I think the pink pony is one of the places you mentioned. There was an East Tennessee girl that worked there that I went to school with. I'd usually go down there once a month and she was good about hooking me up with takeout from her or one of her friends. I stopped going but made a return trip a few years later to see that it had become a gay club. Definitely not in my wheelhouse.

Nah mate. Pink Pony was (is?) just outside the city limits of Atlanta by like a mile in Dekalb county. You could see a very clear dividing line between the counties back in the 90's. Back then no beer sales on Sunday in Atlanta only the Dekalb strip clubs could be open on Sundays. That was one of the reasons there were so many on Buford Highway.

There was another collection of 7-8 on Cheshire Bridge just off Buford Hwy. That entire street used to basically be strip clubs and adult bookstores back then. Plus Happy Hermans gourmet shop which was oddly my favorite place in Atlanta to shop. Right in the middle of an adult playground lol.


Part of that also lies with Atlanta being dry well into the 50's so the big liquor stores, etc set up just across the city / county line. Unfortunately, I know way too much about this history LOL.

The Pony is still there going strong-or at least it was earlier this year.. No gay about it.

Follies was even further out Buford than the PP (maybe 5 miles +).

The place I was thinking about was another 5-10 miles out from Follies near Chamblee I think. Blazers? Shooters Alley? Hell man, there were so many out there back in the day I'm probably running two or three of them together LOL.

North up Buford hwy, I remember two clubs in the same shopping center area. Both were complete dives. Have been trolling there in a really long time.

I used to like the gold rush. This was before it went AA on me. They brought in all kinds of shows. I knew a bouncer cause we were at the same gym. I hung out with a dancer from there for a while. She and I would hangout all over buckhead. Lost contact with her because I was a douche, and I admit it.

I enjoyed those places back then. Now they are all slowly going away. Sad.

Ah the Goldrush. Takes me back. I was sexually assaulted by one of the girls from Blondage there one night while she was on tour. Loved every second of it.

Remember the owner getting killed back in like 93 or so? He got killed by three cops who were trying to rob him.

Different world and different Atlanta now. Used to be nice little spots everywhere around Midtown to grab a drink and meal, etc. All corporate chain garbage now.

I got out of there a few years after the Olympics. For like a 15 year period, don't think I saw Atlanta outside of the airport. Only started heading back down there in the last year or so.

Was trying to think of what that place at 75/ Northside was called back in the day. For some reason, I am thinking Ponytails maybe? Had a white sign with green graphics. Found an old lighter from there a few years ago that I had kept. Need to dig it out and confirm the name.

There used to be a dive strip club like out even further than Follies on Buford Hwy. Basically Follies lite back in the day. Was beside an adult theatre if I remember correctly. White trash girls mostly, but they knew the deal.

Oasis brings back memories. Got thrown out of there during the Tyson / Holyfield ear biting fight. Bouncer caught me with about three fingers up a girls slit while we were watching the fight.

Wasn't there another place out near Oasis for a while there? Weird place, the interior design was like an old hunting cabin or something. Working fireplaces, etc. Was a very weird ambience for a strip club.

I miss the good times. I never spent much time in diamonds. I did spend some time in the one at i75 and north side, but not much success there either. Oasis and PP were like shooting fish in barrel.

I worked one block from the Sheeran for years. My boss loved the cheetah, but we only went to eat lunch 2 or 3 times over three years. Worked in ten Peachtree place. Just pulled it up in Google maps and it hasn't changed in 30 years.

Definitely the good old days. I wish the religious right wasn't winning so much.

I think I only went into that first iteration of Diamond like twice. They had the reputation at the time of padding credit card bills so people kinda avoided the place. It closed maybe 95 or so sometime and the gay place opened there. I think it lasted maybe two years and then reopened again as Diamond.

The sports bar-at least at the time was called Dirty Als. Wasn't a bad place back in the day actually. They used to do a pretty good Happy Hour on Fridays. Buy a bottomless tea for $1. 25 and pig out on chicken wings, etc.

They sold the sports bar maybe 96 or 97 to some other guy and it went downhill VERY quickly. Last time I set foot in there was the Patriots/Packers Super Bowl-whatever year that was. Caught them padding my bill with a bunch of stuff we never ordered and never went back.

The strip club right at Northside and 75/85 kind of beside the old hotel and Waffle House was always a real mess. They lost their liquor license at some point and could only serve sodas so they started letting 18 year olds in. That sadly was the place I busted my strip club "cherry". I didn't get a good fake I'd until about a year after that.

Ah the Cheetah takes me back. Probably been over twenty years since I set foot in that joint. Used to work really close to there so we got in free whenever we wanted, etc. After I left that job, I still had a box of those free admission passes the bums used to give out. I think I gave the guy like $5 for 100 of them or something one night. When I moved to Knox 5-6 years ago and was packing up my stuff found an envelope still with a shitload of those passes still in it.

The good old days.

Right there with you. I lived in atlanta on north side circle between the diamond strip club at the top of the hill and the flavor of the month name at 75 and north side drive for years.

What was the deal with that swinging Richards place and the sports bar?

Unfortunately, the religious right is winning in atl. They are getting clubs on liquor licenses. Oasis is the most recent one to shut down. They were getting dragged into court for something every so often. Too bad as I had a number of girls from there.

I think it closed around 20 years ago. Last time I ever went in there, I saw a pregnant dancer and swore I would never go back ever. It closed shortly thereafter.

Yes, there were some skanks in there for sure; that is beyond disgusting for them to have a pregnant dancer working there.

I discovered Follies when I was about 23. Talk about ruining your expectations for strip clubs permanently. Nothing can really measure up. More attractive.women in other clubs, sure-but being able to walk into a club and KNOWING you were getting laid was a trip. Never saw girls giving head in the restrooms. Funniest thing I ever saw there was that for a brief period, they had identical twins working there (Latin origin-dunno specifics). One of the sisters picked up a guy and took him to the back. Her sister went back a few minutes later with another guy.

No big deal right? Next thing you know, both guys come out of the back throwing down on each other. Turns out, one of the guys had looked up while getting his knob polished and saw the twin of the girl riding some other guy. He was convinced the guy had stolen "his girl" and started swinging. Willd wild west man.

I have seen some of the reports about Doamond on the Atlanta board. Always surprised me to be honest. I lived like 1/2 mile away from that place for almost a decade. Went there twice. At the time, it had the reputation of no extras to be had in addition they loved to jam extra charges on your credit card if you opened a tab. There used to be a sports bar called Dirty Als kind of across the parking lot where I used to hang so my handful of Diamond visits usually came after being overserved at the sports bar.

I went in twice last week when in town and I don't remember either of those names. The club usually each night around 9:30 pm posts the names of who is working that night on Twitter and IG. I don't recall seeing either name when I was checking last week.
