Williamson is very slim pickings now. It's tough out there and you are very lucky if you find one not completely strung out. I caught 2 different ones on 10th and orange last summer. Good luck.

Based on your input I decided to take a drive last week past 10th and Orange on my way to see a chick on STG. Wouldn't you know it, I actually saw a younger shapely AA SW spinner. However, it looked like she was being motioned by her pimp to get some distance and walk further out in front of him. There were a lot of men standing on the street corners in that area both on Orange and Melrose parallel to it but no other SWs. Looked for her on the way back from my other apt but she was gone.

Yes, Williamson Rd headed north use to be an active stroll but it is extremely slim pickings. I've also seen an occasional AA SW with a pimp at the gas stations over the summer months and I picked a girl up that either got scared or wasn't a SW and just dropped her back off but it is very rare to find a real SW on what use to be a decent scene. You can also occasionally see some working girls walking from the roach motels over to the gas stations to get cigs. I've met with many women in those hotels over the years but have never actually been successful at picking one up off the street. If you follow Williamson back into Roanoke opposite the mall direction. That use to be a known area years ago too but it has mostly dried up as well. I think LE has really cracked down on a lot of the street activity. I wrote some posts a few years ago about witnessing them make some busts. If you or anyone else actually finds some SW unicorns please let me know. I stopped cruising because of such little of activity. So, is Williamson rd headed North from Orange pretty much the main stroll area left in town? I've seen a couple scragglers during the day when I pass through, but nothing else. I can't believe its this dead in Roanoke. It's got all of the markers of being a decent stroll.

Don't do Franklin Rd. Too many cops. It's too close to high end neighborhoods in S Rke. Cops will never allow that. Too much revenue for city.

I was driving by the strip club on Franklin. Around 6 pm. There was a young slightly cubby (hispanic?) Girl posing in a tight white hi cut button-up blouse and a red and black checkered mini skirt. She had her pimp literally right next to her. I was sitting at a stop light with a few other cars. All the guys were cat whistling and making noise, she was smiling and waving back while posing. Her pimp never took his eyes off his cell phone. I drove past a couple miles then decided to turn around (my temptation got me) but alas she was gone, couldn't find a trace after driving around the area. My guess is someone beat me to the punch. Although I could be wrong and she simply could've been walking home with her boyfriend. Your guess is as good as mine.

I was driving up Melrose going toward Salem the other morning just after 4 am, and there was a street hooker standing on the sidewalk in front of Country Cooking. At first I just thought it was someone waiting to cross the road, but as I looked in the rear view mirror, she was still there. She was a skinny black lady (30 ish) wearing big sunglasses (at 4 am). It had been so long since I'd seen a street walker, I thought I should mention it on this forum.

You can often find a few SW hanging around Sheetz on 460 and Williamson if the weather is nice.
