Glad to see this post as I didn't even know this was here! It just came up recent so I clicked. Can't contribute anything current on Lincoln, however another one to at least check is where Milwaukee and elston meet just south of devon if that is not too far way from your area. I to would like some good info on the stop and flops as I can't do car dates with no car! Thanks boob h for this post.
You can do a scooter date.
By the way the restaurant across from the motel at Elston and Milwaukee and. Okay Is great. Also Super Dawgs is close by too.

Anyone have any up-to-date insight on the Lincoln Ave motels on the north side? Which ones offer short stays, which don't? Which ones are complete trash (looking to avoid bed bugs and roaches) and which are decent?
The only one I would recommend is the Summit Motel. Clean and cheap ($40) for a short stay.

So I was doing some recon on hourly rooms in the Cicero / Broadview / Brookfield area, since I have come across a few Oak Park women on CL who don't want to drive out to me. Here's quoted short-stay (four-hour) rates for budget motels in that area that I got on the phone today: Shamrock Motel - 42; Chicagoland Motel - 57; Plank Road Inn - 55; Presidential Inn - 45; Colony Motel - 45; Pioneer Motel - 40; and Travel Inn - 40. Karavan Motel quoted me 50 for eight hours and immediately hung up.
Those prices are about what I pay at the motel I go to.

Membership Motels.

Not exactly sure what questions you are speaking of. The first time I was there I noticed, what I perceived, was a person in charge. I inquired the reason for the membership. She explained their attempts to keep things on the up & up so to speak. The second time I called for a reservation, when I gave my name the person on the phone said something like, I see you had the such & such room on your last visit, would you like the same room or like to upgrade. No big deal but those factors tell me they are paying attention to who's coming in.
I never saw a membership motel from that point of view. To me it's just a way for these places to get more money as opposed to keeping out the trouble makers.

Ambiance Room Reservation.

How long ago? I just checked out their website as I haven't been there in several months. If you try to go to the booking a room info page you get a pop up that says you must be a member to book a room. Now I've never gone there without a reservation. Could that be the difference?
I took my former ATF there during the week. There were always rooms available. I never made a reservation. I just took whatever room was available. You do have to buy into their membership club. I'm going to let my membership expire since I don't ever plan on going here again. Nothing wrong with the Ambiance Room. It's just that I'm not seeing my now former ATF anymore.

I have a FWB that I get together with once in a great while & we typically get a room at Ambiance. They have made it very upscale, the rooms are VERY nice but pricey. The first time you go you pay a small membership fee (I think 20). They enter all your info in the computer using your I'd. When we've gone I've booked a nice room & we make it a a special event, champagne etc.
I had a conversation with the manager (maybe owner? She told me they don't want the "notell" business & sort of watch for suspicious behavior. I remember the second time I booked a room they started right off by telling me what level room I had the last time I was there and the date of my visit. It took me by surprise but that's the way they filter. I would not use this place with a provider. Quite different from the days when it was the Galaxy inn which was absolutely cash only notell. Hope this helps.

NoTel MoTels
Here's an useful list of NoTel Motels that I found posted on the LA forum here: http://www.motelguide.com/ilc.html.
Apparently, many of these require no IDs and also provide hourly / short-stay rates. I guess at the least it could serve as a ready reference guide to use when in a pinch. LOL.

Yes they require I'd.
