Aaron Rodgers and the Packers always struggles against good defences. TB has a good defence, not 2015 Broncos good but good for this year standards. I say, got to go with the Chiefs. Too much offensive firepower and Andy Reid has 2 weeks to prepare. Isn't he undefeated or really good record when having a bye week before the next game? Chiefs are the exception of good defence beats a good offence, Chiefs did it last year against one of the best if not best defence last year in the 49 ers.
Didn't think Brady would get past GB. First time a team gets to host the Super Bowl, though with COVID it's a little different than many years. Everyone's probably expecting a shoot out as I seen the line move 1-1. 5 pts already, so I'll go with the house and bet under probably. KC is a fg favorite right now. That is a tough one. Not sure which way to go. Just hoping for a good game and no key players get COVID and can't play.

Bucs match up well here. Both have speed all over the field. Difference is Vita he make defence better. Take the points.

No Bucs fans in here? How many Tampa Bay fans do you really know? I don't know any Tampa Bay fans except for the peeps who follow brady. For that matter In Hawaii you hardly even saw Kansas City fans until last year I personally know 2 people that was KC fans before last year.

I been one GB and KC fan since the Vince Lombardi and Hank Stram days; GB was the glory days since the 60's but KC been one struggle all these years after Stram (and only been good since little while ago with Andy Reid, 2013). COVID 19 stay affecting the KC roster already so anything can happen from now until Sunday for both teams.

Bucs have extra motivation for being the first team to play a SB in their home stadium. Still I think Chiefs got this.
I'm a Brady fan, picking the Bucs for the win. As long as Brady will be the QB for the Bucs I'll be a Buc fan.I've been anti-Brady for the last 2 decades since I'm an Indy / Manning fan. But for some reason, I want the Buc to win.

So be honest here, how many of you lost bets on this SB? Bucs hounded Mahomes and the Chiefs all game long.
Even tho Brady has proven he is the GOAT I can't stand this guy just like how the other GOAT Michael Jordan didn't like Isaiah Thomas and Detroit because when they lost they showed poor sportsmanship and didn't shake hands same like this guy Brady every time he loses he heads straight to the locker room no congratulations handshakes but every time he wins he is right there shaking everyone hand.

I think I've gone soft in my old age.Its all good, in my personal and professional life I only met a very few Brady fans in my circles and that's a lot of people. I got smashed and hazed for years for being a TB fan, but I got the last laugh. Brady may not have been the best QB that ever played, because he is the GOAT. Aloha.
Total out coached. Bucs came prepared, KC not so much.
Tampa got into their head early, forced penalties, mental breakdowns. Beautiful game plan.
Mahomes will be back and win some. Brady maybe this is his last show.
Put in my bet early and won.

What do you think about lawsuit against Deshaun Watson?

What do you think about lawsuit against Deshaun Watson?I don't know but even if only half are real, his football career is over. Twelve though, he should've just hit up the AMP's, escorts, indies, MT's, and SW's like the rest of us, he has the money.
What do you think about lawsuit against Deshaun Watson? In my view, the proliferation of lawsuits by multiple women will be a problem. So far, it appears that seven lawsuits have been filed, the plaintiffs' lawyer says that an additional five lawsuits will be filed "in due course," and he also says that he's "spoken to' more than 10 additional women' who have come forward with reports about similar conduct from Watson". Just as with Governor Cuomo, the more women who come out of the woodwork with allegations, the more credible the allegations will seem to many people. That may also ultimately decrease the money Watson earns from endorsements.
Plus, I think Watson was unwise to categorically say: "I have never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect". Now if it's demonstrated that at any time in his life he treated even one woman "with anything other than the utmost respect," he's shown to be a liar.
I don't know but even if only half are real, his football career is over. Twelve though, he should've just hit up the AMP's, escorts, indies, MT's, and SW's like the rest of us, he has the money.Supposedly the Lawyer got Deshaun Watson text to the MT that shows he apologized for his behavior so if that's true than he going law suit.
What do you think about lawsuit against Deshaun Watson?Same what I think about any suspicious allegation of misconduct: ulterior motive (s) unless the allegations are proven with undoubtedly credible evidence. They "striking while the iron is still hot," IMO.
I don't know but even if only half are real, his football career is over.Concerning the issue of whether Watson would be permanently banned from playing in the NFL, I think that could depend upon what specific misconduct he was ultimately found to have committed. The allegations in the lawsuits vary in severity, from the relatively minimal (such as causing his penis to repeatedly touch a masseuse's hand), all the way up to "forcing" a masseuse "to perform oral sex," which purportedly caused the masseuse to go unconscious "from fear".
Remember that another NFL quarterback, Michael Vick, was convicted of despicable federal and state felonies, and was imprisoned in a federal penitentiary, yet was eventually allowed to play in the NFL again.
I got a feeling this would be right up his alley. Butt massage: https://honolulu.bedpage.com/TherapeuticMassage/bp/9834239.html.

What I'm not understanding is where is this Lawyer getting all these people from? And is the police questioning Watson? You would think if all this women coming forward police would be involved? Also Watson this guy is a multimillionaire why wouldn't he go to a Relaxation place like Robert Kraft instead of maybe real massage place? Or get his own private massage? A lot of questions about this case. And Why is this lawyer making it public before the case even starts? If this is fake news Watson can sue for deformation of character.

Why did they wait so long to bring down that corrupt governor? But to what you were asking on why Deshaun chose a real massage place instead of a happy ending place. Well maybe at the time of acquiring the service he wasn't initially thinking of extras but when the females started doing their thing his JR got excited and wanted more. Also maybe he was naively unaware of happy ending massage places or scared of getting caught in one like Robert Kraft.

Another sad day for Lakers fans. The great Elgin Baylor passed away Monday.
Also Watson this guy is a multimillionaire why wouldn't he go to a Relaxation place like Robert Kraft instead of maybe real massage place? If he did what he's accused of doing, maybe he could be one of those men who becomes more psychologically excited from forcing, coercing, threatening, intimidating and / or harassing an unwilling woman than by being with a consenting woman.
And is the police questioning Watson? You would think if all this women coming forward police would be involved? It wouldn't be surprising if his defense attorney advises him not to submit to police questioning. That avoids being prematurely locked into statements made to the police, rather than being able to craft defenses after more is known about the particular accusations and the specific accusers (whose identities have not yet been disclosed to the defense attorney by the plaintiffs' attorney).
And Why is this lawyer making it public before the case even starts? The cases have already started with the filing of the lawsuits. By publicizing the cases, more women who have allegations against Watson (and seek money) may contact the plaintiffs' attorney.

POINT IS, we need NFL come back here. Good for Hawai'I. Yeah? As Little Dickie previously said, from 1998 to 2005 the Hula Bowl was played in Wailuku, Maui, at War Memorial Stadium. Plus, in 2001, UH played a football game against Montana at that location.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Memorial_Stadium_(Wailuku,_Hawaii)
Those games might have years later caused some confusion about the Pro Bowl location.
Just as with Governor Cuomo, the more women who come out of the woodwork with allegations, the more credible the allegations will seem to many people. That may also ultimately decrease the money Watson earns from endorsements. More bad news for Deshaun Watson. Even though at this point none of the allegations have been proven in court, Nike announced that it has "suspended" its endorsement relationship with him; Reliant Energy will not be renewing its "brand ambassador" contract with him; H-E-B said "that its relationship with Watson ended with the 2020 season, and that there are no plans for future engagement"; and Beats by Dre has terminated its business relationship with him, which had existed since 2017. As a news report observed, "Watson's marketability has taken a hit".
Was watching Colin Cowherd and he made an interesting comment 20 plus women coming forward with a QB like Deshaun Watson you would think if you needed a massage you would have your own personal MT but with the number of women coming forward doesn't look good for Deshaun. Which is true think about it most of us go to get a massage wanting at least HE or more and there is no doubt Deshaun did the same.

The Reaper been busy. Colt Brennan dead at 37!His father reportedly said that Colt "ingested a substance laced with fentanyl". That dangerous drug can be thirty to fifty times more potent than heroin.
In my opinion, the WNBA imposed a ridiculous punishment in this case.
"The WNBA fined Connecticut Sun coach Curt Miller $10,000 and issued him a one-game suspension for his comments to a referee regarding an opposing player's weight". The coach's remark wasn't even directed to the opposing player herself. Coach Miller "complained to an official about a foul call" because the opposing player allegedly weighed "300 pounds". According to the hefty woman, she actually weighs 235 pounds, and is "very proud" of her size. Nevertheless, she considered the coach's remark "disrespectful". The coach publicly apologized, but still received the punishment of the fine and suspension. By contrast, the female player was not disciplined for calling Coach Miller "little sir man" on social media and telling him to call a psychologist, which seems disrespectful to me. Wonder what football coach Vince Lombardi would have to say about this matter (if he were alive).
This incident made me recall an AMP session years ago when the funny provider pointed to my ample belly and said: "Some guys have a six-pack, but you have a no-pack". Then we both laughed. In retrospect, I now realize that I should have sued her for $10,000 for causing me emotional trauma! LOL.

Watched the Conor McGregor fight last night. He really took a ground and pounding from Poirier. Glad Herb Dean finally let him get up. Best chance he had was when he had him in the guillotine but he slipped out. Then the ankle goes out in a freakish way. Maybe he fractured it with one of his previous leg licks. Looks like he may be done despite all his post fight talk. Stay Safe.

Looks like he may be done despite all his post fight talk. Stay Safe.Yeah that whole fight was a mess for McGregor. It's well known he's not a grappler / wrestler but he tried to end the fight with a guillotine? Even the announcers were saying that was a mistake. I get that he wanted to maybe surprise Poirier and shake things up but it just ended with Poirier escaping and then beating the shit out of McGregor. It wasn't looking too good with his boxing either, as Poirier seemed to win most of their clashes and even rocked McGregor once and forced him back a few times.
The leg injury looks like it could be career ending, but even if his ankle hadn't snapped I'm convinced McGregor would've lost that fight on the cards or gotten knocked out again.

Milwaukee looked pretty good yesterday, I think they have a chance to win this thing. Anyone else think that? Or is Phoenix too good? Giannis looks a lot better, I like that he's shooting free throws quicker than before, that "paralysis by analysis" is real, I think. Just shoot the damn ball, can't be much worse. No matter what, got to love his intensity and desire to win. Much better than Ben Simmons. Once opposing teams put the "hack-a-Simmons" on Ben he looked like he wanted to crawl under a rock.

I really have a thing for that 6'5 sno-bunnie Alix for the US Women's Beach Volleyball team. Actually, her partner April is pretty too for a lady close to her 40's. Back to Alix, I love watching her bikini bottom out her ass hahaha! I say to myself, more, please, every time she does it. I can watch her dig her ass all day. In fact, I wish I was eating it. Truth.
Sort of reminds me of Megan of Chi-Chi's fame. While Megan was 5'10 (unlike the monstrous Alix at 6'5) it was fun having those long legs and limbs wrap around me while we fucked. Tall chicks are tons of fun.

Well, has Coach "Rolo" gone lolo? Economics was his major as a UH student, but in this case it doesn't seem that he's made a smart economic decision. Lost a job that was paying more than $3,000,000 per year (and wasn't subject to state income tax because there isn't any in Washington). Plus, now it will probably be difficult for him to find an equivalent coaching job that pays as much, because he had a losing record at Washington State (five wins, six losses) and will be considered an unreliable troublemaker by college athletic directors and other administrators.

WSU athletics director Pat Chun said Rolovich was "resolute" in his stance and wouldn't change his mind. "That's a question only Nick can answer, but I know we offered and actually had multiple education sessions for all our staff, our coaches, relative to the vaccine, its efficacy and the vaccination process," Chun said Monday.
Rolovich comes from a Catholic family background and attended a Catholic high school but recently declined to say if he identifies as Catholic. His former coach at the University of Hawaii, June Jones, told USA TODAY Sports earlier this month that Rolovich "believes that he doesn't need to take it and doesn't want to take it, and he doesn't want somebody to telling him what to do. His former coach at the University of Hawaii, June Jones, told USA TODAY Sports earlier this month that Rolovich "believes that he doesn't need to take it and doesn't want to take it, and he doesn't want somebody to telling him what to do. " He's a "different" kind of economics grad, IMO.

They know that there is $3 M / yr left on the table and are trying to get a piece of that on their way out.

They probably thinking the public relations, publicity, bad press going be enough to make some kind of settlement with WSU or else his lawyers wouldn't take the case. Not sure if many of you are taking in the World Series but Atlanta is looking to close it out today. The stole last nights game from the cheaters, I mean Astros. Houston can't leave so many men on base like that and expect to win. Wasted a good start from Greinke. Maybe they need a bigger garbage can to bang on! LOL. I expect The Braves to close it out tonight but we'll see. Stay Safe and get your booster shot.

WR for the Raiders (Alabama) charged with DUI after his Corvette slammed into a Toyota 4 runner and the death of victim.
Too much money to spend.
All to waste now and only 22 years old.If convicted of DUI resulting in death, he could be serving significant prison time. He had signed a contract with the Raiders worth more than sixteen million dollars, plus a contract with Adidas. If he was drinking, he should have taken a taxi, Lyft or Uber. A news report said the NFLPA provides a free transport service in that type of situation.
He's described as "lightning quick" on the field, but apparently he lacked common sense on that night.

Take off," and his girlfriend was telling him to slow down.

Watched the Max Holloway fight. That guy throws more strikes than anyone else in MMA. Sort of like the younger Pac-Man. Despite him building an obvious advantage in striking and points he sure takes a lot of hits, to the point of being one lucky strike / punch away from losing it all. That being said he always puts on a good showing and represents Hawaii well. Hope he gets another title shot or maybe a fight with Conor.

What is going on with these QBs entering transfer portal? Not too unusual nowadays for redshirt players (who probably already get their degrees) to enter the transfer portal for more possible pro exposure. No big deal anymore but still more business-like.

Mahalo for sharing, bro. Not new but maybe now time this generation can be forward looking. Save the self centered personal gain focused--discussion for another forum.
Sports that make sense would be golf, soccer and volleyball. Very complex issue and not that easy to fix, but precedent has been set elsewhere. Local mentally is my namesake, LOL, so. I know.
How bad it is here. Glory daze are long gone. But locals keep. Hanging on.
Football focus, if any, should be on high school level as export--huge potential now to capitalize on this with college athletes being paid.

Got to think that the 2 month layoff affected the Crusaders performance. I also noticed that rain / wet turf made for some slippery footing. I also wonder if Coach Cal Lee's sideline presence and possible participation in prepping for the game (had anything to do with the outcome. Nevertheless is was an exciting game to watch. Going to get worse before it gets better for our warriors. 7 players now transferring. Our football program doesn't make money for the University like our women's volleyball to survive.
We can save the state million of dollars just to cut the football program.
If we stop the rail now we can pave all of our roadways with concrete.
No more pothole to worry about but job security disappears.
We can use that rail funds to build a brand new stadium plus a lot more infrastructure repairs.
By the time the rail starts moving, their wheels will be obsolete to repair and parts will be hard to find.

Please don't hire Rolo. Why not hire rolo afterall might be able to get him at a discount because he obviously doesn't value money or has very strong anti vax beliefs and maybe structure contract to where he gets paid for away games only for vax reasons or whatever but he was a decent coach when he was here except for the fact he didn't recruit Marcus Mariota before Oregon got a glimpse of him when rolo was QB coach or offense coordinator so who else is in line for the job, but maybe Rich Miano name comes up again.
Well now, Hawaii should have a minority female coach get plenty politically correct choices winning no matter just have mental health as a priority not winning. Simone and Osaka are prime candidates, LOL.
By chance Hawaii will get to root cause of persistent failures with football program. Its not just President or AD--if it was, we would have systemic failures throughout the University. Sad to see myopic grandstanding law makers quick to lay blame to easy targets but no thought into what we really need to fix--look in the mirror first. This goes far beyond the University leadership.

They should make Nick Saban coach Hawaii on an $800,000 salary and the same budget conditions to prove that he is the GOAT in college football.
In alpha by last name (via Christian Shimabuku, KHON Sports, 01/15/2022):
*Robert Anae, Syracuse offensive coordinator: Anae, a Kahuku alum and former Hawaii graduate assistant, came close to landing the job in 2020, even flying to the islands to interview for the job in person back when he was Virginia's offensive coordinator.
*Keith Bhonapha, Boise State associate head coach: Bhonapha is a former Hawaii running back and also began his college coaching career at UH. He has steadily climbed the ranks, coaching running backs at Boise State and Washington before returning to Boise following the 2021 season.
*Timmy Chang, Colorado State receivers coach: Chang was a record-breaking quarterback for UH in the early 2000's, signing with the Warriors over multiple offers from what was then known as the Pac-10 Conference. Since then, he's accumulated a decade of college coaching experience, following Jay Norvell from Nevada to Colorado State last December.
*Chad Kauha'aha'a, *Ikaika Malloe and *Brian Norwood, UCLA assistants: Kauha'aha'a, a Baldwin alum, is currently the defensive line coach at UCLA. Malloe, a Kamehameha alum and former UH assistant in 2008, is currently the outside linebackers coach for the Bruins. Both Kauha'aha'a and Malloe are known within college football circles as ace recruiters, especially when it comes to relating to players of Polynesian descent. Norwood was a member of the storied 1981 Radford team that won the Hawaii state title following the sudden death of head coach John Velasco. Norwood's robust coaching resume includes stops at Arizona, Navy, Texas Tech, Penn State, Baylor, Tulsa, Kansas State, and UCLA, where he's currently the associate head coach, passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach.
*Brian Smith, former Hawaii and Washington State offensive coordinator: Smith, who was also considered during the 2020 search, was an integral part of the Rolovich era as an assistant coach and played for UH from 1998 to 2001. After WSU decided to go in a different direction offensively following the 2021 season, Smith was a finalist for the Idaho State head coaching job but didn't land the position. Idaho State's decision could very well be UH's gain, and soon.
*Tony Tuioti, Oregon defensive line coach: Tuioti, who graduated from Hawaii in 2000, has vast experience as an assistant at UH, Nebraska, Cal, Michigan, and with the NFL's Cleveland Browns.
*Former Hawaii coach June Jones and former UH assistant Rich Miano: In Hawaii's last three coaching searches in 2015,2020 and already in 2022, Jones and Miano have always emerged as the crowd favorites. In 2022, the interest level for both in terms of applying for the job are currently unknown.
*A wild card candidate is San Jose State head coach Brent Brennan, the cousin of the late Colt Brennan. Brent Brennan is known to have an affinity for Hawaii. As evidenced by the school's baseball coaching search last summer, UH is not afraid to pluck a current head coach, as was the case with Rich Hill.

Paid by incentive and (no buy outs) take or leave it, better legal representation.
3rd leave politics out oh the school.
4th many have received favors from the school.
Etc etc.
5th Wake up.
Because of a combination of the following factors, personally I wouldn't choose June Jones as the new head coach.
As of next month, he will be 69 years old. As an old guy myself, I well know how age can reduce vim and vigor. I think an energetic coach who's younger than Jones would be preferable for a stressful, high-pressure position that can demand long hours of work to achieve success. Moreover, Jones hasn't coached a college football team since 2014. In his last college coaching job at SMU, he abruptly quit because of unexplained "personal issues" (that to my knowledge he still hasn't sufficiently clarified). Jones had a losing record at SMU (36 W and 43 L); with only one exception, he lost to every ranked team SMU played during his more than six seasons there; and SMU was outscored 88 to 6 in the two games he coached his last year before quitting. I think that when emotion, sentimentality and good memories from many years ago are removed from the decision, the bloom is off the rose and his time to be a head coach at UH has passed.
Agree, June was an A+ coach. So was Tomey--took best player Gaison made him safety and rest is history. He would never have made the pros as a QB.
Now time Hawaii cannot compete. Not only Hawaii going suffer with players making millions in college now, nothing good about it. Lots of college like Hawaii going be Jr. College status.
Top it off with the fact that Hawaii had only two 5 star recruits in past decade--Manti and Tua. We just don't have enough talent to compete with Texas, Florida, Cali and so on. We not even on the list as last, LOL.
Re-think the whole thing here--some of the 4 star players make it with good development--DeForest 4 was star and needed lots of work.

I think June Jones would be a great choice for UH right now. He's been here before, knows what to expect, and his coaching skills are well proven. His coaching diversity is impressive as well, besides UH, SMU and Kapolei he's had several stints in the NFL, USFL, Canadian and was 5-0 in the XFL just 3 years ago. There seems to be quite a few who don't like him, but can we realistically expect to get someone better with the salary that UH pays? Also the sour grapes has to do with the fact that he was good. If he was a losing coach here, like several that coached here after June, I don't think he would be seen the same way. Who was the best coach at UH after June? Probably Rolo, a June Jones player, also disliked by some for his personal decisions.
June Jones has the experience while I think Hawaii will be the only Team that can or will give Timmy Chang a chance to be a HC. The problem is giving Timmy Chang a chance to be HC is a Big time RISK. Can he recruit? June Jones is know for his passing offense where Timmy Chang might not be known to these kids coming out of high school. I would hire June Jones and have him mentor Timmy Chang to take over since June is old.
Choice for the UH Football HC going be decided next week (earlier the better due to national signing and commitment date) to much excitement and anticipation; too bad no more one betting line and prop bets with odds. With JJ once dubbed the "Worst Football Coach in America" and being unsuccessful (NFL, CFL, XFL, USFL, NCAA; he has a recurring habit for dig out and huli) except for Hawaii, I would lay Don't Come odds on his selection. He no more one modified run-and-shoot on steroids like he claims (everybody stay figure the R&S out already). But he still the winningest coach in UH football program history (long time ago).
Looks like going be KC in the SB again.

So he comes out and says he wants the job. Interviews for it, is offered the job and then turns it down. 🤷127995;8205;9794;65039;.

Now Timmy Chang has a chance.

Situation must've been really bad because he wanted the job then turned it down. I didn't know too much about the off the field stuff because I was younger and didn't pay much attention to the news, but I know he was winning over here and brought alot of talent here and a few of them even went to the NFL. Whos up now?
JJ has turned down UH.Smart move. Let his agent (Leigh Steinberg; yups, that one) do the work.
Whos up now?The interest and offer still alive; details need to be worked on. Poker game is on; hold or fold time.
If June Jone is telling the truth why would you offer a 2 year contract? Like he said how you suppose to recruit and why does UH like give ok to who he hires? This is why UH is where they are. So Matlin should be fired wasn't he the one who hired Graham?

Timmy Chang I feel sorry for him.
How many years before Timmy Chang gets fired? Bottom line is Matlin didn't want to get heat for not hiring June Jones so he did what most locals wanted to have local boy Timmy Chang be HC which I'm guaranteeing you will see something like Norm Chow. Mark this time down horrible hire NO EXPERIENCE and BTW what is Timmy Chang credentials to make him HC? Again they hired him because his local and didn't want people questioning why not JJ.
Timmy Chang I feel sorry for him. Will Matlin let him add JJ to the staff 😆.
Timmy Chang I feel sorry for him.Sam, no worries, Timmy will get JJ offense, Rollo defense, rickQB.
2nd Pake to be HC.
Timmy Chang deserved the HC position. He showed his loyalty to Hawaii when he chose to play for it, despite being a heavily recruited QB; he had one of the best release in a QB that I've ever seen, and I sometimes wonder if he would have made it in the NFL had he been better coached in a different program.
Anyway, he had a diverse coaching experience and is very qualified. There is no doubt that he cares about the program, as well as the young men who will grow through this program. The University of Hawaii is in good hands. Congratulation Timmy Chang!

Congrats to Timmy Chang, I hope he does well, I think he will. If he wins he can probably land a nice position on the mainland where the pay is right.

I don't think he will be able to win, but at least we gave a local boy a chance to make some money instead of spending it on some of these loser Head Coaches that we previously hired. Good Luck Timmy.

Matlin should be fired for hiring TG.He get too many business and entertainment connections for get fired.
Same situation Timmy is in now for the time being.Timmy stay under scrutiny because UH when hire him unilaterally; doing so created one cloud of suspicion and doubt. UH when mess up by not having put together one emergency selection committee for make the hiring process more open and professional. Imua, Timmy, and show your stuff.
What a weekend for the nfl! Three hotly contested incredible games. Then a fourth, I'm saying it right now, the best, most exciting nfl game I ve seen in my life, I can't help to think that the team got sent home, is good enough to have won it all. Because, and I never liked this rule but because of mandate if a team scores a td, game ends, regardless if opposing team never gets a possession. Which seems to be the only way to stop Josh Allen, the Chiefs didn't.
Unless Timmy Chang has already signed the final contract, there's still time to renegotiate with the people's choice, Coach Willie Gonsalves.
No be silly, hire Willie!

He could suckseed like a young coach chechefski at Duke if given chance or he could be thrown into big surf and he not prepared and drown like Norm Chow who was offensive genius with local tyes and coached hiesman winners at byu & usc with blue blood college coaching pedigree with winning programs and legend head coaches but Chow couldn't do it & was fired and moved back to CA to help coach at one high school.
Can Chang assemble one staff to coach? One reason Urban Meyer failed in NFL is he couldn’t put together a staff cuz he has no nfl experience and no nfl relationships cuz he’s a college guy
Can Chang and staff recruit local talent at top schools and all schools StLouis Kahuku Mililani and the rest because times are different than when June Jones was coaching because back then the big boys weren't really recruiting Hawaii and Polynesia but these days locals and poly are on all top program rosters, and even Jim Harbaugh when he first started at Michigan went to Saaamoa to coach clinics and recruit and even Alabama has poly guys on their roster contributing so much harder to recruit keep and retain talent but if he can get chance for one winnah.
Can Tammy Chang and staff make players better? Oregon trained and coached up Deforest Bucker. Current USC players don't get better. Vavai Malapiai decommitted for glamourus USC and he didn't get better even though he's states HS leading rusher and can catch too. Poor thing so much talent & promse squandered at usc under Helton, what a waste. After Tua took Jalen Hurts QB position because Jalen couldn't throw, he went to Oklahoma and was groomed into an nfl quarterback in 1 season.
Can Chang and staff improve players while at UH and is subtly prepare for NFL or CFL. Chad owens has great life in Canada.
Can Chang and crew put players into nfl or cfl? If can, easier to keep local talent just like June Jones & Rich Miano did because they had NFL careers and cred. If can, no need our local boys go SEC even like Jordan Teamu Tua Vili and all.
Yups we all want Tammy to bring back UH glory daze, full packed stadium daze even tho current stadium holds 3,000 it's all good. Coach Tomey & Wagner daze UH played top ranked teams and almost won like USC and Nebraska. Go go geevum T Chang & UH, because we like one win and again.
And remember UH had its own version of NIL for years and years and it's called the Stevadors, where commits set for life if play local.

The drama not over yet with Timmy's hire and JJ's snub but most like see TC succeed and JJ suck seed (along with wannabee US Senator McDermott). Take care the contaminated aquifer (drinking) water first, representative, before putting your leatherneck on the UH football sidelines.
Don't get me wrong, I am happy for one of our own to become the Head Coach of the Warriors BUT.
As the program has no real stadium to play in, how will it be able to gain the revenues, without a large venue to play in. With promises of a new and greater venue in the next few years, well you know how that goes, going to be poorly planned, plagued with delays and cost overruns. Just like other projects in the past, to name a few, H3, Aloha Tower, Convention Center and the Rail. That is Hawaii's history of incompetency in leadership. Such grand plans are on the table, but do we really need more hotels and retail in the area? We need affordable housing first. A little off the subject, but relative to the problem.
It will probably not be completed in Timmy's tenure. So might as well take the cheapest way out for now. A quiet and humble local boy who will do his best and not make a spectacle to the media of all the things that were promised to him and did not get when things go south. Like the predecessor's before him, he will just leave for greener pastures.
So no Jones and no Miano.

So no Jones and no Miano.Mo, every thing you said is right 100% treat it as a business, our government can't get it right, sad.
Timmy comes out the winner. He gets cred for being Head Coach. No matter if he wins--no more stadium, poorly managed, students treated second class, lots of work off the field.
If he wins, he will bail just like Rolo. Gone for selfish reasons and rightfully so, he would have earned it, go for the big bucks, Timmy.
Best thing now is we know what stupid really is with the vocal legislators poking their nose into UH business grandstanding--vote them all out Hawaii people, be smart this time and learn. Three dumbasses in the lege and counting--vote them out. Matlin is solid. They going get burned.
Most people know hiring Timmy not going make UH winners but because he is local and a lot of people like him they ok with hire just like Rail most people knew it was going to cost $$ but they building it because they say going cause less traffic? Timmy will not turn UH around unless you consider 7-6 record turn around while I consider turn around being 10-3 just like Rail it's not going to stop traffic. And how long going take Timmy to turn program around as long as it take Rail? Again time will tell what will happen 1st Timmy turns UH around or Rail be finish 1st?

Look at every college football and NFL teams there is no Orientals HC. They talk about not having enough Black HC but how many Orientals HC is there? I know there is more Black HC than Orientals HC. Keep in mind that Norm Chow was a great OC for many years and who gave him a HC job? Hawaii and I bet like Timmy if he didn't have ties to Hawaii he wouldn't have been hired either.
Watch for the defamation lawsuit, UH vs JJ (Steinberg). I think they (Steinberg & Co.) stay setting it up in the media (HNN, 01/24/2022) and no look like going away until they settle: "The business community are up in arms. We're not stupid. We know this was a choreographed setup," said business executive Stanford Carr. Over the weekend, the university announced former quarterback Timmy Chang will be the next coach. Supporters of Jones say he would have brought millions of dollars in financial backing to the program. But because of the way the hiring process was handled, they say much of that support is evaporating. Other supporters say that they had hoped the negotiations would have gone smoother..."
More to come.

More to come.I'm not a June Jones fan but who would you give the job to if everything was on the up and up JJ or Timmy. Also why even offer job to JJ if there was any conditions? JJ did say on TV give him 5 years and they could fire him at anytime if they felt he wasn't doing the job. Does anyone know how many years they gave Timmy? I haven't seen or heard his contract?
OK they released his Contract today 4 years.
Kansas City vs San Francisco rematch?
Kansas City vs San Francisco rematch?I personally would prefer KC and LAR. There are more notable stars on both teams. Due to covid, not sure if we are going to the bars to watch the game. Hope the covid numbers subside soon. As for the UH Coaching fiasco, I am a little irritated with the way things were handled. It looks like there are not too many honest people up at UH (as we all know) and they were following a scripted agenda. Their spokesperson Mizenthal (or whatever his name is) really screwed it up for UH. If anything, that bastard should be fired. As for Matlin, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt after his press conference explained his actions. However, these guys are really good at lying with a straight face, so I am still a little skeptical. Anyways, good for Timmy. At least he will come away with a lot of money for the services he provided to UH when he was playing. Go get um Timmy -- hope you can win a few games.

JJ did say on TV give him 5 years and they could fire him at anytime if they felt he wasn't doing the job. Does anyone know how many years they gave Timmy? I haven't seen or heard his contract? Background: According to Matlin they offered JJ the original contractual conditions to (1) discourage him from taking the HC job (although JJ was Matlin's personal choice) and to (2) prevent JJ from bringing Miano onboard. Since JJ has already objected to the conditions and the HC job, his hiring is pau already unless he comes onboard as a consultant / mentor by Timmy (and no one else). This whole thing was one travesty of basic negotiations and decorum because UH when make one unilateral decision without one escape plan (emergency HC hiring committee). Always make sure get one escape route and cushion for criticism. If was up-and-up between JJ and TC I would have chosen TC because of his overall ethics and positive image; JJ too dangerous.
KC and either LAs will be good for the SB; going be shock if KC lose to the Bengals (in OT).
Let's be honest here. Timmy Chang is the better head coach for UH compared to June Jones. Jones was never successful anywhere, but for a few years in Hawaii. He was only slightly successful in those few years because he was able to recruit locally; ironically, Timmy Chang was probably his best local recruit. However, during Jone's tenure here, his character was always an issue. Further, he unexpectedly bailed on Hawaii at first chance for money at another school, leaving UH's football program in shamble ever since.
Given UH's football success is reliant on the successful recruit of locals, Chang is the better option since he has ties to community, as well as first hand experience going through the process. In addition, he has experience coaching at several programs. UH made the right decision.
Jones suing the school is just sour grapes. He should just walk away because no one wants him. If his service is needed, he shouldn't have a hard time finding a HC position. Instead, he decides to take the sore loser route and sue. I'm so glad he is not the HC, and his true color revealed itself with the lawsuit.

Was and prolly still could be our best coaching candidate, the university is in need of money and Jones is the guy to do that. Why wouldn't the university want him to take over with a longer term contract, he's proven himself. Matlin is making decision based on fear, why would you hire a coach then tell him he couldn't hire this guy or that guy? Matlin admitted that Miano would be a problem because of his strong desire to be the head coach at Hawaii, like that is against the law, why would he be so defensive about someone having a desire to be the head coach here, shouldn't be be applauded. How can Miano be a problem for Timmy and Matlins plans for the future? Matlin is the boss, that is his job to keep Miano under control and tell him where to go should he start a campaign on his own for hc. And that's a big if, that hasn't happened and may never happen. Yet he goes and he ties the our best candidate hand with rules like that, what's up with that? Does he really want success here, I think he does, I don't question Matlin s heart, but his actions seem divisive.
The Future of Aloha Stadium, Insights on PBS Hawaii, a year old discussion and insights of the plans on the table. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2EhGwhga3E.
Wakai says it is not going to be Rail 2.0 HAHAHAHAHA! It may not be exactly, just due to different funding. But it will be another burden like the Convention Center, Aloha Tower and Aloha Stadium of old, poorly planned and when completed, underutilized and in need of funding to maintain.
With ground breaking plans for Aloha Stadium now, sometime in 2023 and with no one willing to commit to a completion date. Along with the Rail, that is supposed to provide transportation to the venue, where half the State does not live by a Rail Station and not even going into Waikiki for the tourist, to be completed by 2030. There are just too many plans up in the air all at one time and most of it is just wishful thinking. So for UH to rely on the State to provide a world class usable venue on a timely basis is impossible.
As the UH fanbase currently averages not more than 20,000 per game, and at 6 games a season, maybe UH would be better off just doubling their current capacity at Ching field. Maybe even use the Baseball field as an Amphitheater to handle the overflow. In the off season it could then be utilized to generate other income streams as well. I would think this would be a win win for all, UH the State and its people.
No need hotels an more retail in central Oahu. Need more affordable housing and that is it.
Yes, I will miss tailgating, but I'm sure I can evolve and find a good bar or neighbors garage to enjoy the games and support the team in spirit.

Attendance, utilization and more live access to games at Ching Field for UH sports needs expansion; live streaming of games, PPV, etc. Get the right bunch of good people, large projection screen, potluck, etc. , and no need see live games all the time. Garage partying / viewing / getting together good enough (no need spend that much kala). Yard, garage, patio, living room, lanai, whatevers.
Nice observations bros. New Stadium is already done--Ching Field, LOL. Make it shine. 50 years ago field of dreams was going to Aloha stadium. Now time thanks to. Manti, Tua, Milton the field of dreams is streaming live on the national stage.
Hawaii no more leaders or forward thinkers in office. Was good for COVID to have a slow thinking slow moving governor, saved lives. Not good for build a new concept. Notice none of the so called expert law makers talk about infusing tech into total experience. What happened to the Formula 1 track? That's one fascinating blend of tech, streaming, competition, international appeal, etc. Guarantee make more. Money than Pro Bowl of Whatever Bowl, LOL. The other football also has global appeal. Housing make. Sense, stadium not really. Hope the new Blasidell big enough for concerts. If not, time we built an iconic destination within Diamond Head on on Ala Wai Golf Course that can be used everyday by locals. Wonder why no more protect Mauna. Kea on Diamond Head, LOL.
Never understood why Stadium was empty and off limits to taxpayers to use most of the time.
Like I said time will tell I would have even chose Rich Miano over Timmy but maybe Miano will get his chance after Timmy and Matlin gets fired.Just another screwup, June Jones is a well proven success story, but no another stupid choice chosen over a much more qualified coach. So now, UH Football program is again headed down the same path of Fred VanOpen's legacy of having the longest losing streak, maybe we'll even break that record?
Odds for today: Bengals-Chiefs (KC -7, o/u 54.5); 49ers-Rams (SF -3. 5, o/u 45). My guesses for fun: Cincinatti early season pick for futures; they have good chance cover so going Bengals / over. If the Bengals cover, then going 49 ers / under; if Bengals no cover, then going Rams / over Good luck and party safely.

Odds for today: Bengals-Chiefs (KC -7, o/u 54.5); 49ers-Rams (SF -3. 5, o/u 45). My guesses for fun: Cincinatti early season pick for futures; they have good chance cover so going Bengals / over. If the Bengals cover, then going 49 ers / under; if Bengals no cover, then going Rams / over Good luck and party safely.Lots of bars will be open early for the games today. At least in Kalihi I know.

49 ers +3.5 / Under 45.
LFG!
Final Crying Time (3/4): CIN 27 KC 24 (Win: CIN; Lose: Over); SF 17 LAR 20 (Win: SF; Win: Under). Scoop: DTcruza, Da Champ. Going LAR and Over (subject to change) for fun, SB LVI. GL to all and party safely.
Lots of bars will be open early for the games today. At least in Kalihi I know.KBs good for SB pool if can find but gottta get 'em fast kine, $20-100 block. Sometimes get guys who like bet the side with odds (no juice; tie push) or totals (tie push); can find guys who like the money line instead of the point spread so got to know the money line, too. GL and keep it friendly, LOL.

SB props are always good fun. Been placing first TDs every SB and actually hit once on Alshon Jeffrey in the Eagles / Pats SB (IIRC think it was +1200 ish). Two I'm eyeing this year:
Rams: Odell Beckham Jr +1000.
Bengals: Tee Higgins +1200.
No real reasoning / analysis to back it up, just fun bets to make for a degen like me LOL. For reference the favorites to score first for both teams respectively are unsurprisingly Cooper Kupp (+550) and Joe Mixon (+750) who did not score against the Chiefs in albeit a catch up game. I might be wrong, but I think in the last 3 SBs the betting favs didn't score first. Goodluck!
Looks like USC will be a contender again. Lincoln Riley has brought his QB with him.
Watch the transfer portal at its best USC back from the dead. And Coach Chang get one legit 5 star the only one in maybe forever. Hawaii no land 5 stars but this redshirt. Freshman is legit.
Way to go coach, you way ahead every other coach before you.

For those who might be pondering a last minute trip to the Super Bowl, this may be the year. My buddy who lives in LA told me today that there's a strong buzz going around town that ticket prices may decline sharply by next week. Most fans were expecting at least a #1 or #2 seed in it, instead there's two #4's. Who would have thought that Cincinnati would get there? A few did, but not many I suppose, I thought KC, Buffalo or Tennessee. The Rams are good, really good, but where's the "Bay" teams? 49 ers, Green, Tampa. The networks aren't too thrilled, neither are the scalpers, maybe there's a bargain out there for all those long time NFL fans who want to cross out a big one off of their bucket list. Congrats to 2 very exceptional young head coaches, Sean McVay and Zac Taylor. Who would have thought just a week ago when Timmy Chang got hired that at age 40 that he's older than both Super Bowl coaches. Hard to believe that Sean McVay who coached in the Super Bowl 3 years ago is still just 36. Good luck to all, hope your team wins or better yet, win your block pool!
I think he has a good chance of winning this. And this guy Flores is a good coach.
Correction--Hoohuli was. 4 star out of high school, but with 1 year at Nebraska he get better.

The lack of fans at home games is well known for the Chargers, but even the Rams appear to have a weak fan base in LA. Last week I saw pictures where it seemed like half of SoFi were red for the visiting 9 ers. And for a trip to the SB no less! Guess there's just too many other things to do in LA, or people just don't give a shit LOL.

How is the basic fan suppose to pay for tickets at that price.

Had a couple of friends that went to SoFi for the Chargers / Browns game earlier this season. IIRC they paid $600+ and these were in the nosebleeds LOL. Being a SB and in a brand new fancy stadium like SoFi I guess the market is justified to some, but that's just not worth it.

Way to go coach, you way ahead every other coach before you.Hawaii lands a five star recruit, what's his name, where is he from, what position does he play, what are the circumstances? I don't think we've ever had a 5 star recruit.
I think he has a good chance of winning this. And this guy Flores is a good coach.Personally, I think his claim that "God has gifted me with a special talent to coach the game of football" was laughable and pretentious.
My bad, 4 star. Hawaii never had a 5 star on its roster.

My bad, 4 star. Hawaii never had a 5 star on its roster.Even a four star recruit like Wynden Ho'ohuli, as long as he is serious about playing football, should be a star on the field for us. What's that kid's name, last name was Tuimasealii or something like that from Waianae, defensive line, he got into trouble with some wahine, the guy was unblockable, he was only a three star recruit, had he not gotten into the legal system, he was going to be drafted in the nfl, so four star. Can't imagine what he will be doing!
Ditto, bro. Hope he is a legit 4 star. A 4 star can blossom into a game changer with good coaching, and can change the program. Coach Chang has an extremely good start, even if by chance. If done right, Hawaii can get to 8 to 9 wins for a nice run of 5-6 years. 4 stars attract 4 stars. Hawaii had couple 5 stars and handful of 4 stars over past decade, all left Hawaii. Hope Coach can land at least another 2-3 of them. Going forward.
TV contracts, and road games with big names make money. Make the campus the place to be--TC Ching the GEM. No need share with swap meet. State High School Championship tourney destination. Screw the State and the corrupt Aloha Stadium self serving politicians.
UH should take advantage of this opportunity. That is the only way football has a chance. No need 50,000 seat. Just need good exposure and wins. Small sold out stadium with A+ total experience will make tons more money guarantee.

Totally agree on this one to make TC Ching the GEM. Infrastructure already there, just need expansion ideas that can incorporate the whole lower campus into a sports arena and entertainment venue. For example, premium ticket seats in the stadium, then to handle the overflow, standard ticket seats in the baseball field that has been converted into a video amphitheater with live action feed of the game with multiple camera angles. And last but not least, grass seating on the softball field, for the budget conscious, bring your own bentos and drinks, let your kids run around on the grass. Just like Sunset on the beach. The lower campus would definitely be rocking.
So where are the Senators in the Moiliili district and why are they not fighting for funds to expand the stadium in their own back yard. By improving the facilities, it will revitalize UH Manoa and the community around it into a great college town. Especially a community that is riddled with crime and homelessness. Just save Aiea for much needed housing, the population increase itself would help local businesses thrive without a sporting event. By doing so, this would benefit multiple communities at the same time and at a much lower cost to the taxpayer.

UH Manoa could forge tight partnerships will all parking, eateries and provide shuttles and security for total game day experience. Host year round clinics with strength and conditioning all athletes at THE CHING. Can be done quite easily. Lasner can do. Want inspiration? Just look across the field to the LES. First class baseball venue built by Tatsuno, bonafide All American. The LES still has upside, too. Year round connection to Little Leagues would be good.
Aloha to Aloha stadium. Its a rail stop--make it housing gem, shopping, recreation for the little ones. Formula 1 track would be a global destination. UH no need be mixed up in all the politics and handouts that are already in motion. Vote them out kids, vote them career politicians out.

Rams to win, and under. Rams won't miss tackles. And sacks like KC did.

We all know the New Stadium is going to be another bust and a waste of money when the overruns takes place. Our politicians got shit for brains and we don't want any more fiascos in Honolulu. Let the smart local people (there must be some politicians with brains) help develop Ching Field and make UH prosperous once again.

Call me stupid but this is what I am doing.
1) Burrows OVER 10.5 rushing yards.
2) Mixon OVER 24.5 receiving yards.
3) Opening kickoff results in a touchback? NO.
4) Will there be a roughing the passer penalty? YES.
5) Longest FG over 47.5 yards.
6) Scoring in Second half plus OT, greater than First half.
Teaser: Cincinnati +10 / Over 42.5.
Good luck 🍀127808;127808;.

He can throw on the run / outside the pocket and got to respect the run w / Mixon. Stafford got weapons so Bnglz DBs better pay attention and not give up big / chunk plays. Was advised to bet the over and cheer for an exciting game but Defense wins championships. If victorious the trade for Stafford will make someone look like a genius. Hoping for an enjoyable game. Stay Safe gentleman.

What use is instant replay and replaying all scoring plays if you let that shit fly.

Hope not too many was crying in their $19 craft beers and choking on their $12 hot dogs. Yeah, I one poor sport, crybaby, poor loser, whatevers (just when go the wrong way on the fix, lol).

The holder that flubbed the hold was also the punter (Hekker) and he punted really well the whole game. If he wanted to influence the game towards the Bengals he could have easily shanked a punt or two. Just my 2 cents anyway.
This was one of the best Halftime shows they had its up there with Michael Jackson.

How many wins this season? I was looking at there schedule I see only 2 wins maybe 3.
