One final note for VA (alleged) clients: Unless I've missed something, there's still been absolute radio-silence on the part of VA agencies. There are no guarantees, of course, but prosecution of anyone in VA is looking less and less likely (IMO).

Another data point to support this view- VA agencies are not involved in the seizure of the BTT site. If they were, they would want the publicity there as well.

Looks like the privacy and due process arguments will be decided by the full court, assuming the SJC doesn't reject the appeals. That's pretty much what I expected.

Now it'll be interesting to see with what sense of urgency (or lack thereof) the SJC addresses the issue. And also whether they schedule any oral argumentation or simply decide based on the briefs submitted by all the parties. One other item of note is that, per the report, only 14 defendants filed appeals. Does that mean only 14 (alleged) clients are in legal jeopardy? If so, that doesn't square with earlier numbers (28, IIRC) that have been floated out there. Not sure what that means, exactly, but we'll learn more as the saga unfolds! Also, not sure how things work in MA, but it's possible there could be amicus briefs (from the media, and others), which could turn this into a real three-ring circus! Get the popcorn ready.

I had dated a few Asian providers. In the morning, I gave them a ride to their palors. Some kisses hugs and goodbye. And I had no problem. After reading this, I just figured out I was a survivor.

I know for a fact the in NOVA a man was indicted for HT because he drove a provider to his home. Basically for letting a provider into his car: "aiding and abating HT." Insane hypocrisy but once indicted one would have to spend thousands defending oneself.

I hope the plaintiff wins big and gives the cops a lesson that will be heard around the country. In any event, consenting adults activities involving an exchange of money are none of the cops' business. And leave the Asian providers alone unless there is solid evidence of actual illegal human trafficking activity.
