This particular section of Fig has really long blocks on the west side. So I understand why you decided to pull into the driveway and make that turn. But what I have always done is just drive down one block and make those three Rights to get back to the SW I just spotted. You may lose out on a SW following this method but I've found it does a couple of things for me. It gives me time to gather my thoughts, depending on the night and mood it gives me a chance to scope out the immediately surrounding area (you never know), and it eliminates the need to stop your car when you don't need to. The only reason why I would stop my car on Fig would be to tell a SW to "get in the car", no long convos car side (where either the cops or thugs can pull up on you), either she gets in or she doesn't but I'm keeping it moving either way.

Even then you can still get robbed like I did a couple of weeks ago. It was the perfect set of circumstances to catch me slipping. Regardless of that I drove by Wednesday around 3:30 am And saw some BSW that were worth picking up imo. Even saw a WSW. Didn't pick any of them up but called up a regular instead.

Tldr: Never stop your car unnecessarily on the track. Always keep it moving.

Never really thought of it that way, but yes good observation and comment. In many instances I take my safety for granted. I don't have much experience in "bad" neighborhoods or people for that matter. They do exist and are the scourge of society.

I almost got jacked last night on Fig around 1:00 am. I pulled into a drive way to make a u-turn and a car half-blocked me in. Like an idiot I waited for him to move and then in the mirror I saw somebody walk by. I immediately put into reverse and backed up through the small gap left to me.

The guy came up to my window while I was moving and motioned with a gun held at his eye level. In a panic I shifted into drive as he tried to pull the locked door handle. At this point he could have capped me if he wanted but just then he saw the headlights of another car turn onto the street and I guess he decided it was too risky. Or maybe he only had a replica.

I pulled away and drove straight home as fast as I could, paranoid all the way that somebody might be following. I thought not only did I luck out with the other car coming around the corner but also remembering to keep my doors locked and windows up.

The big lesson for me is to avoid driving down dark narrow streets where It's easy for somebody to block you.

Glad you are ok. That is crazy, we always have to be on the look out. I remember when I was 20 something some BSW burned me with 40 but that has been it. A long time ago. And it freaks me out when they take pictures of your plate and car, what is that about?

Try Western between the 101 and down to the 10 freeway. Just south of Olympic can see action sometimes. You can take Western all the way down to 50th and will spot some.

Appreciate the help guys, I got a PM from one of you and ended up picking up a skinny light skinned girl on Figueroa a bit past Manchester?
