Europe is a massive drug market as well. The people I know in these countries believe the answer involves a powerful nation with a powerful military to work with their weak ass governments to destroy the cartels. But the governments are submissive to or at least passive with the cartels.

Goverments are easily bought by the cartels. Just look at our own. The ties that most have with China are a simple example.

Doing nothing has gained the United States at least 2 million more mouths to feed, shelter and give health care too. Let alone that these arn't just Latin American s that are coming across freely. Soros is flying everyone that he wants to Central America to join the caravans that are heading north. Once across they are gven cell phones, money and a buss pass / plane ticket where ever they want to go. Oh yea a paper that says they have to appear for a date with ICE. The drug pandemic will never end but if we would enforce our border we could at least slow what's coming across it. I really think that this admin along with a big contingent of the other side wants the United States to be disolved. Just look at their actions.

Yes! Doing nothing won't work. We can't take them all in. Biden is pathetic. But Trumps efforts are also useless. Asylum is a legal "acceptable" means for immigrants to come in. Until we get real well beyond the wall best to learn some Spanish.

The heart of the problem is the rabid consumption of drugs in this country. We're just enabling all the mayhem south of the border. Cartels will always find a way to get their products in. Bordern enforcement is just a fallacy. I don't see this ending any time soon.

Absolute truth you speak. I travel frequently to Nicaragua and it's the exact same there also. However Biden needs to do something drastic about the border situation. The best thing he could do is send a delegation to central America. It is all over social media that the borders are open completely and that Nicaraguans can pass freely into the US. The majority of this false news is spread by the cartels to get extortion money. At the very least, the US government needs to start a ad campaign on social media informing central Americans that the border is NOT open and not to come.

The best thing he could do is send a delegation to central America. It is all over social media that the borders are open completely and that Nicaraguans can pass freely into the US. Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, Belize, etc. Been there with the people that live there. Not on resorts. Yes! We need a leader here that is willing to work with the people of all of Central America and get serious with the drug lords. We have never had a President that took the issue seriously. Why are they coming. 1) jobs. 2) safety. 1) Covid reduced the jobs they come here for so that slowed the rate for those illegals. Now US businesses are desperate for those employees to return. 2) The murder rate has skyrocketed in Central America to almost 11 times what it is in the US as the drug lords have taken control. I've been to most of these countries but I've gone deep into the rain forests, farms, and well off the protected resorts. Once went to El Salvador to buy a lemon orchard and found myself facing a well armed truckload of drug cartel youths. I fully expected to be killed or at least taken hostage but I got lucky. I decided not to buy the orchard and get home. They kidnap children and force the girls into sex slavery and the boys into these murderous gangs. These people are running for their lives and seeking asylum in the US. They push their children to swim the river with hopes they can live. The wall will not stop them. Mexico is the 5th richest country in the world and refuse to pay their own people a living wage. It is a problem but the fix has nothing to do with fence. The disaster you speak of is well south of the wall. They would much rather the US help them get control over the drug lords and secure their own country because they do not have the power to do it themselves.

Agreed. So far, over 2 million have come over the border this year. Many underage with debts to make good on to the criminal element, so selling themselves is the answer for many, and it's not by choice. Why this government refuses to secure the border or even visit the border to check out the disaster is something I'll never understand-nothing but problems now, and in the future. It's good that they were able to get all the minors. This is 1 time I will side with the FBI. Just think how many more the could rescue if they would just secure the southern boarder.
