I did my last 10 years at a joint services command and retired recently. Although the military consists of less than 2% of the population, civilians do not know how much sacrifice we make to keep America free. I used to live down at the veteran's housing in Barbers Point. Sometimes the homeless veterans would get card board from the trash bin and sleep in the bushes next to building. Many cannot handle the rules at the housing and prefer to drink or take drugs. The housing conducts random drug tests.

Our stupid State legislatures assumed that the Federal government would reimburse the medical / dental and other social programs these Micronesians get for injuries suffered during the atomic testing, which amounts to over $700 million each year which we taxpayers are left holding the bag. That being the case since the Federal government negated, we should be allowed to deport not just the criminals, but the entire family as well back to either the States that benefitted from the atomic testing such as nuclear power plants or back to Micronesia. Why should taxpayers be responsible for their actions when we are hosting them with free benefits that we have to pay for?

Well, they stay moving in now and making house. Went past there this morning and some micro wahines was in one tent / shanty erected on the spot (and on the sidewalk) where the vehicle when go inside Kalakaua Canal. Mark Sykap, 18, was arrested for the alleged robbery. HPD says he and a 21-year-old used force and a "dangerous instrument" to rob a 20-year-old woman around 1 am Saturday at the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Philip Street.

That's the same location where I remember Sykap, a relative of the suspect, was shot and killed by police earlier this month.

Loved ones of I remember have set up a memorial at that corner following the incident in which HPD refuses to release body camera footage.

Saturday's victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Officers found Sykap back at the scene around 9 pm Saturday when the arrest took place.
