The "apology" argument for Japan's use of "comfort women" has been going on for 70+ years because each side had convincing arguments. If it was a simple matter of Japan enslaving Korean girls for their own benefit, the argument would have been settled long ago when apologies were made and reparations were paid to survivors. However the apology was not accepted by many and the argument continues to this day. On Japan's side, they have evidence showing that many of the women were paid and were in fact "richer than the generals". I am not condoning Japan's actions but when seen against the utter brutalities of the spoils of war in the rest of the world there is at least some compassion. At this point, I'm going to guess some of you are cracking your knuckles to write about how corrupt he is and how he had it coming. You're probably right.

It's going to be worse. You'll either get a new prosecutor whose mandate is going to be to clean up the mess Kaneshiro and Kealohas left in their wake. Or HPD and the prosecutor's office are going to be put under the supervision of a federal court, meaning a federal judge is going to be tasked with cleaning up the mess that Kaneshiro and Kealohas left in their wake (like the LAPD in the early 2000's because of Rampart).

In either case, I can't see the lax enforcement of the laws on the books with regards to the parlors continuing.
