To add on this subject, The first time I got involved with mongering, I sent a deposit. It was 60. Went to the supposed [lace near my house, a hotel that was under renovation. I knew that I had been fk'd. The second time I sent to a deposit it was for 25. She sent me a fake recorded video that cut off as I was trying to say something. Do we need a daily reminder to not send deposits? It seems every time we go just a couple weeks after talking about this topic, someone comes saying they got ghosted by someone they sent one to. Too bad there's no ad pop saying up. I think LC actually warns users not to send anything in advance before they let you explore the site. Play at your own risk.

Take one more step
In addition to never sending a deposit, I go one step beyond that. I refuse to give them any money until the act is completed. They will piss and moan, but I do show them that I am carrying the money. I have had to walk out only a couple of times. Call me a cheap bastard, but I don't get ripped off. That's all I have. We keep saying "don't send deposits", usually in response to someone getting ripped off *because* they sent a deposit, and people keep doing it. I really don't know what to say. If they were all noobs, I'd get it. But they're not. It's incomprehensible.

Mr. Underwood. Now I don't mean learning from no deposits no time, h*ll no way! I mean guys paying attention to the forum and learning where posts are relating to certain topics. Now that said I have done some pretty cray cray things myself. I gave my credit card info over the phone and then quickly had to call my bank and ask if they tried anything. They said they checked for funds available and then I told them if it comes through just bounce it back. so for me i caught a stupid mistake on my part and no damage was done. I was not thinking clearly in that day and just came off of a horrendous scene with a functioning alcoholic so I was not wrapped too tight. Anyway sometimes people just do stupid things. Agree the deposit thing is a no no. Course not all people have been on this forum as long as many.
