Despite your claim, I'm no different than you. I've done the same.

I've had similar experiences with my sons mom, family and my job consists of only addicts.

The simple truth is. Nobody can offer enough encouragement, help or well wishes to an addict.

When / if they can choose to change their behavior is when they will get better. In most cases that's pretty rare for ANY form of addiction.

We like to think we are so intelligent but we are barely smart monkeys.

As I said in a previous post. This can be an addiction too for some. The bottom line is Both sides take advantage of people in this hobby.

From my experience. Even if you were magically able to convince her to get better. I can almost promise you will get Zero credit for any help you gave. They usually will take all the credit for themselves for changing their behavior "on their own".

It wouldn't shock me if she has used the false pretense of going to rehab just to get money from ya.

Anyway, can you confirm she failed again?

Was her recent post legit?

I'll try to be the impartial judge here. I called her after her post appeared just a couple of days after the post appeared that said she was going to rehab. She answered and we talked for a couple of minutes. She said she wanted to go and detox because she couldn't do it on her own. And then signed out of rehab. She's back and available again. I too hope that one of these times she completes rehab and gets clean and out of this lifestyle. I'd steer clear of her because the monkey on her back is controlling her decisions right now.

I'm the original poster, and Maria was sitting with me during intake to rehab when I wrote that post which she asked me to do. She and I have had our problems in the past but found some common ground and have become very good friends over the past couple years. I'm the one that's dropped her at rehab the last two times. Yes, she failed again this time but I just pray she lives to give it another try.

The negative posts had me concerned but was going to give it a chance.

As I said. Addiction is real in MANY forms. My job specializes in just that. It's unfortunate but I didn't tell her what choices to make.

As far as the replies about encouragement, they are real people or inappropriate like we literally use these girls for one thing. 90% are on drugs or would steal from us in a heartbeat, so no I do not care. I treat them well when I am with them, but I only care about one thing just as they do. If they can all say they have a disease well so can most of us. If you guys really care about these girls that much then why do you do this? We're all going to hell anyways for what we do so I will see you fuckers there.

Wow. Nice to see you think of her, or probably any of these girls, as actual people, with comments like that. "Not against her getting better. ". How about realizing that she suffering and has been wanting to get better for a long time but needs to find the strength to do it. Wonderful fucking encouragement.
