Funny, right after replying to your post, I went to the general section and saw this report:

So if that is her pimp. He is a black guy, and he's cool with her not seeing black guys. WTF!

I'm a white guy, so it has never affected me, but I have talked to a couple of the girls I have seen about it.

The 2 I spoke with had had bad experiences, one with a wannabee pimp who set an appointment and then tried to enlist her. This one experience got so bad she actually had to move. It worked out better for her in the end, but she said it was quite scary.

I have no frame of reference and am by no means in possession of any answers, but a quick look in other cities shows that it is not limited to Saint Louis. I did find this interesting blog post from a provider that explains it from her understanding.

Yeah, if she's in this profession now there's a good chance she's changed from when you knew her. Or, could she just have been weirded out from knowing you outside of the hobby? Most of these girls do like to keep their professional separate from their personal lives. But I don't know how well you knew her. I mean, if I found a hot girl on here that I went to high school with I would be very tempted, but would also realize it might be a little weird for and she might not really like that.
