What April, and others, need to realize is you tip your waiter / waitress after you've been given service and that the amount of tip correlates to the service provided. We go in with some minimal expectations of what we will get. If that service is below expectations then don't expect a penny more from me. And waitresses do not get $100 of the $170 for a half hour of their time that you do.
