I made a post that touches along the same lines. 3-4 years ago from the street to online it was popping. It kind of bothers me to see guys get ripped off on these things. There are two ways to learn in the hobby. Experientially or book learning. I think part of the point of these threads is to provide info so guys can "book learn" rather than get ripped off, get arrested or worse. There is a whole thread on this site which gives rules for online dating.

Sadly it looks like in an era of users who mostly use their phones and expect info instantly, there is little appetite for education or history. So those who chose to ignore the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them.

I think the average Joe out there doesn't really understand what constitutes "entrapment" as I see it misused frequently. Maybe others can comment?

I think one of the key elements of "entrapment" is that LE entices you to do something that you normally would not do. So if you have been texting with a girl for commercial sex acts, then it is going to be hard for your defense attorney to argue that you aren't inclined to date prostitutes. Responding to an advert on STG or other prostitution related website, I would think indicates your willingness to break the law and engage a prostitute. Thus that act would likely eliminate your "opportunity" to mount a legal defense of "entrapment. ".

So what if a girl contacts you. Once you can figure out she is a prostitute, or perhaps a normal person would have a reasonable expectation to understand it is a commercial sex act, then furthering the discussion and agreeing to meet sure seems like it strips away the enticement to commit a crime you normally wouldn't do.

So something very weird happen here is the story.

I get this text from an escort. Saying she wants to see me. Now I don't remember her at all. Her name is melody. I'm like ok send me pics. She send me some pics. Looks great about 30 years old.
