I narrowly avoided a sting a few months back, and I decided that it was safer to have a simple cast-iron rule of any discussion started through an open window is a red flag, so I politely make my excuses and drive on. No exceptions. Pretty much everyone knows the rules. In theory. But when you're in that situation it's not as easy as you think it will be. The situation unfolds quickly and the UC will not directly ask you what you want or how much you want to pay. As I recall the opening question was "do you have somewhere to go near here". Most people will probably say yes to see what they come back with. No harm in seeing what's on offer, right? But now you're in conversation (probably recorded) and it's harder to analyze all the implications of everything you say in real time as the dialog continues.

Yes, it sounds dumb but I'm sure all the gents whose photos were given to the press thought that they were just going to start with some innocent banter and to gauge things as they progress. But they ended up saying enough that they got arrested, which is punishment enough.

My feeling is that the minimum level of security is to only start a discussion once you're a block away driving down the road. I don't think a female UC would take that kind of risk. A male, maybe. As I recall the Cryin' Beggar got busted after they were on the road well away from the pick up.

The main thing is to decide where the line is and don't make exceptions in the hope that you'll recover the situation if it starts going bad.

Had to chime in saw this a while back, I know of a situation where the UC got in the car and tried asking for roses for her kids, candy, problems, etc.. What was explained to me was guy noticed non marked backup was following. The goose chase ended with him dropping her off at the HQ. Kind a like a warning.

Great idea and I've done that before for a much lesser bond, but the math don't work on this one! I see her for a Grant or less every time, that's 10 to 12 visits worth for her bail. She's offered to stay the night at my place basically for free before. I would only had to have paid for one round for the night. So paying a crisp William McKinley to a Bondsman for one night isn't logical for me. Especially knowing that she will probably skip bail again.

I almost wrote her earlier today to try to meet. We spoke a couple times over the weekend. I am glad I didn't write her today. FTA for a non-hobby related issue with Uncle where he is asking for a super-steep Madison as the resort fee. I doubt she'll raise the funds to check out. I'm guessing with that price, they don't want her to leave any time soon.

Most certainly a YMMV person. I personally never had her successfully rip me off (she tried) but she sure has turned into a pretty consistently thieving fiend over the years.

I am sure I speak for the masses when I humbly say that we'd be happy to box her up and ship her up there to you and the Windy City. LOL. We also wish we could ship her former handler, current advocate and best friend up there too, but I don't think he's able leave the state right now, he's busy. Double LOL.

Thanks for your experience Suker. I have no doubt that she tried some shady shit on many of our brothers here, but also a firm believer in YMMV. If any of these girls try any shit on me, I'm driving their head through the dashboard. She never took my money and ran, she never gave me bad service, she never gave me an attitude, and to me is funny cause she knows me and she knows that I'm from Chicago and that she could steal my $$ or rip me off and is not like she would be loosing someone that would see her often.

Even though it's not going to be the totally normal patterns of out of towners due to COVID over the next 2 weeks, it can be hot for both providers and mongers of all vices, advertisers, SW, AMP, etc. With a major sporting event in the area (in Tampa with people overflowing into Orlando) LEO usually picks up the frequency of stings to clean up the streets well before major events. First they target providers to scare off the influx of travelers and transient providers. Then they go after mongers the days leading up to the actual event.

Just play it extra safe. Scrutinize all ads closely, don't violate SW rules of negotiation and keep your spidey senses sharp.

Some guys give into the demands of these girls and that's how they get robbed. If they keep on insisting for the coin up front, just kick her out. She was never going to go thru with the session with you.
