I concur counselor. I went to 390 recently during the early afternoon and there was no one manning the front counter so I just walked in. Absolutely not! We used to roll through Club O and the Skybox on Sundays for football games all the time and after 7 pm in mondays for MNF.

I thought club o went out of business? It was bought out and reopened with the crazy hours and is almost exclusively a black club now. I'd not go there. 390 is what 15 minutes away?

I use to go there in the afternoon too. I haven't been there in 6-7 years though.

Skybox in Harvey was a go to spot for me. Beer was cheap, free pizza was available, constant array of girls introducing themselves and asking for a dance. Great place to go to talk to a girl.

Is that likely in any Chicago clubs (and I'm going to be stuck downtown so it's downtown clubs I'm concerned with). Is it pretty much a given as it was in NY, or a maybe, or a only if you are extremely lucky and / or have deep pockets?

I've gone to 390 which is far south of chicago and they do allow you to roam as long as the girl is ok with it. 390 has a good mix of talent ethnically and you can even get in free if you check in with YELP and show the hostess. They also don't hound you on the 2 drink minimum. A few years ago I got a few extras during a dance as well, but I've heard they aren't on the table anymore. But I agree with the other guy, you'd be better off with an escort unless you're just a strip club kind of guy.
