Photos are accurate. "Most reports are negative" does not strike me as accurate. The reports I've seen over the years are overwhelmingly positive. It's not all that different from many other industries. There are a limited number of skilled providers who charge fair prices, so those providers are in great demand and therefore hard to book. Consequently, if you really need a provider on a short timeframe, you are stuck with the crappier options, some of whom are scammers and some of whom are just really bad at the job.

I have a contractor working on a big project at my house right now. All of the better contractors were booked up a year in advance, so I had to go with the only one I could find who said he could do the job in my desired timeframe at an acceptable price.
