I haven't used backpage that often, never really in the past several months, since finding out about USA Sex Guide. This website is all I need so hopefully it stays active. It will be tough dealing with my depression without escorts!

A VPN that uses allows access to overseas servers will allow you to reach TER should you want to.

Posts: 359The SESTA / FOSTA Bill
This was in the works for some time and it was USA Senators Rob Portman (R-OH), Tom Carper (D-RI), and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) the main sponsors and driving force behind the SESTA / FOSTA bill. Wouldn't matter who was the President because this was going to happen.
The two-year Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) inquiry, led by Portman and McCaskill, culminated in a report which found that*Backpage knowingly facilitated criminal sex trafficking of vulnerable women and children and then covered up evidence of these crimes in order to increase its own profits. *Backpage would not clean up the the real sex traffickers from the site.
SESTA which is awaiting the president's signature makes two important changes: (1) it allows sex trafficking victims to get the justice they deserve by removing the law's unintended liability*protections specifically for websites*that knowingly facilitate online sex trafficking; and (2) it allows state and local law enforcement to prosecute websites that violate federal sex trafficking laws.
This is going to get blow back on a lot of important people in Washington D. C. One of the most vocal groups in opposition to SESTA / FOSTA were sex workers, who spoke out about how the bills would put their lives at risk and how it would put the lives of trafficking victims at risk, often making it more difficult for victims to find information on how to get help or to protect themselves. Indeed, there are already reports of information sites shutting down entirely. But it's also interesting to see that sex workers are continuing to fight this -- including reports of a Google Doc making the rounds where sex workers can expose members of Congress who have used their services.

Way to go Congress. SESTA also known as the Bill to Move E-commerce out of America has passed. What a bunch of maroons.
A2 and company better send a donation to Portman's re-election to thank him for eliminating his US based competitors.

(Please note that users outside of the USA Will still have full access to the site.).
The USA Congress has passed the Stop Enabling Sex-Trafficking Act (SESTA, also known as The Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act or FOSTA). SESTA amends Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act, a federal law which has served as the bedrock of protection for online publishers from Facebook, Yelp, Reddit and Twitter to The Erotic Review from being held liable for user's posts on their sites. Under SESTA / FOSTA, the USA Government can prosecute websites and those that operate them criminally for posts made by users.
As a result of this new law, TER has made the difficult decision to block access to the website from the United States until such time as the courts have enjoined enforcement of the law, the law has been repealed or amended, or TER has found a way to sufficiently address any legal concerns created by the new law. TER is not alone in responding to this threat to your First Amendment Rights: Craigslist has pulled all of its Personal Ads, Reddit has closed a number of Subreddits and sites such as * and Men4 RentNow have gone completely dark. Other websites have taken or are expected to take similar actions.
TER will suspend recurring billing for all USA Monthly subscribers as well as provide a credit to all other USA Subscribers equal to the period TER remains blocked to USA Users.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, but do not believe that TER has any other choice as long as the law remains in effect. We hope to see you soon! If you have any questions please contact support@theeroticreview.com and we will do our best to answer them.

Posts: 1370RE: Craigslist is shutting down I the personals
This law basically means any dating website could be shut down, right? All it takes is a single flirty personal ad on Plenty of Fish or Match.com and the feds could shut it down and charge the website operators with serious federal crimes, correct?
