No, no. Not that. I used it for facebook authentication. If you try to log on with an unexpected device they want to use an verification method, like text or phone call. That number gets associated with your account. Facebook privacy settings default such that someone can search by phone number. If they know a number that you have used on the account, they can find you.

For me this was no big deal, but some with a more secretive hobby could get burned.
