It does not. It spreads by skin contact with an infection lesion which can be anywhere on the body, contact with bodily fluids, close contact with the breath of an infected person, and from objects, fabrics and linens used by an infected person.

but then coming into contact with any materials / clothing (not to mention kissing or touching) any stripper / masseuse who may have been exposed from an infected (possibly bisexual) customer, boyfriend, or family member could also transmit MP, from what I understand, or is that wrong? In other words, it's more socially transmissible than other STDs that require genital contact.

It depends upon how much the government wants to make us afraid of our own shadows. It's an election year and the strategy of one of the two major parties is to convince voters to believe that the government is the only one who can solve your problems. Create a problem that only you can solve can be an effective approach.
