My argument was aimed at "Asian Relaxation Spa" which is a HUGE RIP-OFF.
The service is non-existent, the quality of the girls is very bad and locals won't go there anymore. So they try to lure tourists and others who don't know of it's bad reputation in with a .6 teaser fee and when you get comfortable and are thinking with the little head, they ask $.3 for a HE.

Just walk or better yet don't go there initially unless you like to throw money down a sewer grate and you can't find an open sewer. You have been warned!

The pricing you described at 73rd does sound very good, IF you get the full 60 minutes. However as long as the TV cameras are there, I don't plan on going there any time soon. You might end up being "on" 60 Minutes.

I don't think the discount causes a bias review. It would certainly improve the chance of liking the value or "bang for buck". But no more or less tha you would consider the diference in price between two providers.

Places often do this when they have a shitty reputation for service (like Asian Relaxation Spa does) and the need to advertise to lure the occasional tourist to their shop because they won't ever get any repeat business. Remember the door fee is only the "tip" of the iceberg. It's the total cost (door fee + tips) and the hassle of constantly being upsold that force these places to use the low door fee "bait and switch" tactics. I guess these girls can always find a job at a car dealership when their spa gig runs out.
