I love Garnett but there is no way in hell he deserves to have his jersey hung. He only played 6 seasons for Boston and was injured for half of that. He wasn't a Celtics legend. Hang his jersey in Minnesota.

Sorry for late responding and joining this topic but I would want to have his jersey retired. Not only did he won us a ring and brought us to the ECF multiple times, he parted ways in NETting, pun intended, multiple first round picks to help rebuild our dynasty after his departure.

Name another player out has a history of injuries and at his age worth multiple 1st round picks? Of course Paul Pierce and. I think Terry? Was part of the package deal to help get us the trade but that's a gain for Celtics.

He's the only Celtic who deserves his number retired after playing only for a brief period. Well deserved, without question. He changed the culture of the Celtics. That fierce sickening, stifling defense was insane!. If you recall, the 07-08 Texas road trip where the Celtics went down and swept them all?(ended the Houston Rockets 23 game winning streak, beat Dallas and San Antonio?) No KG, no championship, and the captain's leader's (Pierce) career would have ended up differently. KG may have only worn the Celtic uniform for 6 years, but he is a Celtic through and through.

I think Garnett definitely deserves his jersey hanged at the Garden, and obviously in Minnesota too. If it wouldn't be for Garnett we'd still be chasing our post-Bird championship. As much as hate to say this but you could've found a player of Paul's caliber around the league, and Ray's caliber too. But Kevin's no way. Kevin is up there approaching Kobe's level while the other two, with all my love for Paul who was a great player and total clutch, I just don't see it.

There is no doubt that Kevin played for Paul's team and not the other way around. And if we only retired the most "Celtics" Celtics numbers that signify generations of great teams we had here than I think it would only be Russel, Bird and Pierce up there. But since this is not the case and we got 22 retired Celtics at the rafters. Kevin just must be one of them.

I mean think about it, if Toronto were to retire one jersey from that great last year's championship team that they had, do you really think it should be Kyle Lowry (who? A good player who's been with the club forever, or should it be 'the reason' they got that championship despite of the fact that that 'reason' only played there for a year?

Have to agree with Tatum and Brown being allowed to grow with Kemba. Irving is a much more talented player but a killer of team play I kinda hope Hayward ops out after this year to start fresh someplace else or just moves to a lesser role if he stays Also Kevin Garnet deserves the honor even if it was for the way he played the game a true Alfa dog. Guys played harder with him on the team cause they were afraid if they didn't he would kick their ass or worse expose them as unworthy a great motivation.

This is a great team win as well. Smart was awesome, Kemba clutch in key moments, Grant stepped up on D when both our centers went down, and Hayward with some clutch rebounds and steals to make up for his horrible shooting. This win had me PUMPED!. I forgot!. Wednesday night around 11 as I was walking through the Prudential, I saw Doc (Doc Rivers). He said hello to me as he passed by. I said hello as well. I think he was on his way to Eddie V's for the seafood. As far as I 'm concerned, he doesn't have to pay for anything in this city for obvious reasons why.

Irving has incredible talent but his mental and emotional stability is suspect. Thank God for Kemba. He's a talented ball player that doesn't require the ball or the spotlight all the time.

Tatum and Brown have expanded their respective games right before our eyes. Being free of Irving, and playing with Kemba has helped in their growth a lot. But for Tatum being on the team, Brown would have had a better chance of being named to the AllStar squad, but no way would the NBA take three from the Celts for the AllStar game.

I just finished watching Mookie and David put on their new uniforms for the Dodgers. This is bullshit. I can also call that the tickets prices are going up, their farm system is decimated and the front office could give a fuck because they know long time Sox fans will pay top dollar to watch an old blowhards' game for 4 fucking hours. And I won't even go into Red Sox. The Pats were never like Arizona that never went anywhere. The Pats would suck for a couple of seasons, but then be ok for one. As I said we got to SB twice before Brady and you can't look at it as an example of having it all that bad. Really.

If you recall, Rod Rust and Dick McPherson we're gut-wrenching awful!. I was in my early 20's watching those two royally screw my beloved team to oblivion. Does 1-15,2-14 sound familiar?. So help me, I never want to feel that ever again. If anything, I would place more blame on the past owners. They had NO damn business funning a football team. Look at what happened to the Redskins!.

Oh, that I know you're right in that. I just don't think it was as bad as people make it out to be. We're bunch of spoiled brats here, that's all. Maybe not next year but still I don't envy the QB that eventually would take Brady's spot. Jimmy G is a lucky guy to be groomed here but not to actually end up being the one to follow Brady here. Just look at what happened to those that led Denver after Elway retired.

I remember when Jim Plunkett was drafted, hopes where high only to be dashed time & again, we had some great players come through here but never a united team from the top down till Kraft took over.

Parcels ended up a bust & then Belichick stepped in realized Bledsoe wasn't the answer & gave Brady the opportunity & it's been pedal to the metal ever since.

So for me the Pats were always all that bad before the holy trinity, the three men I admire most the father son & holy ghost, Kraft, Brady & Belichick.

Look, I'm not saying that it was a great organization on the par with San Fran or Washington or many others. But we did go to Superbowl twice, even before Kraft and it's true. We lost both but AFC teams always lost back then, even the great Bills team of the 90's "always" lost before Elway finally put an end to it. I remember that many didn't care for Tony Eason, but wasn't he the guy that first brought a wild card team to the Superbowl though? The team that had "no chance"? All I'm saying that it wasn't all that bad even before Brady, and yes, Kraft or no Kraft, Belichick or no Belichick, if we didn't get an accidental winning hand with Brady who knows where we would be now.

Hmmm I seem to remember the AFC Steelers having a dynasty during the 70's with 4 Superbowl wins within six years, but you are right that the NFC dominated Superbowl wins from 1982 to 2000, but all in all the NFC & AFC are tied with 27 wins a piece.
