    Play Pen destroyed

I decided to stop and look in the window and see what kind of remodeling they were doing. I knew it didn't look good when they ripped off the front smoking porch and put a for rent sign. Looked in the window and the entire bar was gone. They completely gutted the place. This tells me whoever bought it, does not want any type of bar in there. Very sad. Was hoping someone bought it with the intention of another lingerie club going in. The mayor really had a hard on for that place for some reason. He finally got his wish. What a jagoff.

With a for rent sign if pp owners were just renting or if others here in the know have more helpful info as I am only guessing. Unless someone bought it and wants a tenant, however would believe they would do a remodel or a tear down. Would be interesting if the mayor did buy it and then kept it in the same vein. Doubtful, however we can dream! On another note uncle money is keeping us under lock and key until may 30th! Should have played the loto this week, however with their mayor down there hinting about social distancing and all of the clowns that gathered along the beach during that nice weather, kinda knew it was leaning towards that. Now ohio, tennessee et al are opening up. If anyone has hints on how to sneak out of our bs state please let me know! I mean how many times can my dying mother die? My dog ate my homework as well, officer! Stosh. Be well brothers of the streets and the suites!

    PP closed

A couple of folks suggest somehow, one of the bartenders either bought it or is in with another on the deal. I personally hope it's somehow connected to the Mayor. With that type of protection, it could end up being a fun place once again! LOL.

Not sure if their liquor license was included with the sale. Makes me wish that I would have bought it and opened my own place 😂.

Mr illini. With the flea closed down there I have not driven through in awhile. That space will go, however they will do a complete teardown imo. Would think what is going to work is a possible competitor across the street that does gaming machines. Ideas are a dime a piece and even at that overpriced, however the drunk and horny dudes leaving the actual strip clubs on that corner behind there might actually stop into a place where they could have a night cap, a sandwich and gamble the rest of their money that they did not blow on the vultures acting like women in those clubs. All imo so who knows where this is all going to go once they reopen the state. Imo they are not just going to turn the lights back on may 1. Now the mayor of chicago is hinting that they will be into mid June and who knows what uncle money our current gov is going to do! What a mess! I feel and may have to leave the state just to get a hair cut! Stosh out with peace and happiness to all the fellas.

The front of the building looks like it's been redone. It will be interesting to see if it re-opens & what type of business it will be. Their shut down was so abrupt. I was in there about a week before it happened (late October) there was no talk of closing. It was discussed on the board back in Dec or Jan but no conclusions were reached.

I was in J's a couple weeks before the statewide shutdown. Was talking to one of the girls that's been around for a while. We were talking about Playpen among other places. She asked me if I knew Kat. I said yes but hadn't seen her in a long time. Apparently she recently passed away. For those of you that don't remember her, she'd been around for several years. Very quirky, liked to dress up in cat themed clothes (Hello Kitty etc). She was overall a decent person & battled some type of health issue (kidney / liver or something like that). It eventually caught up to her, very sad. She was fun to hang with & gave nice dances.

Speaking of the past, anyone like to reminisce about earlier days in that area? At least until things open up again?
That chimed in. Sorry I have been off the street as well with the shutdown I have been staying more up this way on my bicycle and just hitting groceries as needed or atms in the area. I also would be very interested with a potential remodel and what would open there. Possibly gambling with the state loosening up, however of course with the shutdown entertainment service businesses are going to be hurtin for certain for quite a while. I am just waiting for the fleas to open back up because when they shutdown I was toast! Course go figure an essential business is a liquor store, however a place to get a haircut is not! My old man hair has not been this long since I was in college. Yep last century when and where dinosaurs pooped! Stosh out. Be safe and well all.

Kat had been around the Mannheim lingerie scene for a decade or so. She was a curvy dark hair, medium height, I'm guessing latina. She carried a hello kitty backpack & wore a hat with kitten ears. She could carry on an intelligent conversation. Gave touchy feely dances. Only issue is she could be a bit persistant at times but not to the point where I felt the need to leave. She worked at Playpen back before they got their entertainment license pulled, when it was still fun.
    OK thanks for the correction.

She also would hang out at Playpen & descreetly get friendly while sitting with you at the bar. She had it rough, I believe she was at one time, working in the medical profession as a nurse or CNA. Her medical condition made it tough for her to work consistantly so she had to give it up. She was fun to hang with, she'll be missed.

Would have details. Yes once their adult license was pulled they were just keeping it on life support have not been cruising much there since the lock down. Stopped by my friend's car wash to check my oil and I did notice darts boys getting antsy more meaning where usually there is only that one cruiser now two or three.

I think that enough of them have given their numbers to enough guys. I'm sure that if any of them has your number, you will be hearing from her. Stay safe.
