in humidor, too.
Kapiolani Bakery was popular with old fashioned pastries, pies, cakes, the works (butter rolls was big and buttery, not like nowadays skimpy and dry); when taste ono because hard work went into making everything; owners and workers were also good people (that all adds to the ono flavor). JR knows the good stuff.

Beav.Bars are dying for a reason, and IMHO that reason is the lousy girls as others have discussed over time. I do not know what excuses girls use these days, but back then Nekohana was claimed to be a first "good luck drink" since they got to work, which today's girls still say even if you just saw them in the room or hustling $20 drinks or carrying the 5-drink ($100) special. Other girls referred to it meaning just a $5 drink.
AFAIK they're lady drinks but I've seen customers buy the male bartender a "nekohana".
There are probably other meanings but to be honest I never paid much heed to that word. It only mattered if she was asking for a 5, 10 or $20 drink, where we would sit and how she looked and was wearing; also was she new to me (Fee Fi Fo Fum: I smell BS), or has she been building a solid track record. Stuff like that.
