Even though I have a lot of comments, those are due more to many years of being here more than actual experience in a lot of areas. If you have the option to take your job with you (remote) and are not bound by family obligations, maybe moving to one of the cities you mentioned would be worth it. Nashville would probably be a lot cheaper. LA, not so much.

Maybe you could share your spending range. I can't offer any advice about the streets because that has not been my go-to.
