I wanted to thank you all for the well-wishes. Activity is moving along. Feel free to call the store and ask for me if you want to discuss more details. I think you've seen the Yelp and Google reviews. We have a wonderful worker Anna who would probably stay. I've had some people ask about partnerships or other arrangements. Mei and I are signed on the lease and have all the licenses. So, I could see a joint venture or something of a transition. The store has paid for itself several times over. We could double the staff (we have 4 rooms two foot sofas and a sauna) but I don't want the aggravation. We have good relations with the police, fire,landlord, and all of our neighbors.

Once my American wife and I buy a house, probably in or near Temecula, Calif, I'll start looking for an apartment for Mei and a business for her. I like to say I'm willing to overpay if the place has potential. Mostly its a quality of life thing. Our time-frame is flexible. I guess I'll need a "U"-haul or POD for Mei's stuff. Life is funny. She started in America with two suitcases. Now she has 3-4 rooms full of stuff. If anybody has suggestions on moving, I'd like to hear.

Bob! Congratulations and best wishes on your move! It is almost like a fairy tale how far and successfully you've come along managing two life partners and two careers! I sincerely wish it continues for a very long time. From what I've heard Temecula is lovely place and perhaps not as expensive as LA and other places in CA. As regards moving your goods over 2000 miles is going to cost a pretty penny. As others have suggested it is better off to sell most of the big items such as furnitures and anything that can be easily replaced. The most economical way is to rent a truck like Penske or Budget. One way rental for a 20 - 25 foot truck costs about 1500. For Mei's goods you could consider shipping a Pod (about $800) or even by UPS or Fedex ground box. For about 100 lbs the cost should be about $150.

It is more expensive than Viagra or similar pills, but none of the side effects, permitting blood to flow into the penis, that used to happen naturally when younger. This is an interesting alternative solution. I never knew this is an option at the Dr's office. I am assuming just as in Viagra, insurance companies wouldn't cover this procedure in most cases. Could you indicate how much would this injection cost and how long the effect of one injection last.

However, she should consider selling off most all of everything back here except bare essentials and keep sake items. One interesting part of your story here is your location. Without getting into details I am extremely familiar with that immediate area and have been for 40 years now even though I remain in chitown. The cost of moving household items across country in any which way or form is so expensive that one could dump all household items like beds and couches and buy new out there for less than it would cost to take something 2 k miles! Also keep in mind that southern Cali, vegas, et al are extremely transient locations obviously because of the weather. There are always great craigslist deals where you can set her up with a whole apartment full of like new stuff for next to nothing by using your cash! Get her back down to 2 suitcases. Less of a paper trail for you as well. Oh BTW- I am sure you have done your research- be prepared to pay astronomical prices for living spaces of any sort in that area! Southern Cali has gone completely over the top with rentals and sales. Completely out of my budget. Still looking into glitter gulch, however at least in vegas the property taxes are next to nothing because of the obvious. However, the real estate market is starting to come back. This is going to become an involved series of posts.

So my American wife retires in May and she's determined to get closer to the kids and grand-kids in Los Angeles. I don't want to go. But I have to go. And I am bringing Mei with me. Actually Mei wants to go also. Mei and my apartment lease is up in July. My house should sell sometime this summer. Buying a new house in April timeframe. San Diego / Temecula area. Getting Mei an apartment also in that area and buying a new business for Mei in that area. The logistics and secrets are absolutely insane. We will probably come back a few times a year to visit our friends.

Finally, and this is an important part: We want to either sell Mei's business in Buffalo Grove, or alternatively find a business partner or a trustworthy full time manager. Contact me if you are curious. It's a nice little business and it's legit.

Actually, this is the important part. I want to thank all the members who have shared ideas and thoughts on the forum. And thank you all for patronizing our business and helping us in so many ways. Mei and I have come along way in the past three years and we owe a lot to good friends and decent guys like you. We are are blessed to know you.

The Monger Spot has gotten off to a good start. A couple Hispanic girls and a young white girl sleepover. It's still a bit of a dump and needs some cleaning.
