Switter is a platform that caters more to providers than to hobbyists because the admin and mods are either providers or worked closely with them, and they are progressive advocates of provider safety. That's because the hotel gift card thing IS a scam and has been reported as such else where. There's a string of fake profiles on switter most likely operating under the same person / organization using this method. I've been using switter since it started and frankly it has never been worth using. Unfortunately there are few options available as the community in my area is pretty much based on switter.
