One is so generic, no research was possible.

I personally have not. It's probably an ok thing to sign up for to reach a broader selection. The downside, it's just another way to give up personal info, (depending on what's required) Name, Credit Card info, e: mail etc. Which usually gets sold to other's. Exposure, Hackers, Robo Callers bad combination. Call me an old fool but I think Face Book is a time bomb waiting to go off as far as privacy and I'm not just talking about it being instigated here in the US. All that said if the Robo Calls and that sort of thing doesn't bother you, go for it. Or it may be a fun time with none of the above
