Bloomington police are investigating a man's report he was choked and robbed of his cash and keys after arranging to meet with a woman at his motel room Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to a report of a strong-armed robbery at the Motel 6 at 1800 N. Walnut St. About 3:45 pm.

A 46-year-old man reported he contacted a woman over the Internet and the two arranged to meet, according to Bloomington police Sgt. Lucas Tate. The man said he called the woman about noon, and she and a man arrived at his room about 1 pm.

He reported the man entered the motel room and choked him until he passed out. When he awoke, his cash and his keys were missing, Tate said. The man was not injured, and his vehicle had not been stolen.
