10+ years ago at Stoney Ridge

I haven't seen any at Stoney Ridge or Franklin in a long time. The environment has changed over the years. Back in the day you could use the CB. If you got lucky you could even hear one from the interstate before the exit and know if you should stop. Those days are long gone at most truck-stops now. Still Memphis and Atlanta are much the same as ever. But I blame cell phones. Back in the day, a driver that didn't like what he saw going on in the lot had to walk to the payphone inside to tell Uncle LEO. By the time he did that the lizard had likely moved on to another truck or maybe two before LEO actually arrived. Today a driver can end things by calling from the cab of his truck. He can stay on the line and point at the truck with the lizard hiding in the sleeper. The quality of girl is pretty much equivalent to a street walker. Pretty much the same services for the same prices.

I never heard of Big Ben's that must have been more than a decade ago. I-71 exit 65 or exit 69 has never had any that I ever saw or heard of. I-71 exit 32, I actually don't know because I've been on day shift since before it opened. Lingering eye contact doesn't work so much for lizards. Usually a description of your truck or a wave as she passes works.

    Big Bens

Used to be able to find them at Big Bens on the way to Columbus. I don't think its even there anymore. Might be something in its place.

You had to have a CB or amazing luck to track them down. Local LE might also be listening to the CB so care was needed.

It's always been a strange dream of mine to pick one up, even though I don't drive a truck. Just curious if any were at those locations, and if there was a different trick to picking them up than say streetwalkers who you have to do the lingering eye contact with. Thanks.

Occasional service at Flying J exit 171 never know when. I met one at the T / A exit 175. But she was passing through in a truck, so likely won't be there again. Heard stories of one working Pilot for part of one day, but didn't see it personally. Often Boone County's finest will park near the T / A and listen to the CB.

    Lot Lizards

The Stoney Ridge is flush with them. Unfortunately, they prefer to conduct business in the big rigs with sleepers. They take their "breaks" at the bar. The Coyote Ridge. Pretty easy to weed out. They always ask for a drink. So if you're not a trucker, you need to spring for a room plus the going rate. No beauty queens. Most are rough. But you can pretty much name your price within reason. 50 is usually sufficient for full service. Need your own protection.

From my experience trucks stops are hard without having a rig but a cb is a must have tool for them also.
