Been following Mia casually on Twitter / X for a while now and saw her running a $200 deal to film with VIP included. I contacted here and comms were great. Figured I give it a shot and deposit the $200 since she was coming up to Dayton in the following days. She had posted a month or so ago about getting yeeted from CA, Venmo, etc, so I got her an Amazon card. Anyway, comms were great until the day before we supposed to meet. It may have less to do with self defense and more to do with why you are there. If unfortunately this hobbyist was carrying and push came to shove, and police showed up. If investigating it came out that you were there paying an escort for services (soliciting in the eyes of the law), you were committing a misdemeanor. If you were armed while soliciting and brandished it, per the Ohio revised code listed above, they could turn it into a felony and if convicted the misdemeanor ticket just turned into a mandatory 3 year prison sentence. At the very least, it would cost someone thousands in attorney fees to argue out of it.

As much as I have thought about putting my glock in my console when cruising, it's just not worth the added risk of explaining it away. And I believe whole heartedly in self defense.

Like you said, best case scenario you point a gun, scare them off and they run away. But, what if they don't run? You just drew a gun on someone and now have to either shoot them or walk out. Let's say you shoot them. The cops show up and question you about why you were at a hotel, what happened, how do you know the victim and run checks on you. You better have a damn good story made up as to what is going on. The whole carrying a gun thing might make you feel bad ass, but it puts even more risk on you.

The law you listed is the mandatory gun spec law that was enacted to add 3 years onto any sentenced where a gun was used in commission of a crime. If you robbed a store you were sentenced for the robbery plus the mandatory 3 year gun spec law. That's totally different than SYG self defense laws. And I never said he needed to fire the weapon, when shithead pulled the knife, he pulled his firearm, ordered shithead into the bathroom with the skank, then he could have left peacefully. I don't disagree with you. And myself and any attorney would argue the same interpretation of that also. But that's the point. The thousands of dollars it would cost for you and all the publicity for you to have to argue that. It is nothing for the judicial system to stack charges on someone even if it can be remotely connected. Watch any youtube video of cops in action. 'I told him to sit down and he kept standing". Resisting, 'I told him to shut up while I was asking questions and he kept interrupting'. Obstruction. If any hobbyist gets caught in a situation like this, I guarantee the cops are going to detain everyone until they can stack as many charges as they can on everyone there, including the hobbyist. Then when it gets to the prosecutors, they are going to stack even more. And what do they care? They don't The cops will show up to court just fine, because they are on the clock getting paid to do it. The prosecutor, he gets paid to show up to court and hit you with as much as possible. The judge, he gets paid to sit there and listen to you try and get out of it. The entire judicial system gets paid to put you through the system. And if all the charges fail, nothing happens to them. They go about their day and do it to someone else. And you are left with the huge attorney fee, possible loss of job, and any explanation to family members. Even if you do get off.

Trust me, I completely understand where you are coming from. Every time I read these stories I think the same thing. I Just want to watch that punks face when he realizes he brought a pocket knife to a gunfight and watch him beg. But unfortunately to many things could go sideways. Not to mention even if no shots were fired and he gave you all his money in return. Best case scenario they write off there losses and try it again on the next guy. Worst case scenario he beats the crap out of the girl.

Anywho, just my 2 cents. I usually stay out of these conversations. Be safe, these forums are a great tool to stay safe. And if I had the opportunity, I would buy Monger407 a beer any day for coming out of that and reporting it to use so we can be safe and avoid it. Saw her for the first time 2 weeks ago after a long time of trying to get response from her. I had a really good hhr visit and would definitely repeat. Everything was expected from her reviews. Then last night I received a response for a QV that I've text earlier. Got there and went in the room where she's at and noticed a lot more stuff in the room than before and she said she has a friend staying with her now. She asked for donation and I obliged thinking it's fine since this is a repeat visit. Then she said she had to go to the bathroom to answer a call. Before I suspect something is not right, the door opens up and her handler / bf showed up screaming asking who I was. He then pull out a pocket knife and asked for all the cash I had and my wallet. I only have about $30 bucks and no wallet since I don't usually bring it with me. After about 5 min back and forth, he finally let me go since that was all I've got. Be careful with this one. She was fine when she was by herself a couple weeks ago. I would not see her with her current roommate in the picture.

I do not see how that law defends your case. Read it carefully with an open mind. Even if you are not charged you will waste more time and money than just handing over the money and leaving.

It would be the almost for certain news coverage that I'm most worried about. As for many of us this is a "secret" lifestyle. I'd have a hard time explaining why I was at some hotel near my house or some place in the hood to people in my personal life LOL.

But SYG is a slippery slope, we aren't cops, there has to be hard evidence we feared for our lives and had to use deadly force.

I carry with the mindset to use only in a life or death situation. It's simply not worth it otherwise. This is precisely why I only leave my house with the agreed upon donation (plus a few extra bucks just in case) my keys, burner phone and pew pew. I also make it known in a form of asking rates that this is all I'll have on me, I typically say something along the lines of "I leave my wallet at home, so what are your donations again?" A handful of girls have stopped replying or even hung up on me over the years, I feel like this tactic has saved me from set ups.

The few times it hasn't, I was only out the donation and change I brought, and blue balls. I never really fear for my life. I knew the routine and just showed empty pockets. They never followed me to my car and if they did, that's when I would have introduced S&W to them and took the offensive. But a lot still would have had to happen to pull the trigger.
