I heard Thursday nights were the HOT sting nights. I went cruising tonight (friday after 1200am) and there were no cops around, but tons of Longs girls.

Has anyone met or "dated" a Longs girl named Kelly? She is a very hot blond with a very very attractive face! She asked me if I could give her a ride and drop her off somewhere in Kalihi; I said no problem. She is very outgoing and friendly, almost making me think she didn't walk the streets for a living. Be cautious. I drove through length of Kukui today at 9:00am, 10:00am and at 2:00pm (not mongering, work took me through there) today. At 9:00, there were a few BSW's, a WSW and a few TS's. At 10:00 they were gone and the area was covered with unmarked LE SUVs. At 2:00, there was an unmarked SUV at each end of Kukui and 2 WSW's standing by river. The whole scene had sting written all over it, but I could be wrong.

From what I have heard from the "regulars", the LE heat is picking up there and more stings are being done lately. My personal theory about the most recent listings here: it might be because it is the "end of the month" and most hoes who hang together usually have the "monthly bill" at the same time. Also, because of the stings, most SWs are being busted, so.....

I do see Renee out a lot these days and I am sure she could corner the market if she was alittle more friendly. Has anyone ever had an experience with her? If so, what was the style like? service?

For guys who can appreciate chubby girls, Tasha may be a good choice. She sometimes works downtown at night on Kukui Street (in the section between Aala Street and Maunakea Street), and she also may occasionally be found on Aala Street (Diamond Head side, near Kukui Street). She's a local girl with a nice brown complexion and pretty eyes. She seems to be in her late teens or early twenties. Friendly personality, usually cheerful and smiling, and relatively intelligent. I went cruisin late Thursday night and it was dead (and not even one TS walking). I drove around for 30 minutes, then as I was about to head home, I passed by the bus stop fronting the Chinese restaurant on Beretania St. and saw Brenda. The "cast of characters" on the downtown scene continually changes from month to month, as some providers leave for various reasons and are replaced by new arrivals. Two relatively recent arrivals have been Cheryl and T. Both of them seem to be in their early or middle twenties.

Cheryl is hapa haole, with a rather light complexion and a medium build. She's fairly intelligent and quite experienced. She knows how to please a man, and may even enjoy her work under the right circumstances. One additional note: "Bus Stop Girl," previously discussed in this forum, has expanded her range. Although she still sits at the bus stop near the makai / Diamond Head corner of the Nuuanu Avenue / Kukui Street intersection, she now also works on Kukui Street, all the way from the Pali corner to the Chinese Cultural Plaza area.

Spun through downtown around 10:30 tonight. Couple of girls behind Longs. 1 tall blond haole over 5'8" even taller in her heels very skinny. Another possibly korean brunette about 5' with her. Both looked about mid 20s. Either would have been promising if it wasn't so crowded and obvious.

There were two cars pulled on the side of the road parking lights on, foot on the brake and trying to get their attention. One of them was across the street trying to do this. I hope they don't get busted though because as I rolled to the nuuanu intersection there was a car parked in the last stall with a guy watching the goings on while trying to look discrete and not even coming close to it. If your sitting in a car with untinted windows and only the top of your head visible down to your eyes you're not doing a good enough job hiding if you're under a street light. One or both of those girls could be LE.

Drove down Nuuanu and there were 3 blondes all looked into their 40s below Beretania. Didn't stop to talk to any of them. Didn't see anything else in the area. On the edges there seemed to be a lot of Blue & Whites cruising though. On Punchbowl, Nimitz, far side of Aala Park, Liliha, and Vineyard. Took some longer loops since I was hoping to not look as obvious as others.

As far as I know, the police will not arrest you merely for talking with a streetwalker (presuming that she isn't an undercover police officer) or for seeing a streetwalker enter your car. However, if a police officer sees you pick up a streetwalker he may choose to stop you, ask for your driver's license and car registration, question you and the streetwalker (sometimes in a hostile manner), order the streetwalker to get out of your car, check for outstanding warrants, etc. That happened to me several times over the years in the downtown area, and of course it isn't a pleasant experience. So stay very alert and observant -- if you see any police officers in the vicinity, it's best not to talk to streetwalkers or let a streetwalker into your car.





Also, what about if you have your session and are dropping your SW off on the curb and cops see the girl coming out of your car. Will they stop you? Can you get in trouble for this?
Personally, I've never been stopped by the police when in the process of dropping off a streetwalker, although I imagine the police could do so. It's preferable to drop off the streetwalker in a discreet location, and to have the streetwalker leave your car as quickly as possible (rather than to sit in the car talking, even for a brief period of time). Also, the streetwalker can put the passenger seat down and fully recline when your car is in the downtown area, making her less visible to the police.

It is generally a good thing to be more paranoid than not when participating in an illegal activity. For some better info, RTFF in other cities as they have some great past posts which will up your street knowledge significantly without learning the hard way.

There has been an unusual amount of heat out lately with the newest nazi being that black/dark colored suburban. He is doing circles occasionally through both the merchant street as well as the kukui street tracks. It seems that he either does the stop by himself and calls the blue and white or the blue and whites do the stop and call him for more info on what he has seen.

I can't say from experience about actual citations/criminal charges but I am pretty sure that they can try and arrest you for solicitation for talking to the SW but I doubt it would hold up in court unless it was a UC or you are stupid enough to say the wrong thing(once again RTFF for more info).

I never used to worry about cruising but after being pulled over a few times DT it seems they are watching who is looking for SW's and are being a lot more aggressive. I have been harassed a few times for pulling up to talk to a SW even though I didn't stop or even talk to the girl so be careful. If you are seen talking to a SW they will light you up and run checks on your car and person. Do NOT give them any reason to search as they like to look in the car with a flashlight for probable cause and a do more thorough search.

Your not alone, its normal to have those feelings of paranoia and being anxious. In some cities girls will drive their cars and give you the look if she thinks your mongering then she'll ask you to follow to a well lit place to talk business, although, I have yet to see that practice happen here. If you see a sw you dig, pull over, get her phone number then arrange for something later. There is nothing in the law that says its a violation to pull over to speak with a prostitute. If the police do harass you call the american civil liberties union and file a claim against the cities finest.

If LE thinks you are looking for prostitutes, they will keep an eye on you,
and stop you for any traffic violations - also to check for DUIs, since
many mongers starts hunting after bar visits.

If you pick up a working girl, LE may cite you for picking up a hitchhiker,
which I believe is illegal in HI. If you claim you and the girl already know each
other, they may question you, but it is unlikely that they will try to arrest you for soliciting a prostitute unless they can prove that you offered money for sexual services. The main risks are undercover SWs and, as mentioned in the post below, that the SW has drugs, which you do NOT want to be found in your car.

To me these risks are not worth it. AMPs are more expensive, but cleaner and less of a problem with residents and with LE than street prostitution.

Police patrol activity in the downtown area can occur at any time, so you should stay vigilant even if you're cruising for providers around 5 a.m.

Regarding prostitution "sting" operations in the downtown area with female undercover officers trying to attract customers, personally I've only observed them in the afternoon and relatively early evening. Perhaps the police perform the sting operations at those times so that guys who can't make the $1000 cash bail will have to spend the night locked up in the cellblock before going to court in the morning (just a theory of mine).

Got into a fight with a young punk in Waikiki last night and before going home, I decided to drop by DT to blow off some steam. I drive by following a blue and white, and there were quite a few girls out. I am weary of LE, but then I see a cute Asian girl standing on the side. I stop and see that it is Emi from Japan. The word I got is that there's a lot of political pressure on HPD to clean up Kukui. The July 06 shooting didn't help but with voice of neighborhood groups being heard and the new high rise soon to be occupied by some of Hawaii's elite, the HPD brass have been strenuously encouraged to make Kukui whole again. Take it for what its worth but it will be sometime before Kukui/DT will be "safe" for DT mongers but we should also embrace for the possiiblity that Kukui will never ever be the same again.

Yes, beware of that area behind longs. Had something on tv the other month, the manager at kukui plaza took videos of the girls behind longs and the johns from on top of the parking lot and gave them to LE. Hailing from the West Side, this doesnt surprise me. Not the least bit. However, like Bobby G, I have a few questions:

Where were the SWs? Was the filipina girl a real girl>? When I used to live out that side, there were some mahu's who used to cruise at that shopping center where Leeward Drive Inn is (was?) by the Shell service station.

Last night (Wednesday), I saw the big dark SUV make three vehicle stops in the downtown area within about one hour. None of the stopped vehicles contained working girls, so presumably the stops were for alleged driving violations. Guys, if you see that SUV around, be especially careful about your driving.

Good points. From a law enforcement perspective, making vehicle stops late at night in the downtown area not only generates more traffic tickets and helps to deter prostitution activity, but can also sometimes lead to arrests for DUI, drugs, warrants, etc.

I was passing Kukui Plaza yesterday afternoon, when I saw SWAT and a bunch of cops on the Pali Hwy. end of Kukui St. Some of the cops were wearing masks and I saw at least three guys in handcuffs. Don't know if it was a drug bust or not; I just thought it was unusual for that time of day. I also heard that Kukui Plaza will be adding at least one more camera along the Kukui St. side of the building.

Spun through downtown around 10:30 tonight. Couple of girls behind Longs. 1 tall blond haole over 5'8" even taller in her heels very skinny. Another possibly korean brunette about 5' with her. Both looked about mid 20s. Either would have been promising if it wasn't so crowded and obvious.

There were two cars pulled on the side of the road parking lights on, foot on the brake and trying to get their attention. One of them was across the street trying to do this. If LE thinks you are looking for prostitutes, they will keep an eye on you, and stop you for any traffic violations - also to check for DUIs, since
many mongers starts hunting after bar visits.

If you pick up a working girl, LE may cite you for picking up a hitchhiker,
which I believe is illegal in HI. If you claim you and the girl already know each
other, they may question you, but it is unlikely that they will try to arrest you for soliciting a prostitute unless they can prove that you offered money for sexual services. The main risks are undercover SWs and, as mentioned in the post below, that the SW has drugs, which you do NOT want to be found in your car.

To me these risks are not worth it. AMPs are more expensive, but cleaner and less of a problem with residents and with LE than street prostitution.So very true, just last week, there were a new bunch of SW (2 chubby asians & 2-3 haoles) walking behind Longs, which to the old timer cruising, something no look right. Sure enough, LE/Blue&Whites were on Nuuanu & in the Safeway parking lot. So, be careful, or better yet, AMP, or call a provider. If it feels not safe, trust your instincts.

Undercover prostitution sting leads to four arrests

An area in Chinatown well-known for prostitutes was the scene of an undercover sting today.

Four men were arrested.

Rather than targeting the prostitutes or pimps, police today targeted the customers, otherwise known as "johns."

The cellblock at HPD Headquarters was busy during lunchtime, as police booked four men for street solicitation.

They include 45-year old [Name deleted by Admin].

[Name deleted by Admin] of Kapolei, whom police say was driving a tow truck.

All were busted during an undercover sting operation to crack down on prostitution in Chinatown.

"We do a two fold operation, we can use female undercover officers or do reverse buys with male officers riding plain clothes cars. So we do both," said Honolulu Police Lt. Fabian Loo.

In this latest sting, several female officers posed as prostitutes near the corner of North Kukui and Aala for a couple hours during lunchtime.

And they waited for customers to proposition them.

"You actually have to have some kind of cost with a service included so there has to be a price with a service," said Loo.

Police say they try to do these types of stings frequently as part of the Weed and Seed program -- to clean up the area.

"I think one of the main excuses or most common ones is look how they're dressed what do you expect form us, standing on the corner and they forget they're the ones who stopped propositioned for money," said Loo.

Street solicitation carries a penalty of up to a year in jail and up to $1000 in fines.

"Sometimes prostitution and gambling they think it's the norm of society and we want the people to know especially the people in that area that the HPD cares about them and we don't condone that type of behavior," said Loo.

The four men arrested for street solicitation today were all charged, with bail set at $1000.

That's a good point, which I should have mentioned in my prior message. If a hobbyist suspects that an unknown streetwalker might be an undercover, he can carefully survey the surrounding areas for law enforcement vehicles and officers. They may be present not only in parking lots, but also in places where they can better hide from view, such as behind a wall of a building.

For example, one day I observed a "streetwalker" on the Diamond Head side of Aala Street (a favorite police sting location). I had never seen her before, and she seemed more attractive than the usual streetwalkers in that area, so I was suspicious. Deciding to take a look around, I eventually drove into the parking lot of a large apartment building on the Ewa side of Aala Street. Hiding in an area next to the building that wasn't easily visible from Aala Street, there they were: two police vehicles and a group of officers, waiting for someone to take the "bait."

My office used to be on Smith street in the 80's and we would always get propositioned after work while walking to our cars. Magnum PI used to film frequently on hotel street, and the joke among us was that, that was the only time there were attractive hookers on hotel street, whenever Magnum PI was filming.

Found out the reason for the major clean up of DT. Apparently, that new plex that is going up where the old Kurobara, and Town Inn is getting renovated and turned into a 'better condo' for the area. There are plans in the works for the area to become a 'Gateway for the Cruise Liners'. (How this will work with all the low income housing is making me wonder if my source is a bit faulty.) But it would suggest a major reason why the clean up has begun. My source, also says that it might not work (like so many other government ventures). But business owners in the general area are now offered low cost business loans to 'renovate'. This is a 'long term goal' that the city is supposed to be planning. The plans are to creep up from the Aloha Tower side and start cleaning up.

I'd say this will either cause a rise in the appearance of better SW, or those who look good to stick around. Only problem I see is this will cause the 'Waikiki Refugees' to take over, and probably instead of seeing the little gems in the rough, the higher grade pimps and SW will be out. Prices will probably rise if this scenario happens.

Now it depends on how long they can keep it up, which is why they are ticketing like crazy. If you park down there for other reasons, make sure you put enough money in the meter. Drive carefully, and keep an eye out. The other day, I saw 6 LE in each section of Kukui St, from Longs, Mort, and Temple with 2 on each side. Parking tickets were given out with tows, and I must have seen them hassle at least 4-6 'normal' people driving around. Had to change my 'search pattern' a little since I didn't want to be spotted by LE all the time.

Ok, I saw that girl too in the pink bikini. Was eating lunch at the park, and she must have had 2 dates in the hour I was eating. She works it fast. I gotta go ask my friend who is she (& the the/l on her), yep, he was the second one to p/you her in his work truck. Becareful, LE is running Plains too, alot, see them all the time now when I eat lunch.

As she was walking away, he saw a square bulge on her left side (the radio), with a slender stick like object going up her side (the antenna). As he was driving away, another pedestrian looked at him and "chirped" his radio. He said another white car kept on driving by him while he was talking to her.
I told him he was lucky he was not harrased by them; he should have left sooner. He said she was dressed in baggy blue jeans with a t-shirt. I told him she was too plain to be a sw. I told him the sw' have that "look" about them.

Ricky's post seems to be pretty accurate though it does sound strange that the UC bait would be carrying a full-sized handset on her. Then again, HPD is not the most sophisticated and there is a new rookie class out and about. As a side note: I'm not sure if they were vice, but I also observed in the "greater" DT area two smaller-sized UC SUV's during the day taking down some guy at a bus stop. One was white and tan and the other a dark blue(much smaller than that suburban that likes to cruise DT) and they were some american make I think. They did not look like the typical UC vehicles. There were about 6 UC LEOs and they were in civies. They threw the perp in the back of a blue and white that showed up and then the SUV's bailed. So while I take the post with a grain of salt, he makes a great point at the end and seems to have a good deal of experience in tougher areas of the country.

Last night the Aala area was dead. Two local chicks in the non-TS area and two TS on Nuuanu. The obese white chick was out behind the mortuary and that was it. Didn't see too much LE presence or the infamous dark-blue suburban. There was what looked like a dark colored 4runner with its light off going down the main track. My buddy told me she was wearing baggy clothes. Our brothers are firefighters in Chicago, so we know that distinctive Motorola "chirp". I sincerely doubt firefighters are out trying to catch mongers, but nothing is too far fetched. One thing I have learned, and I'm sure Lip will agree with me (along with anyone else): they have to keep constant communication. In addition, if they can catch you on audio, it's even better. Again, I'm a newbie to this board, so I have to learn the area first before I fall into vice traps. My buddy almost became a victim. Lip, you have been here for a bit, so you know how LE operates.
I believe our art is not solely looking for women on the street. You have to learn how LE operates, the city and state politics, any community action programs.......as they all affect the SW/AMP scene. In NYC, I saw how a change of Mayor can affect the city: from dozens of visible, amazingly dressed SW all over the 42nd Street area, to “Disneyland”. Politics plays a huge role, as it also affects police tactics.


So while I take the post with a grain of salt, he makes a great point at the end and seems to have a good deal of experience in tougher areas of the country.

Maybe since I’m new to the area, I’m getting the cold shoulder. My info comes from: 99% personal experience, 1% friends. Unfortunately, my first post here was the 1% (which I thought was valuable information).

I hope my reply did not dissuade you from posting more reports as information is always valuable. The only part of your past posts that made me wonder was your comment about having a DE in .40 since they don't make one in that caliber.

Anyway, HPD did have a contract with Motorola for all their communications last I heard so I don't doubt what you heard. I just have never seen a confirmed sting with female LE posing as SW's so I thought they would be a little more discreet with their equipment.

I do like the way you worded how our hobby consists not only of looking for women. If you look at my past posts(especially in this part of the forum), I am often trying to enlighten others to LE presence and behavior. Speaking of which, there was very light observable LE presence last night around 2am, there were 3 SW's and a few TS's but nothing worth stopping for.

Landmarks? Okay, here we go.
- At the corner of Beretania and Alaa, there was a bar, I believe, but it's torn down (happened within the last month) and it's an empty lot. There are construction machines still there. Continuing on Alaa, the park is on the left. This is TV area, if you like chicks with dicks. They tend to hang out in the park.
- Make a right onto Kukui. There is a church on the right. Then there is the overpass/bridge. there is a bell on the right side. You will find the elderly orientals exercising Saturday and Sunday mornings. After you cross the bridge, there is a funeral home on your left, and an oriental school on your right.
- You are now at the Maunakea light. On your left, there is Zippy's (mmmm) and a big parking lot. Cross the light. On your right, there is a private parking garage. On your left, there is another funeral home. You are now at the Nuuanu light. There is a bus stop on the right, along with the famous dragon.
- Cross that light. Immediately on your left, there is a funeral home. What's with all these funeral homes? Damn! On your right, there is a public parking lot. On the left, there is the driveway Long's.

On Beretania, there is the park. If you travel southeast on Beretania, you will cross the bridge. There is a oriental restaurant on the left, an oriental video store, and a oriental church. Why so many oriental things and people? Just kidding....it's Chinatown. At this light, you can only go left or right onto Maunakea.

Took a spin down the main track late last night and noticed a few different things. Haven't been down there on a Friday/Saturday in a long time due to the amount of heat. Maybe I am missing something but on the Pali side of longs where the girls normally park their cars, the entire side was empty. All the street stalls were open and there were no construction horses, tape or anything to block it off. A blue an white was just turning the corner in front of me so I decided to take an alternate route. I didn't see anyone standing out where Carmen and some of the new taller girls have been hanging out(on the sidewalk by the street parking), yet the blue and white slowed down and pulled over anyway with his car and headlights on. I did a wide circle around the track and as I drove south on Kukui and turned right at the end, I saw the cop was talking to a blonde(maybe Carmen) and a taller brunette SW. There weren't any other visible girls on the Pali or Kukui side of Longs. I'm not sure where they came from but they were talking to the cop for at least 15 minutes and their body language didn't indicate that he was giving them a hard time. I didn't see any other obvious LE activity in the area.

There was a TS on Nuuanu at their usual corner, a few nasty cracked-out ones behind the morturary, one somewhat nice looking(only got a glance so I could be wrong) one in a black dress on the makai side across the mortuary, and a few of the usual crack-heads and a TS further down by aala. A car that pulled behind me seemed to be driving like a cop yet there were no lights externally visible. Once I turned back down heading makai on Nuuanu he continued going straight but my vice-dar was already trippin. Decided to err on the side of caution as there didn't seem to be anything worth stopping for anyway.

RickyFirst off, mongering on the east coast is really nothing to boast about. You very rarely hear anybody mention of mongering trips to Baltimore, Maryland, or anywhere else in the northeastern part of the country. Have you seen some of the pics posted in the photo gallery from the beasts in the east. Enuf said about mongering in the east coast there’s just no comparison with the girls on the west coast.

Posted below is a report from KHON. When I cruised by the Longs area late last night, I didn't see any streetwalkers on the Kukui Street block behind Longs, but I did see two streetwalkers lurking in the shadows around the corner on the Pali side. Also, I saw a streetwalker on the sidewalk near the Vineyard Boulevard entrance to Safeway (but that one may have been a mahu).

Undercover sting targets johns

Six men were busted during an undercover sting in Downtown Honolulu.

Police say the men were caught trying to hire prostitutes.

The arrests are part of an overall effort to crack down on prostitution, an effort which police and residents say has really paid off.

This is home video shot earlier this year of prostitutes working North Kukui Street in Downtown Honolulu, near Kukui Plaza.

"It has been pretty bad in the past," said Rich Lentes, Kukui Plaza Security Supervisor.

Not anymore.

"I have definitely seen an improvement in the past four to five months as far as the amount of prostitution activity that's going on out here. It's decreased absolutely, absolutely," said Lentes.

Police have been working hard to clean up this area, through numerous undercover stings aimed at busting prostitutes, and more recently the johns.

"We're happy about anything that reduces the activity. Because along with the prostitution comes the drug activity so it's just an element we don't want on our streets surrounding our complex," said Mike Lakey, Kukui Plaza General Manager.

Late Thursday night, police arrested six men on North Kukui Street for trying to hire an undercover officer who was posing as a prostitute.

The men include: xxxx of Kalihi, xxxx of Nuuanu, xxxx of Palolo, xxxx of Manoa, xxxx of Kaneohe, and xxxx of Kalama Valley. [Names and ages deleted.]

Kukui Plaza management has also taken measures of their own.

"What I have done is asked my security department to step up their patrols along Kukui Street and report any activity to police," said Lakey.

Lakey says they recently installed large lights around the complex to deter prostitution, and they have plans to install a security camera.

"Probably the last month and a half or so it's pretty much gone to where we hardly see anything. It's been great. And it's been a relief and our residents are extremely happy about it," said Lakey.

Currently prostitution is a misdemeanor.

The management of Kukui Plaza has been leading the fight for a new three strikes law, that would make a third prostitution conviction a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.

There were absolutely no Longs girls around, except for one around the corner facing the elementary school and not the high rise area where the tenants were complaining. Three providers in the downtown area who might be of interest to some hobbyists are Jessica, Joanna, and Ann. In my opinion, all three of them will respond especially well to men who are friendly, polite and respectful.

Jessica is a relatively attractive provider for that sleazy area. She's a haole girl, originally from the mainland, who seems to be in her early or middle twenties. Long blond hair, slender figure, likeable personality, and somewhat more intelligent than the average streetwalker. She has very good oral skills, and full service is also available. Jessica may be found from time to time anywhere in the Kukui Street vicinity, more often during the day, but occasionally at night.

Joanna is most frequently found on the Kukui Street blocks between Nuuanu Avenue and Aala Street, particularly in the area near the Chinese Cultural Plaza. She works both in the daytime and at night.

Ann is a pleasantly plump African-American woman with a chocolate complexion and large breasts. She's originally from the mainland, and seems to be in her thirties. Her oral skills are outstanding, and enthusiastic full service is also on the menu. Ann is more likely to be seen at night, usually in the area near the intersection of Kukui Street and Aala Street.

When a real streetwalker passed by them, there was no communication or recognition. Although I didn't have time to search the area for parked police vehicles, in my opinion there is a high probability that it was another sting operation by the sex police.

I went crusing early this morning at around 100 til 330am. There were little LE around, but there seems to be some ordinary looking men standing at street corners, so my instincts told me they COULD be undercover LE looking at the traffic patterns of cruisers (I could be wrong). Anyway, barely anything out there, but I did meet with Angie. She was about 5'7", dirty blond, haole and very pleasant to talk to. She asked for $1 for everything, so I declined. She told me she comes out often. About 30 minutes later, I met a new DT girl named Julie. She is also a haole lady in her late 30's. Nice personality, shoulder length dirty blond hair, no rush and street smart. We drove to a nice area and I offered .6 for everything. She agreed and did not complain about anything. She was indeed tight as hell, so it was a definite plus.

Oh yeah, I did notice a new player pimp in the Aala side of Kukui St. He is about mid 20's with 3-4 samoan girls with him, ranging to fat to medium fat to medium. He was a little aggressive when I started to drive around often and did yell out something I couldn't hear. When I was a stop sign, he asked, "which one do I want". I continued to drive by, since he was standing too close to his girls.

Downtown prostitution sting captures 9

Downtown Honolulu undercover police officers dressed as female streetwalkers and snared nine johns in the last week, police said.

Police arrested the men, ranging in age from 22 to 61, in the area of Kukui and Aala streets for solicitation of prostitution.

District 1, which covers downtown Honolulu, uses four undercover units consisting of four women and 12 men several nights a week.

"In this one particular area, you didn't have to be too feminine looking," said Lt. Fabian Loo. "They like 'em big and gnarly."

Honolulu police announced the arrests at a news conference yesterday to inform the public they are working to clean up the streets.

Capt. Frank Fujii said residents have been concerned about prostitution downtown.

"It's part of the ongoing strategy to solve the problem," he said. "We are working on it."

Police want to publicize the message: People who perpetrate crimes should stay out of that area.

The men charged this week are ****, 36; ****, 51; ****, 46; ****, 22; ****, 58; ****, 39; ****, 61; ****, 30; and ****, 27. [Names deleted]

Police also arrested and charged ****, 46, with prostitution. [Name deleted]

Frank Lavoie, vice chairman of the Downtown Neighborhood Board, said his neighbors have noticed an improvement in the past several months.

"It's actually good (that) police conduct a sting," he said. "They should do it more often so that it doesn't stay like this, so people shouldn't have to put up with this for years."

He hopes the publicity keeps prostitutes and their patrons away from the area.

"People don't like the fact that they are in the center of prostitution," he said.

He said prostitutes stand behind Longs Drug Store and Safeway parking lot on Kukui Street every night. "People are afraid to go outside with their children," Lavoie said.

The community requested that police focus on the problem and conduct stings, he said.

Maj. Randy Macadangdang instituted the special operations to focus on the problem using a variety of strategies, Loo said.

The plainclothes officers are not part of patrol, so no patrol officer is taken away from patrol duties.

Saw Mariah around Longs (passed); saw a local woman wearing short/tight red shorts around Kukui/Aala (passed); saw a tall blonde wearing similar clothing that Mariah was wearing (jeans and white top), tall and a little thicker than Mariah (doable but picked up before turn-around complete). Does anybody know who she is?

With all of the “sting” arrests that the sex police have been making in the downtown area -- and especially now that the identities of the arrested men are sometimes being publicized in the news media -– it might be useful to review some points that will help us avoid such arrests.

If a particular “streetwalker” is unknown to you, it’s preferable to not mention anything about money or any type of sexual act unless she’s willing to sit inside your car and drive with you for at least several blocks. The female officers pretending to be “streetwalkers” in these sting operations do not drive away inside a customer’s car (as far as I’m aware).

If you’re familiar with the downtown scene, you can ask an unknown “streetwalker” for the names and descriptions of other providers she knows who work in that area. Beware if she doesn’t know any, or if you’ve never heard of any she supposedly does know.

If you already know some real streetwalkers who are out that day or night, you can ask them if they know the “streetwalker” who is unknown to you. If they don't know her, then it’s probably a good idea to avoid her unless and until you can learn more about her.

Carefully evaluate whether a purported “streetwalker” looks like she blends into the area or looks out of place. Maybe she looks too attractive, clean and fresh, nicely dressed, and/or physically fit?

Be alert for any object that an unknown “streetwalker” may be holding, or may have attached to her clothing or handbag, that could possibly be a disguised recording device or transmitting device.

When you see an unknown “streetwalker,” thoroughly survey the surrounding neighborhood for law enforcement vehicles and officers. They may be present not only in nearby parking lots, but also in places where they can better hide from view (such as behind a wall or around the side of a building).

If you have the time, you can observe an unknown “streetwalker” to see if she enters into any cars and is driven away (or conversely, whether any of the men who stop and talk with her are then arrested).

Be particularly wary of any unknown “streetwalker” on Aala Street or the portion of Kukui Street that is near Aala Street. That is a favorite area of the sex police for stings (although certainly not the only area).

RTFF, especially postings throughout the major US cities. There is a wealth of information there and for the millionth time, that is a large part of what this forum is here for.

LE will NOT get in your car. It is just too dangerous as the safety factor drops severly once the LE gets into a stranger's car. Thus, always be wary and never discuss anything with the SW unless she gets in and you drive away.

Most of the SW's know who the LE decoys are. They will not mingle. LE chases off the "real" SW's and sets up their decoys. Asking a known SW about a new girl is a good idea if you have the opportunity.

There have been recent busts near Longs where the decoys were set up walking on Kukui. All the real SW's were told to leave the area by LE.

Please do not drop or allow the SW to throw out used condoms/wrappers/trash where you date. This practice ruins spots for everyone and brings more heat from the neighborhood boards.

Lastly, trust your gut instinct. If something looks strange or "feels" strange, leave to monger another day. Better to be safe and free than to be kicking yourself for not listening to your instincts as you get fingerprinted.

There's a stop sign at that intersection where drivers entering the intersection from North Pauahi are supposed to come to a complete stop, but if there are no oncoming vehicles or pedestrians, some drivers just carefully slow down and don't make a complete stop. If a driver doesn't make a complete stop -- even if his vehicle is moving very slowly and he checks for oncoming vehicles and pedestrians -- the foot patrol officers wave him over for his $97 ticket. Although the tickets are legally valid, it would seem that police time and resources in that area could be devoted to more important offenses.

I asked one of them why; she said that it makes it easier for the customers to loop thru the Longs parking lot to "discuss business" without holding up traffic. Hey everyone! I went cruising the other night and had to see this idiot monger (i hope it wasn't a regular) in the DT area; BUT on the other hand, it could have been LE.

The idiot monger arguement is: parking in the middle of the street to talk (!!) to SWs then making illegal u-turns.

The LE arguement is: it was a large black suburban SUV with license plate ending with the numbers 807; stopping for some time before making a right turn at a traffic light when I was behind him; and making multiple rounds in the DT area.

It was actually more amusing watching this idiot than seeing the action in the area. If this is a monger and you are reading this, avoid doing any idiotic actions in the DT area (see idiot monger arguement above).

A good way of identifying most LE cars is that they have multiple antennas and are american built. Cop antennas are usualy a small one on the back windsheild, on SUVs and Cars. Taxis have them too but you can identify taxis by the stickers on their bumpers when their taxi signs are not on. You can also use headlights to see if their vehicle has deviders or a detachable light on the inside or use your brakelights when there realy close to see if they got anty lights or devices on their dash. Just some tricks me and my friends picked up over the years of being harrased by LE. 3 diffrent LE ran my plates last night from the time I left Atkinson to getting home in Waipahu. You can tell when there running your plates when they get in close because when the get close you can see ilumination from their on board computer just enough to see them typing.

Did anyone see the young asian SW on Bishop on Friday night? I'd swear she was bait. I swung by at about 11:00 pm and she was standing on the stairs between merchant and queen. I always thought those stairs were off limits because of night security guards. She was with another rather large woman. Might have been LE so I passed. She looked hot though. She also didn't make any eye contact or gestures to passing cars. I heard that to make a case, LE cannot wave down or call out or even make eye contact with passing cars as that would be entrapment.

The very ground basis for anyone to be busted at an AMP or picking up a SW is if LE can prove in court that there is en exchange of money or attempt to exchange money for "sexual services" as defined by state statutes. What that means is, unless the the john or the suposid provider is realy LE, working for LE, or carelessly speaking about transactions loud enough for LE or LE listening devices near by to hear you propose a transaction, the LE cannot legally seize/arrest you (unless you have a prited receit on you or flashing the money transaction is open sight).

What people forget is that alot of LE don't know the Law like they make thereselves out to. Most are not comming from college and only know that prostitution in itself is ilegal". " Unfortunately, most average people don't know the law either or are too embarased to fight the charges in court. Basicly a LE cannot arrest you unless they have evedence of the talks of a transaction or the transaction itself. The talks of exchanging money is the key. As long as the arrest is proven ilegal, the charge will drop as provided by the constitution (which cannot be overrided by state law). That is why Johns don't usualy get arrested. On the other hand Undercover LE are the reason why providers usualy do get arrested in a bust because the LE are directly involved.

Just though id mention it since some people don't know they can fight the charges. An LE can't mearly believe that your soliciting sex, they need to catch you actualy solicity. I've been arrest, I've been through the system, but I have to admit, I'm new to mongering so I have never been caught in a raid. And despite vice knowing what there doing, the prosecutors present cases to the judge in which most people arrested as johns fold and plead guilty. Vice clearance rates means nothing if everyone pleads guilty. And in the case of vice, they don't just bust in and arrest people, they have an undercover LE or a rat already at the spot who trigger the raid against select individuals they have dirt on (not everybody).

I think Yaotsu basically is right about the raids. Johns are primarily arrested in
LE street stings after they have agreed to pay for sexual services to an undercover officer.

In an AMP, with a known provider, LE certainly knows why you are there,
but have no evidence that you have agreed to pay for sexual services.
They know that even if they see you in the act with the girl, they need to prove
the money part in court. The prosecutors and judges get annoyed if they waste too much of their time on questionable cases. So Johns at amps only get checked for id to see if they are wanted on a bench warrant. The girl may get arrested for prostitution from an earlier sting by an undercover officer, or more likely because of immigration charges, usually working without a permit.

Normally, the moderators are supposed to filter out posts that don't meet the posting requirements as it makes the forum difficult to read/understand and causes unnecessary confusion(read the rules). What bothered me most about your post was the misinformation it seemed to construe about the way vice/LE operates. Though you may not have meant it to sound that way, it suggested that vice arrests were run by cops fresh out of "college" which I assume you meant to be the police training academy. Specialty units do not use rookies unless something has changed in the past few months. Also, this section is for SW's not AMP discussion so if you get pulled over by the vice units and backup, you are most likely already screwed(no pun intended). Wednesday, about 7:30 a.m., there were a total of six black streetwalkers working on the mauka side of South Kukui Street between Nuuanu Avenue and Fort Street/Pali. They appeared to all know each other, and seemed to be mainland imports. All of them looked sexy, in a sleazy/slutty way (that's a compliment). During part of Wednesday afternoon, again there were two foot patrol officers positioned mauka of the North Pauahi Street/River Street intersection. They were nabbing motorists for minor violations, such as neglecting to come to a complete stop before entering River Street from North Pauahi Street. So it would be advisable to continue being especially careful and alert when driving near that location.

Three of the lesser-known downtown providers who may interest some of the forum members are Maria (not sure of the spelling), Crystal, and Harmony. All of them offer both oral service and full service.

Maria is in her early twenties. She's apparently Micronesian, and has a relatively dark complexion, a cute face, and pretty hair. I also like her charming accent. Unfortunately, she has an injured leg with a prosthesis. She is one of the most sweet and polite providers I've known in the downtown area, and has had some difficult times in her life, so please treat her with respect and consideration. Harmony is a haole provider in her late twenties or early thirties, originally from the mainland, who may occasionally be found (either daytime or nighttime) anywhere in the North Kukui Street vicinity. She has a light complexion, medium-length hair, dresses in regular clothing, and maintains a low profile when on the street. Her oral skills are particularly good.

Harmony is a very nice provider, but she can be suspicious of men she doesn't know (because she doesn't want to be arrested by an undercover policeman pretending to be a customer). An effective way to overcome that suspicion is to have another downtown provider, who already knows you, assure Harmony that you're a real customer. After Harmony knows that you're a real customer, she becomes relaxed and quite friendly in my experience. The only problem with Harmony is finding her -- the times she appears downtown are unpredictable (morning, afternoon or night), and she doesn't remain in any one specific location (she can be anywhere in the North Kukui Street area). The last time I saw her she didn't have a functioning cellphone number, but it might be worthwhile to ask if she has one now. That would make it much easier to find her.

I was driving through DT around 545p and there were two non-TS local girls meandering on the corner of Kukui and Aala. Had to do a double-take so decided to drive around once more just to be sure Turned up Aala towards Vineyard and entered the parking lot of the nearby apartments and low-and-behold. There was a white van, three or four squadcars and officers wearing blue tee-shirts. Yep, gang, that's where they were stationed for the sting.

Imho, the kids probably got a slap on the wrist (from the school) for what they did. Knew a Rachel who worked downtown and generally fit your description, but the Rachel I knew had blond hair, not "brown hair." Lexi seems to be in her late teens or early twenties. She's an attractive Latina who's originally from the mainland. She works at night in the Longs area, both the South Kukui Street side and the Fort Street/Pali side. She has a pretty face, a nice brownish complexion, and a friendly personality. Just a helpful reminder -- the police "Click It or Ticket" seatbelt enforcement program starts on Monday (May 12), so downtown hobbyists should be especially careful. In addition to avoiding an expensive ticket, making sure to always wear your seatbelt while "cruising" downtown gives the police one less reason to stop your car, ask intrusive questions, and harass you. It's also a good idea to ensure that any provider who has entered your car puts on her seatbelt quickly.

Actually, here are six lesser-known providers, all female, who might be of interest to some downtown hobbyists. Five of them haven't yet been mentioned on the forums (as far as I'm aware), and one of them (Cocoa) has received only a few mentions on the forums.
