I had a provider tell me we could meet around there as there were some "hobby friendly" places. A quick Google Maps search for me turned up some places a few blocks north. Not places I think I'd want to be seen going into in broad daylight.

Could I be looking in the wrong direction? What about the hood, safe?

For what her donation is (no reviews, and the possible accommodations, I'm sceptical, but one never knows when you'll find the "hidden gem" in this hobby.

There are a number of lower end motels up and down Cicero from 92nd to 115th. All are sleazy but good enough for a shop and drop. Many providers get a room (they're 40-50 a night) then capitalize on the traffic they can get from BP, CL, etc. Even had one semi-regular that would take my donation and run to pay for the room before returning for hour.

But, they are all relatively safe if you are smart.

If she returned your call within 5 minutes she definitely was NOT out of line. For one thing, how would she even know if it was a buisness call if you left no message. Did you ever get a missed call from an unknown number? Did you ever redial? I think she did what everyone does.

Agreed. I even think some providers purposely don't answer the initial call and then call back within a few minutes. Don't think this was out of line.

If you're just going to hang up, write me off and move on (my opinion). Or wait for me to call back and apologize and explain I really couldn't talk at that point.

What kind of reaction would I have gotten if I started guessing names and getting them wrong. ?

If you call more than one provider and can't remember her name, then it's best to call just one and wait for her to respond to you. That's what I do.

I just went home. I'm not interested in reasoning anything out with these people.

Sounds like you need an app to get texts and make calls out of a different number from your "smartphone" .

If a provider has my interest I'll call her. If she doesn't answer I'll leave a message or text her. I'm never vulgar or rude when talking with these gals. You never know if you're talking to a potential ATF. Asking "Who Is This?" when a provider calls you back is never a good idea.

Whether your wrong or right, I have a policy of never getting rude with providers. Call it chivalry or whatever. Personally I agree with TonyDe in that if she called back soon after your initial call then there shouldn't be a problem. It might be embarrassing but at least she's showing some initiative. Plus I only tend to call women who have already piqued my curiosity. That said, I generally don't leave messages save perhaps with a very, very select few of my personal favorite providers.

A word of advice though; try to use a prepaid mobile phone. If you already have one use another mobile phone solely for mongering. That way you avoid many potentially embarrassing mix ups. Worst case scenario you call an AMP and ask for the wrong girl. You won't mistake an unknown provider's number for your wife or cousin or co-worker. You can even put your favorite providers' names in as contacts. Just make sure to password protect it if possible. It'll save you a lot of grief.

So this happened to me yesterday.

Been doing some scouting for a playmate for Saturday afternoon as I'll have some free time for some unrushed play. Went through the usual online sites and made a few calls. If it went to voicemail, I didn't leave a message and I moved on. As a rule I don't leave VMs for providers I'm unfamiliar with.

In my experience, and from what most providers I've seen have told me, a provider shouldn't call back an unknown number that didn't leave a message lest it cause some issues. Even some of the lower end BP providers get this. As one told me "Honey, I'm just killing my income if I do that!" She understood pissing off a potential client isn't a good business model.

Well, one decided to call me back just as answering her call would have been uncomfortable for me, maybe within 5 minutes of my calling her (I got some unexpected visitors). I answered, said hello and she asked "Did you just call me?" without telling me her name. I must have called 3 or 4 providers within the last 10 minutes of this call. I responded "I'm sorry, who is this?" Kinda what I figured was a natural reaction. You didn't tell me your name!

She hangs up on me, then proceeds to text me I should remember who I called! OK, maybe a valid point, but in my book not cool for her to call back when I didn't leave a message saying "Call me back please. " I was able to play it off as a wrong number. I don't know the number, out of state area code, they didn't say their name.

Later in the evening I texted her back I'm sorry, but (nicely) told her a provider calling back isn't cool as it could cause problems. When I woke up today I had 3 texts from her telling me I shouldn't tell providers how to conduct business and good luck with that, yada, yada, yada.

Was I out of line, or was she? I've been wondering about this a bit since it happened.
