Yeah, I'm not surprised at their decision; this new legislation opens them up to prosecution, lawsuits. If I were in their place, I'd have to make the same decision. And I'm sure that BP will be next. I'm expecting them to shut down their section within a week. And I'm sure the owners of this site are struggling with how to handle it as well. Very difficult legal situation for site providers.

This site's not struggling with it at all. Their servers are based outside the US. Craigslist has only blocked the US portion of the personals. Every other nation on CL still has theirs up. While we're turning into the next North Korea. I hope everybody's enjoying this idiot in Washington.

I've been at it for quite some time now, and I do remember the days that Clark Kent talks about, chat lines, magazine personal ads, and the early days of the internet with chat rooms and Yahoo Groups. I actually took a trip down memory lane earlier this week and scrolled through some old emails and relived some really good memories!

While I am glad that I developed the skills to hook up before the dawn of the internet, I am not looking forward to having to use them again. I am sure that new avenues will develop, because I am certainly not looking forward to an early "retirement. " Craigslist personals provided me with some really fantastic experiences. RIP.

I believe CL jumped the gun. It's not even a signed law, yet. It's no different than how BP pulled their ads for a time in the recent past. Back prior to the net, I was mainly going the SW route for fun, and still do, some. But with the advent of CL, I'd been going more and more the route of finding free hookups via CL. Sure it was a fishing expedition, but for every 8 or 9 spam replies, you'd get an actual legit reply. At least you had that option. Plus with CL, you had the opportunity to hook someone just by what your ad heading said, and get some you'd probably not get if they were browsing and seeing your pic along with the post. Namely girls a number of years younger. That being said, I've actually had better luck in the big picture with dating site ads. You'd be surprised at the number of women I've talked to and met up with, some on the same day contact was initiated, and ended up being intimate with via dating sites. Most women on there are desperate and lonely, a lot have just gotten out of another relationship and just looking for a warm body. It's just dating sites take a bit more effort, of which I've not been wanting to spend of late. There's still other sites online, but they're way, way more cumbersome, and have less of an audience. People elsewhere keep saying BP, but for free hookups, it's just not a place to do so, and certainly not the way to go for me, as they make you post a contact number on your ad. I guess we'll see. I sort of feel like I'm in the show Revolution, with a big part of connectivity cut off. Though I guess it'll make mongering more attractive, and put more girls back out on the street, as it cuts off the free ad posting not only for us, but for the working girls as well. And they have less avenues than we do in respect to online.

We've progressed so much in the last 20 or so years of having the net, it's hard to imagine not having an easy avenue to post an ad seeking casual hookups. Everyone's posting elsewhere to use BP, but that's not like CL. From what I can see, BP doesn't even allow you to post an actual ad, plus you almost have to post a number online in your ad. Honestly it made me think of the days prior to the net, and just how difficult it really was trying to find someone for casual hookups without having to go to a bar and find them in person. I remember these old ad booklets they used to sell in adult book stores, where people would send in an ad and post there. It was mostly garbage, and I never contacted anyone from it. There was also party lines you could call, and back in the day I had some luck with them. But even they pale in comparison to having an avenue to post ads such as CL did. Even though the majority of replies were garbage, I'd always have a few bites. But a few bites are better than no bites. There's still other avenues, but far less easy.

One good thing you could say about the personals being taken down, is it'll more than likely send a lot of the working girls back out on the street.

Hi all. First time poster here. I've been reading the boards for a long time, just never took the time to post. I get the itch from time to time and start looking around backpage and Craigslist. I have seen Bunny a few times and a girl that sometimes goes by the name of Snow both which post on Backpage.

Anyways, I was messing around on Craigslist about 2 weeks ago and saw a w4 m ad. I figured it was tbe same old b / s gmail crap. We exchange a few emails and she sends a pic and I do the same. I knew the place in Homewood was closed, but never knew why. I went there 4-5 times and never really pushed the issue to get extras. I did take the towel one time when I was on my back off, and she immediately picked it up and put it back on. Her massage to me was brutal. She would beat the living shit out of me. She did this thing one time where she kept rubbing on my back very, very hard and when I got home I looked and my back looked like it had been lashed with a whip. And I was going because I needed some areas to be pain free, but at times I was in more pain from her massage. Especially when she would practically dislocate my shoulder jerking on my arm.

Seen her twice, safe location in Homewood. I agree with the other post. I will say she is very friendly, but not even close to loving on junior. She looks damn good to me, definitely no pimps or crazy ass boyfriends lurking around. She looks good to me, very healthy and not all cracked. Looking for more so I won't repeat.

I'm sure that I am not the first one, but it's the first time that it has happened to me. Has anyone ever spotted an ad or posting by someone that they knew personally? How did you handle it? I first saw this girl's ad browsing through Craigslist a few months back. I replied to the ad and she sent me back a few pictures and a phone number. The pictures obscured her face, but I recognized the phone number. I was shocked. She is a customer of mine, and seeing her pictures and what she was offering posed me with a decision. I really want to hire her to work for me now, but I worry about exposing myself at the same time. I was back and forth on and off the fence for several weeks until it kinda died down. Well, I recently saw where someone on here had reviewed her, and it's back on the top of my mind!

How did you handle a similar situation? Did anyone take the plunge with the lady that you recognized? How did it turn out for you?
