That doesn't seem to mesh with what I've heard about how they operate.

I was told a story about a bust in a northern suburb. Two ladies we'll call A and B were working out of a northern suburb notel. A had a date who was busted as he left the room and Vice charged in and took A's phone. They tried to take B's phone also but she put up a lot of resistance and they had nothing on her so they told her to get out. From A's phone they saw she had 2 more dates that afternoon and they made her keep them. They told her she would not be charged if she cooperated with them. Each time the john left after the date he was busted. And they would take him back to the room for A to identify. They would also ask the john what her name was. They had her drivers license and the john only had her work name from her ad.

I'm not an expert opn how they operate but it would seem strange to me that they pull him over on a BS auto charge and then start talking about soliciting charges.

That's the thing that has me baffled. There was no threat made. No talk of arrest. Just asked if I was willing to answer some questions, and when I said I would like to have an attorney they pretty much left.

With just 3 posts, it seems to me you are fishing. Might be I'm just too cautious. No one here would give that kind of personal info broadcast for all to search.

If this happened you would have been told for what crime / offense they wanted you to defend or help prosecute. The biggest, really, is the fact that deal making would be done downtown not through a car window. If vice had any evidence to suspect you of, they would have made things miserable for you because they do not have the time to stop by to talk via car windows.

It would be interesting to know why the others are shutting down, really. They seemed to work around FOSTA by locating their servers and their persons outside the U.S. So I'm wondering, is the EU now cracking down? Or other countries? Or is it a matter of more financial institutions cracking down on their ability to process payments?

I did hear something from a Listcrawler provider a few weeks ago that was different. She said she'd been shut down from posting by LC for some reason -- her account suspended -- and tried to start up again. But she couldn't even do it under a new email address, because they were requiring the posters to show a photo ID, and she had the same name and I'd as previously used. It was unclear why her original account was shut down. But overall it seemed a lot more stringent than LC used to be. Apparently, that wasn't enough.

Hobby has been around before the internet, and will be around if it's gone. Selling pussy for cash has always been a thing, and referrals have been a part of it. You'll have the ones that can't get in the club and bang streetwalkers, and you'll have the ones that are part of a groups that refer each other. Plenty of pussy to buy out there. Nothing to fret about.

I'd argue that if this site is the only way you're finding pussy, then the hobby may die for you. Not everyone else, since most people aren't on this site.
