Oh that brings back the good ole days. Toney was a killer. Another one that comes to mind is Vinnie Johnson. He was another one that was a pain in the ass for the Celtics.

With Covid-19 rampaging the globe and no live sports to watch, anyone wishes to chat about classic games that forever will be remembered Boston based as well as global?. My personal favorites, 1981 ECF. Celtics, Vs Sixers. That series will forever be a rabid dogfight. The Celtics were down 3-1 to Philadelphia only to come back and win three straight. I have yet to see anything like that topped. Superbowl 51, where were you guys watching the game and do you often watch it?. I do for inspirational purposes. It just shows us to never ever give up. By far the greatest Superbowl e-v-e-r!. Game 7 playoff hockey. Bruins VS the Toronto Maple Leafs. The of the great comebacks in playoff hockey. Incredible. Red Sox, 2004 ALCS En route to winning the World Series. As far as I'm concerned, 2004 ALCS WAS the World Series. Of course, there are some heartbreaking moments in Boston sports. Does anyone wish to discuss?.

    Brady

Without question he is the GOAT. Well, we all kind of knew this was coming but it is still sad. I don't really care whose fault it is, and it is time to move on. He does not want to be here and Bill does not appear to want him, so it sounds mutual to me. Rebuild.

Tom, I hope it works out for you, but at 43, I also hope you don't undermine your GOAT status because there are lots of haters out there who will love to tear you down. I wish you had retired on top after the last ring.

Bill, you are probably also the GOAT, but let's see what you can do without Tom.

To all my monger friends, stay safe and remember, it is only a game after all.

And maybe this panic is going to prevent us having to live through a full Red Sox season given how that was looking. Might be one of the few good things about this virus.

    The Brady Era is over.

I kinda knew in the back of my mind that he wasn't coming back. This year fucking sucks. Kobe is gone, Coronavirus, Tom's gone, the world is in a goddamn panic. What in the fuck, man?.

EDIT: I needed a few minutes to calm myself down. What a hell of a career. Sad to see that it’s over, and I wish Brady would just retire because it’s time. That said, Belichick will be proven correct on moving on from Brady. It’s time to rebuild this team with a younger core for the next dynasty. Brady wouldn’t be a part of that regardless of whether he played another season here.

I was doing my regular run-through of stations yesterday and caught FOX talking about transmission happening through leaky water pipes, people in a building 10 floors away from an infected person acquiring the virus. It sounded pretty damn ridiculous to me but, it made me wonder if / how much it is easier to catch the typical flu. Seems that contagion is moving a lot faster than SARS did and people are struggling to get over it. Under 10,000 SARS cases 2003-4, and so far over 60,000 Coronavirus cases. SARS appears far more deadly though with about 10% not surviving. Overall, I think this whole thing is overblown. Simply wash your hands routinely. What's so freaking hard about that?.

Maybe won't be shutdown all together, but fans may start to stay home. NHL and NBA playoffs with empty seats. There goes homefield advantage.
Well things are being shutdown by the leagues. NBA suspended, no spectators at NCAA tournaments.

    Hockey and Baseball next?

    Celts in ECF?

The subject matter, will Tom stay or go to La La land, will the Celtics go to the ECF, take on possibly the Bucks and win the ECF?. The exciting game from the Bruins last night against the Panthers. Wow!, that was a fun game!. Could the Bruins redeem themselves and win it all?. Looking at the NHL East and West standings, could the Bruins be setting up for a re-match against the Blues?. Discuss!
Celts will not be in the finals if they play the way they did the other night blowing a 20+ point lead and crapping out in OT.

Yeah, they have injuries, but no way they should have lost that game.

If they get healthy and play the way they are capable, they can do it. But have my doubts.

I think Tom will go. Likely scenario, switching places with Rivers.

There is some rumour that he will go to SF and Garappolo will come back here. Doubt that will happen. Sure Tom will like to go there. But can't see having an aging QB replacing one that is a lot younger and seems to have a good upside.

Can see Tom in Tenessee as well with the Vrabel connection. We would still sign Rivers.

No reason for Tom to stay. Think he is tired of Bill and wants to show the world he can win without the hoodie.

Hoodie will also like to show the world he can win without Tom.

    Interesting times ahead!

Sorry for late responding and joining this topic but I would want to have his jersey retired. Not only did he won us a ring and brought us to the ECF multiple times, he parted ways in NETting, pun intended, multiple first round picks to help rebuild our dynasty after his departure.

Name another player out has a history of injuries and at his age worth multiple 1st round picks? Of course Paul Pierce and. I think Terry? Was part of the package deal to help get us the trade but that's a gain for Celtics.

He's the only Celtic who deserves his number retired after playing only for a brief period. Well deserved, without question. He changed the culture of the Celtics. That fierce sickening, stifling defense was insane!. If you recall, the 07-08 Texas road trip where the Celtics went down and swept them all?(ended the Houston Rockets 23 game winning streak, beat Dallas and San Antonio?) No KG, no championship, and the captain's leader's (Pierce) career would have ended up differently. KG may have only worn the Celtic uniform for 6 years, but he is a Celtic through and through.
I think Garnett definitely deserves his jersey hanged at the Garden, and obviously in Minnesota too. If it wouldn't be for Garnett we'd still be chasing our post-Bird championship. As much as hate to say this but you could've found a player of Paul's caliber around the league, and Ray's caliber too. But Kevin's no way. Kevin is up there approaching Kobe's level while the other two, with all my love for Paul who was a great player and total clutch, I just don't see it.

There is no doubt that Kevin played for Paul's team and not the other way around. And if we only retired the most "Celtics" Celtics numbers that signify generations of great teams we had here than I think it would only be Russel, Bird and Pierce up there. But since this is not the case and we got 22 retired Celtics at the rafters. Kevin just must be one of them.

I mean think about it, if Toronto were to retire one jersey from that great last year's championship team that they had, do you really think it should be Kyle Lowry (who? A good player who's been with the club forever, or should it be 'the reason' they got that championship despite of the fact that that 'reason' only played there for a year?
