This is at least the second one they had up in that area. I posted about one February that was in Itasca County. As I mentioned then, I didn't have much sympathy for those guys since they thought the girl they were contacting was underage. At least it appears these guys thought they were dealing with an adult.

If someone thinks they are getting someone underage. Then they deserve EVERYTHING they get. If it is two adults then leave it alone. There is a world of difference between Prostitution and Sex Trafficking. People need to learn that.

You probably don't need the reminder but always be careful out there fellow mongers. They sure make it seem that the guys were actually buying and trading a person but the charges were just solicitation. Love the phrasing the LE and news puts it. "NO ONE SHOULD BUY A PERSON FOR SEX". Real human trafficking is actual scum shit, people who want to go about their business is exactly that, their business. I imagine it's PR for the police after a rough last few years of police incidents. Got to get that good PR.

Keep watching for the AMP's they will show up 30 miles plus outside of the metro. As far as what happens in the AMP's is to be determined.

I have always wondered why more AMPs don't locate on the fringes of metro areas where regulations are more friendly and perhaps LE is less focused on AMPs.

My personal view of why politicians and LE like to bust and close down AMPs is that they feel its good publicity that helps them look good to the public. An AMP bust will make the TV news, because the media knows that the public loves the drama of a sex related story.

If politicians and LE focus on improving diversity, equity and equality, its not going to get the same attention. In life, we learn to feed the monkey what it wants to eat.

LE in MN and particularly in the Twin Cities Metro area have zeroed in on "human trafficking" as a large problem. They have all applied for and received grants for training and enforcement.

Real human trafficking is a tragedy. However, I don't think it occurs in the majority of AMPs.

There is little that we can do as consumers to improve the situation in the metro area. What is happening is that places that offer extras don't feel comfortable operating in the Metro area and a good AMP experience will require driving outside of the metro area.

The Hudson AMPs are good and some recent reports cited places with wider menus in Marshall and Wilmer.

All of your suggestions are good and valid. Yet, I feel like there is some X factor that is impacting the number of quality AMPs in MN. Six or more years ago there were many more good AMP options in MN.

A motived owner of an AMP will manage to overcome challenges. Can't advertise on BP? Find new ways to advertise. LE a concern? Create policies and provide employee training to reduce risk.

Seems like for the last 5 years or more for many small businesses there are plenty of customers but its very difficult to recruit and retain quality employees. I don't know if this is the case for AMPs. But I do feel like something must be going on that the current and prospective AMP owners feel like they can't overcome. How else do you explain the huge decline in the number of AMPs in MN?
