Today's excursion took me to the other side of town from Deep Roots and Lily. Way out past the airport on I-59 to the Roebuck region where I found One T Therapy near where Highway 75 meets up with Highway 11 and Interstate 59 at the Center Point exit. If you exit the interstate headed north, do a quick 180 so that you are headed south on old Highway 11. After a block or two, the building sits between Roebuck Plaza Drive and Shopping Center Drive behind the Sprint store. One T shares a building with some sort of cash advance and title loan organization. There's a big "One T" sign on the north side of the building. The door to One T in on the east side of the building near a neon "open" sign, around the corner from their parking lot. The area there is a confusing maze of small streets and hundreds of small businesses. Recommend consulting something like Google Maps if you are unfamiliar with the area.

For the history buffs, this was the old location of the VIP spa which was busted and closed up seven years ago in February of 2014. Ocean Spa was located a little less than a mile up Highway 75 before it was raided and closed in 2018. A trend, perhaps? Apparently, the location was too good to pass up and One T opened up in the old VIP location under new management and staff.

Once you enter the door on the east side you are in a small foyer with a doorbell next to another door. Once rung, I was greeted by a small Chinese house mother who pointed me to a room off to the left. Then she held out a small plastic tray to collect the house fee. The furnishings in the room were standard, but the table had no "donut" hole for your head, only a pillow. Was pleased to note they had a warm towel oven inside the room. The music was a small radio tuned to some local station. I drew Mikki, a masked but otherwise attractive Asian somewhere in her 30's, about 5'4" and fairly slender. She wore a red lacy dress and had long brunette hair down below her waist. She offered a shower and sauna, but since I was still shower fresh, I opted out. I might try that another time. After she spritzed my hands with some alcohol disinfectant, Mikki sat down on my thighs while she worked on my back which felt kinda nice since she only weighed a few pounds over 100. The only negative to report that way was the absence of a donut hole forces you to crane your head and neck to one side or the other in order to breath while wearing a mask.

The massage was satisfactory; but surprisingly, this was the first place I've been to in a while that didn't use any sort of oil. Mikki was very friendly and offered up a little tease before the flip and the following discussion the rest of the tour "de jour. " I find it fascinating how much communication can take place between two people of different cultures and languages with only a few hand gestures. Because of the unfortunate history of the area regarding spas, I will be purposely vague from here on out, since individual expectations and pocketbooks may vary. Suffice it to say, it was a pleasant experience and I may repeat if circumstances find me in that location once again.

A quick Google search reveal a little more about Oasis. Photos display a Chinese motif, although an Asian staff is not specifically mentioned. The small amount of reviews ranged from excellent to "not worth the money. " Establishment seems to be upscale and similar to Roots. Photos show rooms for single and couples massage, typical massage chairs, etc. Oasis is in Arbor Place, a decent looking strip mall with other establishments like a pizza place, karaoke lounge, and nail salon. Hours are the same as Roots and Lily: 9 am - 9:30 pm Have not seen this place reviewed here before. I suspect the quality would be similar to Roots, their nearest neighbor, but that will require an in person evaluation. Maybe later, after I have sampled One T.

I've tried Oasis a couple of times. Seems to be totally legit with zero teasing. They drape you with a sheet the entire time. Doesn't even appear to be anything that may turn into something.

On the way back from a Deep Roots sortie I noticed that there was a spa called Oasis on the east side of 280 near the Shelby-Jefferson county line (this is not the Vestavia one). Is it legit or an Utr CAMP (if there is such a thing)?

I can confirm that Kudzu Kid's report is 100% accurate regarding Kiki.

According to Kiki, Coco works from 4-8 pm.

Was in the neighborhood and dropped in to Lily on Highway 280 this morning (Sunday). They are still short staffed. Only one girl there. Was ushered into a room and I undressed. After waiting naked on the table almost 30 minutes, I gave up, redressed and let myself out. Drove a mile farther south to Deep Roots and this time drew Kiki, with no waiting. I think she said Kiki. I'm hard of hearing and between masks, and heavily accented Chinenglish, most of my communication consists of one or two words and a good deal of sign language. Coco must have been on leave, but Kiki was a good substitute. She was about 40, five foot tall, short dark hair, body was no longer slender, but not unattractive. She didn't wear a bra, which I found unusual for most establishments of the sort I have patronized. The massage was quite good, but the girls at Roots could learn a few things from the dearly departed crew at Kung Fu. The tease factor (foreplay or whatever) at Kung Fu was amazing. While my experiences at Roots has been ultimately satisfactory each time, the tease was lacking by comparison. That tease alone, made it worth the trip. But I digress. Roots provides a good massage in a good environment with a predictable and satisfying resolution. I have read some reviews of One T and perhaps on my next safari I can provide a report on that establishment.

Yes I saw the review you mention, though not really sure what prompted the snark. I was looking for more specifics on the menu, and / or others experiences that may shed light on other available options. While I appreciate you took time to respond, I was targeting my question to those who are slightly more constructive with their feedback.

Anyone who has info they're willing to share, I'd be grateful, otherwise I'll report back with my experience.
