Manager was shot and killed last night. No other details I know of. Shame, I actually got along with him! RIP!

Can anyone confirm the "incident" last night? Allegedly near closing time?

Overall, the past couple of weeks have been weird. This month I club-hopped every weekend and some weekdays. The extracurricular fun is not as available as in the past, and I'm even including dancers whom I've had fun with in the past. My guess is that that extracurricular fun is only worth it for dancers if they are making good consistent money. With the way crowds have been looking, I doubt they are making good consistent money even with extra fun. Not only that but since regular nightclubs and bars close early I notice a lot of civilians showing up just to hang out. Especially on the weekends. It seems the majority of girls on 7th street have their friends come over to hang out.
This month I was more or less told no extra fun by more 7th street dancers than in my four previous pre-covid years combined. Contrary to my username, I am not new to this and know the game. Now might be a time to hibernate, or stay close to your trusted go-to.

I haven't been in Louisville to hit the clubs in about 2. 5 months but I have seen the same kind of drop off in the Indianapolis, Columbus and Cleveland areas over the past several weeks.
My guess is that the crowds a few months ago were at a peak level and are now returning to normal. They were busier than normal based on a combination of people that have been basically locked in their homes for a year and extra money in their pockets from government stimulus checks. Add in the fact that many dancers were itching to get back to making money in the clubs and it was a perfect storm for the industry.
Plus, the first couple of weeks after Derby is usually a slow time in L'ville due to everyone partying for the Derby and then taking a break afterwards.
I won't have the chance to club in Louisville until sometime late next month so hopefully things pick back up by then.

What the hell has happened to Thorobred? Last time I was there, sometime in early to mid March, the place was hopping. Lots of girls, and most of them hot. Lots of customers, and most of them seemed to be spending.
Fast forward to last night (Friday, the week after Derby) and it couldn't have been more different. There were about a dozen names on the board, but I saw only a few girls, not all that attractive, out on the floor, and they were mostly sitting around in their hoodies not even trying to talk to customers.
Of course, with the exception of a few guys I've seen in several clubs around town, the place was dead, but you'd think in that case at least a few of them would have approached me, but not a single one did.
To top it off, there was a couple in the club that everyone seemed to know and the DJ seemed to think the woman should get on stage. Not sure why he thought so, but it seems like it pissed them off enough that they left. Both of them looked irritated.
And I see below somebody posted a $10 cover. That must have just been for Derby. It was only $5 last night.
I was there from about 10:30 until just after midnight.Last edited by Zomby; 05-15-21 at 18:18. Reason: Add cover charge info/time info
