I know I'm late chiming in on this thread, but I just ended up here out of curiosity about pictures of a dirty floor in the photo gallery.

When I saw Cephlapod Love's collage of his top 5 choices for the FACE contest, he had labeled each pic in the collage with the SW's name, which made it very convenient to tell them apart. I discovered that it was not such a big deal using my software to add labels, so I am doing that with this one and I most likely will with subsequent collages as well. Imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery.

I wish now that I would have labeled the collages from the beginning of the contest, but better late than never.

One maintains that she gets cold feet (even in the summer).

One agrees with the psychology theory, even though she tells clients who ask that it is a force of habit.

One usually wears longer socks and uses them as her piggy bank.

One says the floors in many places are nasty, dirty, whatever (in one place there was a stem on a "freshly made" bed, so she says imagine what could be on the floor, maybe a shattered stem that would give you a nasty infection). Even in nicer notels it was just force of habit.

One didn't really know. She was just more comfy in her socks.

So I don't know that this provides any closure on the issue other than to say there are a lot of different reasons and probably a few more.

I apologize for that. I saw that you had only recently first posted and then I saw the November 30, without paying particular attention to the year: my bad. Your vote for Precious definitely counts. She has made a rapid advance from behind, and is now in a dead heat with Aundrea and Baby Cakes for Miss Spinner of the Year. She is also now a front runner in other categories for which she is nominated. This emphasizes more than ever that, just as in political elections, the few who take the time to vote can disproportionately determine the winner (not that I am taking anything away from Precious; I just am making the point that every vote counts, even the wrongly initially perceived "hanging chad" like yours that is now judged to be a valid ballot.).
