The walk from parking in Otay mesa to Mexican side is about 3 x that in San Ysidro. That area is dark and sketchy, taxis are scarce.

I was looking to do similar thing. But on the san ysidro side. Because its only 1 kilometer from down town tijuana at least on google maps.
