Was driving through Harvey last night to go see a buddy and as I'm pulling up to the intersection I see cars in the parking lot for Arnie's. Under the sign Arnie's sign it says, "Boogie Nights, Yes we're open, now hiring dancers". So, as you've guessed Boogie Nights is the new name, not my favorite but whatever. It's only been the 4th day they've been back open. Everything looks the same, but it feels emptier with the lack of signs, decor, and slot machines. Didn't want to judge too harshly considering they just opened. The major difference is that they're open later now. On a Monday night, they closed at 4 so I'm guessing weekends will be 5.

Did it look like they still had the same staff working there (bartender, dj, bouncers)? Also, were there any dancers working when you were there and again was it the same ones from before? Thanks.

Their cover charge is $15 or $20 later in the day. They raised it from $10 last December because they got greedy and are stupid. They used to have free entry a few years back which is long gone. The only free food I'm aware of are the pretzels and lousy frozen pizza they stick out there. I actually wish they didn't even serve the food- it smells terrible. Seriously I try to sit away from it- it makes me want to vomit. What I do care about is the damn cover. I hate getting nickel and dimed. I have better things to do with my cash than to throw away $20 every time just to enter a freakin' bar. Not worth it.

Had a dream about Antonia tonight. Songs were 30, and the dream started at just a little more than 3 songs. Her english wasn't too good, but regardless the conversation was still great. Some day I'm going to visit Columbia!

Can you give any other info on Atlantis? Dancers? $$?

Checked out Heavenly Bodies Saturday around noon and it was free to get in before 1 pm with a text message. $5 after that. Sat not far from the stage. They had free food and the menu was ok. I was told that you can eat as much and order as much as you want. Not bad. I took advantage of the food and got a sandwich and salad with a $1. 50 beer.

As far a the talent goes it was not up to par because as soon as the girl got off stage the guys were taking her upstairs back to back and no one else was on stage while she was gone. I only seen like 2 girls working the entire time I was there and they stayed upstairs most of the time. The manager came around and apologized to everyone because it was slow with the girls and offered everyone a free drink. I took advantage of that too. I really didn't see much but getting in free, good priced drinks, comp drink and free food made up for it. I will probably return and give it another shot.

Yes, it is still there. It's now called Homers. Still the same layout but the single most overpriced place in the Chicago area. Low mileage dances are 40 per song, no negotiating, no exceptions.

The place down the street was called Back Of The yards, which was confusing since the neighborhood is the same name. It's no longer there. That was a crazy fun place in it's day.

I'm down there all the time at the flea and never knew something like that was down there. On another note been spending the last four days going from the big airport area to out rt 20 in elgin. Those jackshacks on 20 are still doing business as every night on the way back I saw cars. Not full lots, but they are still alive and well and ripping people off.

This pretty much describes the 'members only' bar that used to e in the back of the yards neighborhood. You had to be let in by a guy who looked through a slot in the door. The only had dancers on certain days. They worked independent of the bar and set their own rules on dances. No private area, just some chairs by the back of the bar. I don't think they ever had food.

Little update on Arnie's. Was over at Jimmys last Sunday and about 6 girls from Arnie's were working there. I was told that there is going to be no changes made except for the name. They're waiting on signs to be made so they can reopen. The dancer also said they just closed one day without telling them and they all showed up to work to find the doors chained up. Kind of messed up but I found it kind of funny.

I have not reviewed her business plan, but frankly, I find most of the places around here, I don't know, just sort of depressing, not fun. If it was me, I'd establish a small under the radar neighborhood bar. Good food. Cheap Beer. Female Bartenders, Female Waitresses. I'd want to make sure the place was profitable on its own. Dress code up to the girl. But not a strip joint. Not an Adult business establishment. Maybe a social club type of atmosphere. The idea would be to let folks socialize. A place people would go to for lunch every day. Regular Dancing permitted. If customers want to go out with the servers that's none of my business. Perhaps theme nights and talent shows. Maybe private parties. The point is I would make my money on food and drink and a packed house, not by forcing the girls to hustle and then taking a piece of the action. Honestly, it would be the kind of place I would go to hang out with forum members. Secure parking. Inside the club, strict adherence to the rules. My biggest concern would be visits from troublemakers.

Actually, as I think about it, it would be convenient to be located near some AMPs and motels. Yeah, I know its pretty lame.

The state of the USA These days with all of the political correctness it would be difficult to open up a legit adult business and not expect huge problems from whoever. The high end escort I knew as a "friend" started off working for a big agency in chi that was taken down in a major bust. Money was stolen let's say used as evidence? The one thing she told me was it was not if one was going to be taken down by someone, it was when! Good luck though.

So, of course you are all correct. Its a shame a person can't find a way to open a business like this. There are (at least) two questions (1) can such a business be started? (2) is this the person to do it? I mentor people with dreams but also try to steer them away from disaster. Mostly by asking questions. The forum is an interesting place to have the conversation since it has potential customers, potential investors, and subject-matter experts. It has always been curious how Chicago has such terrible clubs compared to so many other places.
