I can't help thinking that as long as LE is getting payoffs / kickbacks from the AMPs, assuming this is the situation in Honolulu, then LE has a good reason NOT to push too hard for shutting down the parlors.

I kind of wonder if things with HPD might change because of the changes at the top leadership and possible Federal scrutiny. Also seems the more recent LE actions and/or convictions of AMP owners/workers have been by the Feds. An example is the conviction of the Mayflower owner for bribery of a federal agent. I'm sure the Feds were curious in that she must have also done the same with local LE but nothing was ever reported or followed up on. The Feds could have squeezed her but I suppose they left it alone or she just accepted the charge. And on the other hand, if I were a vice HPD officer considering a working relationship with an AMP, I'd be afraid that an AMP owner or worker might report and testify against me as part of a deal if they get charged with a crime by the Feds.

Nothing in the HPD arrest logs for Ward Ave for the last 2 days. If there were arrests, should have shown by now, either for trafficking or the mongers. This sounds like a ICE "raid" and not an police raid. I'm sure the girls are spooked and that's why no one is answering the phones.

That raid was kind of drastic for shortening time. This time it's personal. Oh no, he didn't!

From my understanding ICE going in to check being most places but now the establishments are now aware of the work force law and now have girls filling out form I-9's. What I was told is the recent inspections had to do with IRS issues. Being the girls are of legal age and have working permits they are now checking to see if these workers are paying taxes. These inspections are not only at AMP's, they are aggressively looking at restaurants, bars, hotels, construction sites, farms amongst other working environments that has iffy working population where workers main income is tips has the possibility of ignoring the tax law.

I was also told that law enforcement is monitoring this site, especially now that it's back online to see who is popular and making a lot of money then will go to their place of work to check to see if indeed that are paying taxes.

There are several states nationwide that has tax laws for escort service, yes we can signup with the department of taxation in these states and fall under the escort tax category.

As for therapeutic massage establishments where the property owner has a license to do massage, they are inspecting to see if the masseurs, female or male has the paperwork and training to do massage.

Bottom line is they are going to places to do inspections and not "raids".

LE can try to get a witness or informer by finding some criminal charge against an AMP worker (ie. immigration, prostitution, tax violation, etc) and arrive at some sort of deal or plea bargain to drop or reduce the charges for assistance as a witness or informer to get the bigger fish. The squeeze play. I wouldn't doubt if the feds might even grant something like a green card for assistance in a federal case. The carrot and stick approach. Or it might even be just a very disgruntled AMP worker breaking the code of silence to get even and maybe get something out of it at the same time.

I have no first hand knowledge on these immigration / LEO AMP raids (investigations), however it stands to reason that if the Feds spent all those resources to deny massage businesses the ability to advertise online, they wouldn't stop there. The next phase is to harass these establishments from carrying on business as usual. The sex industry is resilient, but may be heading underground (making it less safe for both providers and patrons).

I've read a few comments where mongers have complained about being treated rudely by mamas. Maybe police harassment has something to do with it (just speculation on my part). Be courteous and understanding Brothers. These women are under stress. Just because we have our forum back, doesn't mean everything is hunky dorey now.
