Not really a conspiracy theorist, or even helpful in pursuit of our favorite hobby, but definitely an interesting read.

Short version: Backpage was actually more cooperative than any other website in combating child / slavery prostitution but politicians needed a fall guy to make it look like they were "winning the fight" and Backpage was the most visible and well known.
