Madison police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night at a Far East Side motel that left one man with life-threatening injuries.

Lt. Kipp Hartman said the shooting was reported about 8:30 p.m. at the Red Roof Inn, Hayes Road.

The victim, who was found in the parking lot, was taken to a hospital where he was undergoing surgery for life-threatening injuries, Hartman said.

Police were still looking for a suspect who fled on foot. A police dog was used in an attempt to find the suspect, Hartman said.

One of the hottest girls in Madison since I've been doing this was exactly like you describe. Although I think she was clean (of drugs). She had a boyfriend who appeared not to work. And two small mouths to feed. She'd walk the streets panhandling. She could have easily been making $300 an hour or more. But she obviously hated it. And let that show by randomly ripping people off. A lot about this situation posted on the Rockford forum. Don't know if LE flipped a girl and they got a warrent to plant audio and video equipment inside or what they did. All guys busted were older including an 80 year old Think 28 in all were arrested. Really sad part is the woman who owned the one place commited suicide over this deal. Makes you wonder how long before they try this in Madison? Asian apartment places would be a prime target as well as massage places offering extras.

They have tried this already in Madison. Tried to get girls to talk, clients to talk. 6717 odana (before Sarah's) was shut down when she would not cooperate. Be really careful out there.

My hunch after having been in the middle of a similar mess in Madison is security cameras captured faces and license plates, and an insider provided investigators with information. The craziest part. The one guy who got busted lived in Madison but recently located south of here when he got fired from his job when investigators made a scene at his MSN based work place. He was never charged here but lost his wife and job. Talking about bad luck. He and I talked a bit since we had similar encounters with DOJ. I was worried that he was contemplating suicide and he stopped correspondence, so I was glad in a way to see that he is still alive.
